- Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is a serious birth complication affecting full term infants: 40-60% of affected infants die by 2 years of age or have severe disabilities. The majority of the underlying pathologic events of HIE are a result of impaired cerebral blood flow and oxygen delivery to the brain with resulting primary and secondary energy failure.

Physical therapy aims to assist in the development of both fine and gross motor skills throughout a person’s lifespan, but especially at an early age when a child’s brain and body are still developing. They are also trained in pain relief and swelling reduction techniques, which can include therapeutic exercise, heat and cold applications, and electrical stimulation to the muscles.

Mera banja abhi 3 din phele hua....wo roya nhi tha phir 5 min. Bad roya....... Uske bad usko Oxygen ki problam ho gai hai....jisse wo abhi Ventilator par hai..... Abhi 25% Recovery hai kab tak wo ventilator rahega...Dr. wo bol rahe hai recovery bhut slow hai....but ho rahi hai.....

Now what is the position
Sir ! My daughter was 2 years Old, but delay development shown, after MRI found HIE and BERA is normal Study , but in EEG found focal Seizures. Then , Doctors start medicine Oxcarbazepine, after seen EEG report. However, No sign of seizures/ fits seen on baby from birth to 2 years old, but doctor said , you must take medicine for seizures.

Sir my son is now 17th month old,after 2 days his birth he get Brin injury (shake inside)MRI show this also,and after 5th days he comes seizures, doctors start medicine for seizures but after 3 month doctor stop this medicine.
Now this August we go to pgi chandigarh for asking his delay learning some activities.
They suggested us again MRI,EEG
AND IN EEG SHOW FIT'S. And 11th August we reach PGI chandigarh .
WHEN WE wait for our turn to met doctor my son come seizures .
Doctors start his medicine levi pil.
And now I want ask about his learning when,how he learn normally.

Report significant generalized low attenuation of the entire brain parenchyma as well as cerebellum is seen suggesting global brain anoxia.Diffuse cerebral edema with effacement of the gray white matter border and marked effacement of the brain sulci as well as major cisterns.The gray white matter interface has been lost as well.No intracerebral , sub dural or extra dural haemorrhage.Disproportionate dilatation of left lateral ventricle is seen with occipital horn measuring up to 8mm.Conclusion.Significant generalized low attenuation of the brain parenchyma as well as cerebellum is seen suggesting global brain anoxia.Diffuse carebral edema with effacement of the gray white matter border and marked effacement of the brain sulci as well as major cirterns.
