I was surprised the godslayer greatsword didn't make the list. It has a long ass wind up but hits like a truck and has a fantastic follow up attack. Also black flame is really viable in later NG+s. Very fun to use (obviously blasphemous blade is and always will be number 1)
@@mrgray5576 except it's not it has a fast unique moveset compared to other collosal swords, almost on par with a greatsword and it does bonus fire damage much like blasphemous blade, It's ash of war is quite bad, but it's bread and butter against elden Beast, since it was forged to kill gods themselves
I have a feeling faith builds and paticularly holy dmg is gona be really strong in the dlc. I think that death and undeath will be major themes in the dlc especially since everything late game resists holy.
Elden Ring by far the best Game i played. It took me 20hours to even beat the first dungeon this cat Skulptur opponent. Never have i been challanged that much and i loved every single second of it took me 250hours to finish the story and finish in genereal with 82%
With the sacred relic sword, holy scorpion talisman, Shard of Alexander, ritual sword talisman, Marika's Sore seal. You can 3 shot almost any deathrite bird even on Ng+3
I have personaly farmed the Halo Sythe a Number of times, and the (subjective) Dropchance doesnt seem too bad. I highly recommend farming it with every faith build.
Weapons, skills and incantations that kill those who live in death first try actually say in the description that they are especially effective against those who live in death. While these always do holy damage, not all holy damage weapons have the description or the effect. Just check the descriptions, and you'll know which items have the effect.

I just use holy pots against those who live in death. It works great, they do massive damage and prevents them from reviving. There's no need to change equipment or apply buffs to get this effect. Just keep 4 or 5 regular holy pots on hand and that's it. In my opinion, it's one of the best uses for any of the regular pot items.
@@larrydotson2625 My faith was at a constant 13/14 and the Holy Pots still did decent damage (800-1000+ depends on buffs) on Deathrite Birds. They're really THAT good!

Godslayer's Greatsword! This thing hit like a Truck and the AOW apply a dot with % DMG, so its more useful against large HP pools. You can burst Mogh down from 80-0% in the Time frame of the Shakle effect. But it can be tricky to land all 3 hits, especially by fast moving targets. The Halo Scythe had some serious bugs, in some areas the Light Disc is flying in strange directions and you might not able to hit you target. This killed me more than once and with this bug I wouldn't place it in the Ranking.

The Erdtree Bow does a great job of killing those who live in death as well. I use holy arrows with it on my Blasphemous Herald build that I tweeked from the Fextralife build guide.
Finally!!! A youtuber who showcases a lot of gameplay with the weapons they are talking about. I've seen so many people upload crap where they only show a weapon/ability in PVP or they do something atrocious like adding silly ass music in the background. So much more helpful seeing things demonstrated like this against different kinds of enemies
Essentially, any weapon or spell that can outright kill undead tend to have "Effective against Those Who Live in Death" in their description somewhere. there may be some that don't say it that i haven't found yet.
then after Rykard of course you start usong Blasphemous blade which is CRAZY GOOD. As much as I love them, I still feel faith has a pretty small pool of weapons unless you're g ping secondary Str/Dec, but I'm mostly starlight faith / vig / mind, plus the arc I need for dragon rituals.. I feel like I need a better build...
Cipher pata unblockable blade does tons of poise damage. You can stun lock most grunt enemies and break poise of the giant golems in 2 uses. Fast ash of war and the sprinting light attack is great for roll catching in pvp
I’ve gotten that Black Blade to take out the Omens in the sewers in 2-1/2 hits…if you end up hitting with the weapon + ash. I’d say it has one of the highest attacks in the game.
hi before i let you know about a few weapons that could of been honorable mention ect your videos are great some have helped me, some i knew and others were new to me. But being a faith build i have a fair few i use: Miquellan Knights Sword which has Sacred blade, Gargoyle Blackblade Corpse wax cutter for a D.O.T, Dragon Communion Seal due to dragon breaths but despite running on arcane aswell (10) it has the second highest scalling and i have found it out damages all other seals regardless of the +10% or 15%. My erdtree seal at 50 faith has 242 scailing where as DCS has 339 scailing but thats 50/40. Hope this helps you and anyone else that watches your videos keep up the good work.
Have half of these on +10 for my faith/strength build that I've prepared for the DLC. Agree that the magma wyrm scale sword is mental with high strength and faith, but blasphemous blade is probably my favourite
@julio urbina they have good damage but it's also fire damage so you can tailor talismans and flask to enhance that. I have used the zweihander, I put the sacred blade ash of war on it and it's pretty decent, it's good for staggering enemies

While we're ranting about double-tapping undead enemies, it drives me BANANAS that you can't lock onto the dead-ish enemies. The number of times I've had to take four or five swings at a re-animating enemy before I finally hit them is higher than I'd care to admit.
For killing undead from what I've seen it's when a weapon has an aura, using sacred blade will do it, so will other holy weapon arts that make the sword glow. I imagine the consumable that applies the same works too.
I almost always do faith/anything because there is so much to do with it! And the amount of utility you have when you level it up even a little bit. Faith ❤❤❤❤
Just beat the game using a pure faith fire build. All incantations and nothing else. It was satisfying. 237 hours and I'm totally good on it now. If dlc happens I'll play that and maybe do a ng+
I ran into the same issue with “those who live in death” I ran through the same lines of thought. Equipping that sacred sacred blade on any weapon that can use it kills them first go but only if you activate it. I found that the coded sword will kill them in one go if you use its weapon art. So it seems like only the golden order sword is capable of killing them without activating the special abilities. For anything else you need to use a holy damage special attack
To me... one of the greatest mysteries of the entire game, is how a leonin misbegotten got its hands on the Golden Order Greatsword which belongs to the God/King Radagon? I mean... that's got to be one hell of a story, for real.
Well the misbegottens are related to Radagon, especially the red hair ones. Even called "Children of Radagon" and "Radagon Chimaera" in the game files. The cave itself is "cave of the forlorn"-meaning lonely and abandoned and the golden order greatsword was given to Radagon by his first wife Rennala. So Radagon abandoned this sword in the cave or somewhere nearby after he left Rennala. Can't go around showing off your ex wives stuff when you're currently in a new marriage. Pretty self explanatory.
Just wanted to point out that while this is a faith guide the highest incant scaling is on the golden order seal if you have both high faith and high intelligence. The dragon Communion seal is second highest as it scales with both faith and arcane.
Note about the Malekith black blade: you can stack the destined death with th black knife destined death and the spell, AND Tiche’s you can cut a boss hp in half literally by stacking all 4

I’ve been using the magma blades dropped by the serpent men at volcano manor you should try them out. Although after the latest patch the jump dual wield attack deals more damage than the ash of war now 💀. They used to do 8k damage for like 30 FP (with buffs and the corresponding talismans that is), They have insane stagger and can get you a critical hit on melania in a few seconds
I just respec'd to a faith build today for Maliketh's black blade..... between my tear and I (both wielding the blade) we staggered and dropped Malenia for the 1st time. It is definitely situational but I do adore it for getting me a trophy ❤
My experience with Those who Live in Death, it seems to be things that attack the soul, not the body, that keeps them from getting back up. In that, abilities like the Winged Scythes Ash of War prevents it, the Halo Scythe's Ash of War will do it, holy grease will, and anything else that will apply the magical faith damage, instead of the physical faith damage. Also, they probably didn't remember to code some things to work against undead or there is a reason like the Cypher Pata and the Coded Sword were always made to kill the living, and leave the soul undamaged, so the Great tree can feed on it when buried as undead are those that weren't buried at the roots of the tree and/or rejected the church and are forced to Live even in Death and only through using holy energies do they get released or banished. Which is where the Golden Epitaph comes in, it's made SPECIFICALLY to deal with undead, it's in the name. It applies a buff that makes you able to lay the dead to rest, to be granted the holy golden light to release them form their torment of unlife. It turns you into a tool of the divine, instead of augmenting an existing tool to do it.
I didn't see a comment on this but for the magma wyrm curved sword, you get two hits out of the ash of war followup (massive poise dmg, a small dash retreat, and i've hit for 5k+ on str/faith build) It is hard to use safely but very worth it when you can (and it's lower than crouch at some points so it can dodge sweeps)
Its a shame that there isn't a Seal that boost Blood Incantation spells. Doing an Arcane run using the blood spells with some dragon breath attacks so I'm using the Dragon Seal. Honestly I think Briars of Sin and Briars of Punishment should have been incantations and should scale with Arcane not Intelligence, also that there should have been a blood seal. Seriously blood magic isn't arcane at all while bubble magic is. Take a look Briars of Sin uses only Int while Great Ocular Bubble needs Arcane and Int it's so stupid.
I think you have the right of it thinking lore-wise about dealing with Those That Live in Death, it's mostly about the Golden Order. Golden Epitaph is the outlier, but that was made by Miquella for Godwyn post Night of Black Knives. You didn't mention it, but the Treespear is great. It has the Sacred Order Ash of War, to deal with skellies as well as pile on the holy damage, has the moveset of other greatspears for those cheeky shielded pokes, and has a great heavy charged attack that if you pull it off fully, will get four hits in quick succession, stun-locking a lot of heavier dudes
skills, and weapons that have to do with golden order fundamentalism kill undead outright. From what I know it's just golden epitath and great sword but as mentioned the epitath buffs weapons with the order buff even if you switch weapons (menu switch included I think) it also effects their ash of war meaning any weapon buffed with golden order(weapon buff or AOW buff with restrictions) can have an undead killing ash. And yes, sacred relic works as you'd think with it
If you do it correctly u can net almost 200k if u clear the area below the palace approach ledge... make sure if ur new playing to kill the bird too across from the ledge u kill the albunarics on... shoot him once and then run down the hill and make a wide sweeping right turn and go back up and rest and rinse and repeat... don't forget ur gold foul foot and ur golden scarab to net 50% extra runes on top of the runes from the albunarics. Cheers!
After the update (idk about before) I've found that duel wield sacred estocs are pretty damn good. Might try making them heavy (I'm more faith/str focused) and try using the sacred order incant. Only problem is I couldn't find a way to apply the buff to both weapons that way. But anyways the way I'm running now, they're anywhere from 700-1000 AR (each) depending if I buff up or not. You can easily smack 3k damage in one quick combo, and the successive attack tailsman goes nice. It's honestly one of the most fun builds I've made, and the way I have it built is real tanky too. Gelmir armor/helm with radahn gloves/boots. Poise tailsman Holy dmg tailsman Successive attacks tails And the dragoncrest +2 for extra phys resist. 80 faith The rest is up to you. Sacred blade hits for like 1200 one handed as well lol Really suits my Jesus clone named "Sword and Savior" 😂 the paladin style armor along with my frenzy glowing eyes looks super sick. Praise the sun!
Man i fucking love this game lmao, 70 hours in and just finished raya lucaria. I love to get sidetracked w stuff in games but they never let me do anything, but here i can actually completely explore an entire region from head to toe and it continuously has content. I remember finding the winged scythe and ive been maining that since. Cant wait to get these when i go further
I noticed something weird happening in Sage's Cave with the Last Rites buff up in combination with the Sentry Torch in the offhand - it seems to sometimes cause a small amount of tick damage to undead in a wide radius regardless of terrain or line of site. I suspect it's a bug and that the sentry torch has a big collision volume that's getting a property from the Last Rites aura, and it doesn't seem to always happen, my guess is there needs to be an invisible wall or mob to hit at least once to make it active.
The dragon communion seal is literally the best in the game if you're using anything with status (frenzied flame incants, dragon communion, bleed, etc) due to status buildup on incantations scaling with arcane if you use the dragon communion seal. Also, for normal seals, the best seal is the golden order seal, due to it ACTUALLY having the best scaling in the game if you use int.
Golden order seal is the best starting at a high point of investment so it's only the best in that certain situation as with all other general purpose seals, each is the best in their respective level bracket. It has been like this since at least DS3
Angel's wings > Halo Scythe the weapon art has insane hyper armor and poise break, you can get it super early, no farming. the only weakness is in tight spaces it hits walls sometimes. You can aim the WA mid air, I've been rocking my faith playthrough with it. just wish it would 1 kill skeles 😢
I’d say you were on to something regarding the rules about which weapons will permanently kill Those Who Live in Death. The Sacred Relic Sword mentions the end of the age / the beginning of another - it’s not a Golden Order weapon. Any weapon that is associated with the Golden Order will do it.
For those who live in death killing weapons. You need to read the description. Their descriptions tell you when they kill those who live in death. Look for the term “effective against those who live in death”
i think the key to properly destroying those who live in death is not to focus on holy damage or things with sacred in their name but instead look to the incantations and weapons used by people who are or were golden order fundamentalists such as D. The whole point of those fundamentalists was to hunt down those that live in death so its no surprise that they had the tools to do that. The litany of proper death incantation is amazing at destroying skeletons in one shot and all the swords that destroy skeletons in their descriptions all tie into those fundamentalists. Unfortunately punching skeletons with the golden order seal doesnt work ;)

I originally made my first character a bandit, but I ended up rerolling as a crusader and I'm enjoying it more. I actually prefer the bandit combat gameplay, BUT..... for the life of me I can't figure out how to deal with getting swarmed on that character with my reduvia and twinblade. My crusader just puts his shield up then does a big greatsword swing that hits and staggers everything in front of me lmfao.
Sacred blade Ash will kill Undead outright with the projectile as well as the after buff. Its my go to on a halberd. I always assumed it was any glowing yellow weapon.
Also side note. I got malikeths doing more damage than the others, I also paired it with tiche, black knife, and then the incantation as well to liquefy bosses
I honestly find God slayer incantations and weapons to be quite lackluster. I went to see if leveling up the seal and the great sword after watching a vid since I mainly have Faith/Strength and I was better off with my usual weapons which are my Golden Hunting Horn, Big Healing Sword from Dude who turned into a giant Serpent, Inseparable Sword, and the Great Spear you had with the hold down projectile.
JUST TRIED GOLDEN EPITAPH SWORD buff/ works perfectly/buffs caster's body/one shot spells for mages/ used with night comet/Loretta's mastery/and even Ancient Death Rancor /for long range/undead skeletons are NOT re spawning Testing grounds in the Crumbling Azula area
one you miss is the invocation dager the pure fate brother of the black knife . the ash of war is the same but the invocation dager is pure holy damage. is powerfull inoff to consider and is a great dual for the blacknife and is a middle easy weapon to get. only down to the elevator out of capital in direccion of forbiden land and early stop jump, enter in the office and thast it
I would've thought the Golden Order seal deserved mention in your seals section, given that it seems to have the highest incantation scaling in the game. I (absolutely) must be missing something.
That's an Int/Fth hybrid Seal, in order to get the most out of it you need to have equal investment into your Intelligence and Faith stats 45/45 is where you should stop. Its NOT a Faith Seal, its it's own thing.
You arent missing anything. The video is incorrect. Or he is just focusing on faith only. The golden order seal is the highest scaling, and technically the best one to use at low investments as well. Buuuut it required int. at 45/45 it scales better than any seal save like an 90 faith Erd tree.
Imo, Maliketh's Black Blade is arguably the best faith weapon in the game, due to how much damage it does to enemies with your normal attacks and charged r2's if you use a strength faith build, and the aow hits like a fucking truck if you use sacred scorpion charm and shard of alexander. Not to mention, the health debuff of destined death also stacks with the black blade incantation.
sacred blade ash of war works well. Killing them with the ash attack keeps them dead and buffs the weapon. Any skeletons and such killed with the blade while the buff is still active stay dead as well.
From what I've seen yes it needs to be a sacred order sword it can't be anything that just says holy dmg and or the buffs that you already mentioned you already have it figured out in the video
For those who live in death to stay dead the first time the weapons or skill has to reference them in the description. It will say something about being very effective against those who live in death.
I agree with your points on the Black Knife, but I think you're thinking about it in the wrong utility sense. I think of it as a debuff before a big fight. Use it and switch back to blasphemous blade
I recently got back into the game and made a fresh character after having stopped playing halfway through and my GOD faith is busted but the blasphemous blade is the most OP of them all, I killed the Godslayer Duo first try ever by just constantly mashing LT, if they died and got revived it didn't matter because I'd just healed a bunch anyway lol
combine the blasphemous blade with the sword of milos in your off hand for FP back with every kill and talismans that do the same and you are an auto-healing machine
No. Marikas hammer is op. If Blas Blade I #1 Marikas hammer is number 1.75. It’s almost as good as BB. Sacred Relic Sword is only good for Wave of Gold. Marikas hammer has an AOE that can one shot the birds in Caelid. I’m not shittin ya
Sacred blade on like anything is enough to kill skeletons. You have to use the ash obviously but its super clutch easy n to grab for any run! God i love this game

The Erdtree Bow does a great job of killing those who live in death as well. I use holy arrows with it on my Blasphemous Herald build that I tweeked from the Fextralife build guide.
Finally!!! A youtuber who showcases a lot of gameplay with the weapons they are talking about. I've seen so many people upload crap where they only show a weapon/ability in PVP or they do something atrocious like adding silly ass music in the background. So much more helpful seeing things demonstrated like this against different kinds of enemies

Essentially, any weapon or spell that can outright kill undead tend to have "Effective against Those Who Live in Death" in their description somewhere. there may be some that don't say it that i haven't found yet.

winged scythe is an absolute BANGER. The WA is teh shit stagger locks most enemies and some bosses. just sucks in cramped spaces

As much as I love them, I still feel faith has a pretty small pool of weapons unless you're g ping secondary Str/Dec, but I'm mostly starlight faith / vig / mind, plus the arc I need for dragon rituals.. I feel like I need a better build...
Cipher pata unblockable blade does tons of poise damage. You can stun lock most grunt enemies and break poise of the giant golems in 2 uses. Fast ash of war and the sprinting light attack is great for roll catching in pvp
I’ve gotten that Black Blade to take out the Omens in the sewers in 2-1/2 hits…if you end up hitting with the weapon + ash. I’d say it has one of the highest attacks in the game.
hi before i let you know about a few weapons that could of been honorable mention ect your videos are great some have helped me, some i knew and others were new to me. But being a faith build i have a fair few i use: Miquellan Knights Sword which has Sacred blade, Gargoyle Blackblade Corpse wax cutter for a D.O.T, Dragon Communion Seal due to dragon breaths but despite running on arcane aswell (10) it has the second highest scalling and i have found it out damages all other seals regardless of the +10% or 15%. My erdtree seal at 50 faith has 242 scailing where as DCS has 339 scailing but thats 50/40. Hope this helps you and anyone else that watches your videos keep up the good work.
Have half of these on +10 for my faith/strength build that I've prepared for the DLC. Agree that the magma wyrm scale sword is mental with high strength and faith, but blasphemous blade is probably my favourite
Man I'm trying to make faith/strength build with a Zweihander, but it's not working out how I want it. Might have to try these weapons you mentioned.
@julio urbina they have good damage but it's also fire damage so you can tailor talismans and flask to enhance that.
I have used the zweihander, I put the sacred blade ash of war on it and it's pretty decent, it's good for staggering enemies
@@RyanSmith-hf7gc Yea, that's what I was using on the Zweihander. It really is good for staggering. I was using a couple incantations, talismans, and a physick flask mix in my build.
While we're ranting about double-tapping undead enemies, it drives me BANANAS that you can't lock onto the dead-ish enemies. The number of times I've had to take four or five swings at a re-animating enemy before I finally hit them is higher than I'd care to admit.
For killing undead from what I've seen it's when a weapon has an aura, using sacred blade will do it, so will other holy weapon arts that make the sword glow. I imagine the consumable that applies the same works too.
I almost always do faith/anything because there is so much to do with it! And the amount of utility you have when you level it up even a little bit.

Just beat the game using a pure faith fire build. All incantations and nothing else. It was satisfying. 237 hours and I'm totally good on it now. If dlc happens I'll play that and maybe do a ng+
I ran into the same issue with “those who live in death” I ran through the same lines of thought. Equipping that sacred sacred blade on any weapon that can use it kills them first go but only if you activate it. I found that the coded sword will kill them in one go if you use its weapon art. So it seems like only the golden order sword is capable of killing them without activating the special abilities. For anything else you need to use a holy damage special attack
To me... one of the greatest mysteries of the entire game, is how a leonin misbegotten got its hands on the Golden Order Greatsword which belongs to the God/King Radagon? I mean... that's got to be one hell of a story, for real.

Well the misbegottens are related to Radagon, especially the red hair ones. Even called "Children of Radagon" and "Radagon Chimaera" in the game files. The cave itself is "cave of the forlorn"-meaning lonely and abandoned and the golden order greatsword was given to Radagon by his first wife Rennala. So Radagon abandoned this sword in the cave or somewhere nearby after he left Rennala.
Can't go around showing off your ex wives stuff when you're currently in a new marriage. Pretty self explanatory.

Just wanted to point out that while this is a faith guide the highest incant scaling is on the golden order seal if you have both high faith and high intelligence. The dragon Communion seal is second highest as it scales with both faith and arcane.
Note about the Malekith black blade: you can stack the destined death with th black knife destined death and the spell, AND Tiche’s you can cut a boss hp in half literally by stacking all 4

I’m so tired of this garbage community spamming moonveil and using summons to cheese this great game and don’t even get me started on the mages spamming magic. Ima just use cheats now because it’s the only way I can stand a chance at winning. Maybe once the devs nerf everything then I’ll stop using cheats; I enjoy making these toxic spammers rage quit when I use my infinite HP cheats.
LOL Dom slipped and started calling runes souls.. I love it, I actually did a cheeky bit of DS3 last night and I forgot how fun that game is. I’ve been using the magma blades dropped by the serpent men at volcano manor you should try them out. Although after the latest patch the jump dual wield attack deals more damage than the ash of war now 💀. They used to do 8k damage for like 30 FP (with buffs and the corresponding talismans that is), They have insane stagger and can get you a critical hit on melania in a few seconds
I just respec'd to a faith build today for Maliketh's black blade..... between my tear and I (both wielding the blade) we staggered and dropped Malenia for the 1st time. It is definitely situational but I do adore it for getting me a trophy ❤
My experience with Those who Live in Death, it seems to be things that attack the soul, not the body, that keeps them from getting back up. In that, abilities like the Winged Scythes Ash of War prevents it, the Halo Scythe's Ash of War will do it, holy grease will, and anything else that will apply the magical faith damage, instead of the physical faith damage.
Also, they probably didn't remember to code some things to work against undead or there is a reason like the Cypher Pata and the Coded Sword were always made to kill the living, and leave the soul undamaged, so the Great tree can feed on it when buried as undead are those that weren't buried at the roots of the tree and/or rejected the church and are forced to Live even in Death and only through using holy energies do they get released or banished.
Which is where the Golden Epitaph comes in, it's made SPECIFICALLY to deal with undead, it's in the name. It applies a buff that makes you able to lay the dead to rest, to be granted the holy golden light to release them form their torment of unlife. It turns you into a tool of the divine, instead of augmenting an existing tool to do it.

I didn't see a comment on this but for the magma wyrm curved sword, you get two hits out of the ash of war followup (massive poise dmg, a small dash retreat, and i've hit for 5k+ on str/faith build)
It is hard to use safely but very worth it when you can (and it's lower than crouch at some points so it can dodge sweeps)
Its a shame that there isn't a Seal that boost Blood Incantation spells. Doing an Arcane run using the blood spells with some dragon breath attacks so I'm using the Dragon Seal. Honestly I think Briars of Sin and Briars of Punishment should have been incantations and should scale with Arcane not Intelligence, also that there should have been a blood seal. Seriously blood magic isn't arcane at all while bubble magic is. Take a look Briars of Sin uses only Int while Great Ocular Bubble needs Arcane and Int it's so stupid.
briars spells are sorceries that use faith, not incantations

I think you have the right of it thinking lore-wise about dealing with Those That Live in Death, it's mostly about the Golden Order. Golden Epitaph is the outlier, but that was made by Miquella for Godwyn post Night of Black Knives.
You didn't mention it, but the Treespear is great. It has the Sacred Order Ash of War, to deal with skellies as well as pile on the holy damage, has the moveset of other greatspears for those cheeky shielded pokes, and has a great heavy charged attack that if you pull it off fully, will get four hits in quick succession, stun-locking a lot of heavier dudes
skills, and weapons that have to do with golden order fundamentalism kill undead outright. From what I know it's just golden epitath and great sword but as mentioned the epitath buffs weapons with the order buff even if you switch weapons (menu switch included I think) it also effects their ash of war meaning any weapon buffed with golden order(weapon buff or AOW buff with restrictions) can have an undead killing ash.
And yes, sacred relic works as you'd think with it
If you do it correctly u can net almost 200k if u clear the area below the palace approach ledge... make sure if ur new playing to kill the bird too across from the ledge u kill the albunarics on... shoot him once and then run down the hill and make a wide sweeping right turn and go back up and rest and rinse and repeat... don't forget ur gold foul foot and ur golden scarab to net 50% extra runes on top of the runes from the albunarics. Cheers!
After the update (idk about before) I've found that duel wield sacred estocs are pretty damn good.
Might try making them heavy (I'm more faith/str focused) and try using the sacred order incant. Only problem is I couldn't find a way to apply the buff to both weapons that way.
But anyways the way I'm running now, they're anywhere from 700-1000 AR (each) depending if I buff up or not. You can easily smack 3k damage in one quick combo, and the successive attack tailsman goes nice.
It's honestly one of the most fun builds I've made, and the way I have it built is real tanky too. Gelmir armor/helm with radahn gloves/boots.

Successive attacks tails
And the dragoncrest +2 for extra phys resist.
80 faith
The rest is up to you. Sacred blade hits for like 1200 one handed as well lol

Coded Sword and CP are my favorite faith weapons. I love running around with lightsabers.
All of the Destined Death weapons do damage based on the targets max health. Thats what makes them good.
The Frenzied Flame Seal is nice to have. Switching back and forth with the golden order seal works well.
Golden order seal will overtake the tree seal with investment in int.
Man i fucking love this game lmao, 70 hours in and just finished raya lucaria. I love to get sidetracked w stuff in games but they never let me do anything, but here i can actually completely explore an entire region from head to toe and it continuously has content. I remember finding the winged scythe and ive been maining that since. Cant wait to get these when i go further
I noticed something weird happening in Sage's Cave with the Last Rites buff up in combination with the Sentry Torch in the offhand - it seems to sometimes cause a small amount of tick damage to undead in a wide radius regardless of terrain or line of site. I suspect it's a bug and that the sentry torch has a big collision volume that's getting a property from the Last Rites aura, and it doesn't seem to always happen, my guess is there needs to be an invisible wall or mob to hit at least once to make it active.
I strictly use BB for heals now. Its been such a great secondary weapon I always have equipped while i try new builds out
The dragon communion seal is literally the best in the game if you're using anything with status (frenzied flame incants, dragon communion, bleed, etc) due to status buildup on incantations scaling with arcane if you use the dragon communion seal. Also, for normal seals, the best seal is the golden order seal, due to it ACTUALLY having the best scaling in the game if you use int.
Golden order seal is the best starting at a high point of investment so it's only the best in that certain situation as with all other general purpose seals, each is the best in their respective level bracket. It has been like this since at least DS3

the weapon art has insane hyper armor and poise break, you can get it super early, no farming.
the only weakness is in tight spaces it hits walls sometimes. You can aim the WA mid air, I've been rocking my faith playthrough with it.

I’d say you were on to something regarding the rules about which weapons will permanently kill Those Who Live in Death. The Sacred Relic Sword mentions the end of the age / the beginning of another - it’s not a Golden Order weapon. Any weapon that is associated with the Golden Order will do it.

For those who live in death killing weapons. You need to read the description. Their descriptions tell you when they kill those who live in death. Look for the term “effective against those who live in death”
Farmed this day one cause I wanted that Halo Scythe ability. Never stopped using it.
i think the key to properly destroying those who live in death is not to focus on holy damage or things with sacred in their name but instead look to the incantations and weapons used by people who are or were golden order fundamentalists such as D. The whole point of those fundamentalists was to hunt down those that live in death so its no surprise that they had the tools to do that. The litany of proper death incantation is amazing at destroying skeletons in one shot and all the swords that destroy skeletons in their descriptions all tie into those fundamentalists. Unfortunately punching skeletons with the golden order seal doesnt work ;)
Kiting with the halo scythe is one of my favorite memories in this game. Can't wait for the DLC to drop.

I originally made my first character a bandit, but I ended up rerolling as a crusader and I'm enjoying it more. I actually prefer the bandit combat gameplay, BUT..... for the life of me I can't figure out how to deal with getting swarmed on that character with my reduvia and twinblade. My crusader just puts his shield up then does a big greatsword swing that hits and staggers everything in front of me lmfao.
Yoi should get the godslayer greatsword since its a dex/faith weapon, it helped me shred all the bosses until ng+7. Its that op
I use the blasfames blade in my vampire build I just keep it on my back and use any fist weapon and life steal fist

If your weapon isn’t glowing with holy essence as with after using sacred blade, it’s normal strokes won’t keep them dead
Sacred blade Ash will kill Undead outright with the projectile as well as the after buff. Its my go to on a halberd. I always assumed it was any glowing yellow weapon.
Also side note. I got malikeths doing more damage than the others, I also paired it with tiche, black knife, and then the incantation as well to liquefy bosses

I honestly find God slayer incantations and weapons to be quite lackluster. I went to see if leveling up the seal and the great sword after watching a vid since I mainly have Faith/Strength and I was better off with my usual weapons which are my Golden Hunting Horn, Big Healing Sword from Dude who turned into a giant Serpent, Inseparable Sword, and the Great Spear you had with the hold down projectile.
JUST TRIED GOLDEN EPITAPH SWORD buff/ works perfectly/buffs caster's body/one shot spells for mages/ used with night comet/Loretta's mastery/and even Ancient Death Rancor /for long range/undead skeletons are NOT re spawning Testing grounds in the Crumbling Azula area
I put sacred blade ash of war on a spear and kill all the undeads
one you miss is the invocation dager the pure fate brother of the black knife . the ash of war is the same but the invocation dager is pure holy damage. is powerfull inoff to consider and is a great dual for the blacknife and is a middle easy weapon to get. only down to the elevator out of capital in direccion of forbiden land and early stop jump, enter in the office and thast it

I would've thought the Golden Order seal deserved mention in your seals section, given that it seems to have the highest incantation scaling in the game. I (absolutely) must be missing something.
That's an Int/Fth hybrid Seal, in order to get the most out of it you need to have equal investment into your Intelligence and Faith stats 45/45 is where you should stop. Its NOT a Faith Seal, its it's own thing.
You arent missing anything. The video is incorrect. Or he is just focusing on faith only. The golden order seal is the highest scaling, and technically the best one to use at low investments as well. Buuuut it required int. at 45/45 it scales better than any seal save like an 90 faith Erd tree.

It has to be active holy damage to kill those who live in death first hit. Passive holy damage won't do it.
Imo, Maliketh's Black Blade is arguably the best faith weapon in the game, due to how much damage it does to enemies with your normal attacks and charged r2's if you use a strength faith build, and the aow hits like a fucking truck if you use sacred scorpion charm and shard of alexander. Not to mention, the health debuff of destined death also stacks with the black blade incantation.
Sacred blade kills those who live in death on first try
sacred blade ash of war works well. Killing them with the ash attack keeps them dead and buffs the weapon. Any skeletons and such killed with the blade while the buff is still active stay dead as well.
I use a regular longsword with the sacred blade Ash of war and everytime one shot or just hit the with the ash of war and one shot
From what I've seen yes it needs to be a sacred order sword it can't be anything that just says holy dmg and or the buffs that you already mentioned you already have it figured out in the video
For those who live in death to stay dead the first time the weapons or skill has to reference them in the description. It will say something about being very effective against those who live in death.
I agree with your points on the Black Knife, but I think you're thinking about it in the wrong utility sense. I think of it as a debuff before a big fight. Use it and switch back to blasphemous blade

I recently got back into the game and made a fresh character after having stopped playing halfway through and my GOD faith is busted but the blasphemous blade is the most OP of them all, I killed the Godslayer Duo first try ever by just constantly mashing LT, if they died and got revived it didn't matter because I'd just healed a bunch anyway lol
Just sucks that the final bosses have complete immunity to holy damage

combine the blasphemous blade with the sword of milos in your off hand for FP back with every kill and talismans that do the same and you are an auto-healing machine

No. Marikas hammer is op. If Blas Blade I #1 Marikas hammer is number 1.75. It’s almost as good as BB. Sacred Relic Sword is only good for Wave of Gold. Marikas hammer has an AOE that can one shot the birds in Caelid. I’m not shittin ya

Sacred blade on like anything is enough to kill skeletons. You have to use the ash obviously but its super clutch easy n to grab for any run! God i love this game

I feel holy which usually goes hand in hand with faith, seems next to useless against nearly any boss since the majority of them have Holy negation
