    So far i've noticed that killing an animal does add to their scan total. don't qoute me on that

      It does it a great way to scan and get do at the same time

      It does auto scan for killing an animal so if there’s a dangerous animal you can just snipe them and job done.

      It does scan it but I think there's certain scanning certifications that it doesn't contribute with that type of scan. In this case the hand scanner certifications, and if you loot flora without scanning it counts for the survey scan but not the hand scanner cert. I'm not 100% on that, just a mental note I took when playing a fresh start with homesteader background trying to level with as little combat as possible until I could unlock class c ships and be able to craft/build anywhere lol

    THE COMPULSION TO SCAN EVERY PLANET TO 100% IS HARD TO IGNORE!

  • @alith-cast7870
    @alith-cast7870 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Okay so just an FYI, killing monsters and gathering resources, actually counts as a scan too. So although this video guide says you HAVE to scan the animals, that's not true. If you prefer to simply go in guns blazing, you can just kill the animals and gather the plants/resources, and they will be counted as scanned :)

      @DeconstructingTheGame  ปีที่แล้ว

      For me that's not the case. If my companions kill an animal it works and if another animal kills them it works but if I kill them the scan won't be available.

    • @alith-cast7870
      @alith-cast7870 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I'm not saying the scan is available AFTER you kill them, I'm saying by killing the fauna it counts as a scan. Check your progress before you kill a creature, then kill one, and check your progress after :)@@DeconstructingTheGame

      @DeconstructingTheGame you're misunderstanding killing the animal IS the scan you don't scan afterward

      It doesn't work for you because once you kill the animal it gets automatically scanned you can't scan an animal twice I guarantee you if you go to any planet and kill a certain animal seven or more times it will be 100% scanned @@DeconstructingTheGame

    yeah, i found the water ones the most difficult at first. The hardest part for me was finding the coast line. But I did find that if you try to pick a spot as close to the water as possible you can eventually get the option of the biome nearest the ocean and it will have "coast" in parenthesis. I think typically my ship is always facing the coast so if I run to where the ship is facing it usually takes me to the coast line. It's not hard to see and scan (provided you got the longest scanning range unlocked) the water creatures from the shore.

    I also found that if you're having trouble finding all of the resources on the ground, typically if you find a cave it will have the ones you're missing if not all of them clumped together.
    Beyond that, I think the traits are usually "Natural"(can be multiple), "Life Signs", "Hazard" and "Anomaly" and can be any combination of those.
    What I'm wondering is if there is a way to scan the planet from orbit and it show you all trait and structure locations.
    Specifically I'm hoping to try and find the other Galabank ship.

    If you kill an animal, it automatically scans it as far as I know. That's why you can't scan it. You've already done it.

      Travel to its orbit. You need to be in orbit unless you have scanner upgrade

    What to do if it says Ocean 0%, I have been exploring the coast but haven't found anything

    • @DeconstructingTheGame
      @DeconstructingTheGame  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the overall planet is surveyed don't worry. The ocean isn't explorable to my knowledge yet. Its usually other bioms that need more exploration.

      If you have a planet with an ocean there is a good chance that there are fishes in there to scan. So click on a biome that ha a border with an ocean till it says the name of the biome and coast written in (). That's mostly the case if you are sure you have scnanned all the fauna and the game still says there are 1-2 animals missing.

  • @loikosful

    Sir you dont have to scan animals , just kill them it count as a scan ^^

    Thanks for the tips. Have one animal not accounted for on Nesoi in the Olympus system. No clue where it's all, according to the planet map all biomes seem to be at 100%. I swear this game hates me.

    • @kcontino
      @kcontino ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I answered my own question just now. You can actually land on the coast of any biome and get to the ocean. From there I was able to see fish and scan them. Even on the coast, the biomes stated 100%.
