Shipibo Language and Icaros Explained

- Icaros are medicinal healing songs performed during the plant medicine ceremonies in Shipibo tradition.They are at the very core of the Shipibo curanderismo (healing tradition).
In this short film, the Shipibo language expert Macarena Arias is telling about this medical jargon of Shipibo people as a tool for healing. And how the Shipibo language by itself is a doorway to understand Shipibo culture.

Fantastic, love this! Might you recommend any centers in Peru where one can learn a little Shipibo language and icaros? It seems like most ayahuasca retreats are not Shipibo run, for example, even if Shipibo shamans work there, and that most Western participants don’t have engaging with and learning from Shipibo culture on their radar much. It would be great if there were longer dieta, Shipibo cultural centers that encouraged dedicated study of the culture with someone like you to help!

I am in the USA and having a very difficult time getting Shipibo translations of English phrases. Do you have any recommendations for where I should look? Google has not helped : )
Hi, Shipibo language wouldn't have direct equivalents for many words in English. It is the different mindset skill )
