I just turned 60 but is fairly decent shape and recently bought an RR and love it. It’s not super comfortable but I can ride for 3 to 4 hours no problem and the smile it puts on my face is everything. I have an XR too for long journeys or shit weather so best of both worlds. I’d have an R but I don’t like the looks or lack of wind protection…. I guess we’re all different..
Yeah it’s a great ride the RR, I’d love to have both.
It’s not really age related, it’s my lower back, I would definitely be crippled if I had the RR as my only bike 😊

I'm too fat enough for an RR, So I had to settle for a single R with inch risers on. Stops my neck getting sore, and my pinkies going numbumn. Oh, and, my local dealer was trying to tel me I had to fit motorsport wheels if I wanted to fit a 200 rear tyre, turns out that was rubbish as the rim is 6 inch which is fine for a 200. And and and, be careful when changing tyre sizes on the very new electric suspension models, because if you fit a different size tyre, you need to ride fit very slowly to the dealer and have the brain recalibrated to suit the tyre size, because the brain will be trying to adjust the suspension because of the different tyre size. Too much electronics for my liking. 👍🏼👍🏼 Keep up the good work.

I wouldn’t change to a 200 tyre, I’m happy with the 190 tbh. It’s a great tip though for people that do want to swap 😊

You are the second person to suggest that. The closest dealer is about 100 mile away. It would be a good idea to have a full day out going there for a test ride 😊👍🏼

I had a good laugh at this one lads, cheers. I don't like the position on sport bikes, I put it down to being taught on a cb650r which has an upright position and just preferred it.

Loved that new 900 Happy for him and i have a solution for ya put some ape hangers on the RR then you can have the seating position and your Number plate will match how you look riding with them on a sport Bike Thank me later.

Yep you’ve to try these things out. Most sports bikes are terrible at ANY age mate. They’re designed for the track. Look great but that’s about it.
I’m on market for Streetfighter v4 or Pani v4, but realistically the Pani would be pretty crap for daily and long journeys.

Swapped my S1000R for a KTM Duke 890R - I just don't ride the sorts of roads where upwards of 140 is fun, and the S thou was just great at missile speeds; much as I miss the smoothness of an i4, the Duke is perfect for dodgy B road scratching.
Will still keep watching, as you lads provide a great bunch of laughs 😁

Side note I feel bmws are just noisy in general I feel it's literally a trait at this point even at low revs you can here it.

What tyre pressures do you run on your S1000r? I’m only about 11stone and the factory recommendation’s feel far too hard for me
I have the front at 33/34psi and the rear at about 40psi which is about 2psi under what they recommend, it feels better for me, I also have the suspension in road mode which makes the ride easier
I’ve been running 34 f and 38r. Have supercorsa SP v3 tyres and the max pressure is 42 on the sidewall so don’t want to be running the factory recommendations on the rear. Just too hard I think
@charlieleec yeah I think that those pressures are to allow for all peoples weight, you are probably better off setting them so it feels right for you

The XR is a mint bike, I tested it from the same dealer here, think it was last year. It’s very similar to the R but better for commuting or long journeys 😊👍🏼
Stick with the R because you're getting too old for a RR!

@Lunaticstunter Has it started vibrating yet.? Mine started at about 1500 miles. I'm not joking it's unbelievable. Just done at 80-mile ride and have white dots all on my hands. Absolutely mint bike to look at. Best looking naked in my eyes.
@@Baz1000r no it's exactly the same. I have fitted Arrow exhaust headers . I did find they were more vibey with the stock ugly exhaust cat.

Marks brother had an mt09 sp that I had a quick ride on… I was shocked at how bad the brakes were. This has put me off the idea of a Yamaha, I’d test a new mt10 though if we had a dealer close enough 😊👍🏼

A few people have said about the mt10 now, if there is one at any dealers down here I’ll ask about a test ride 😊👍🏼
