  • Will your nucs produce honey in year 1?
In this video I talk about how much honey you can expect to get out of your nucs in the first year!
Now this is a rarity in beekeeping....normally you'd be lucky to get any honey crop from your bees in the first year!
But if if done correctly and at the right time AND if the weather is on your side then its possible!

Looking great, I used to run almost exclusively Buckfast but they have become very difficult to get. The last batch had to come from Canada and very expensive. I have raised my own now bringing in some new blood for diversity.

I got a package of bees in April. They've done so well that I've taken a split *and* harvested some honey from them.

Btw I have submitted my book 🤞 Apparently my beekeeping scenes are some of the best in the book. I have your videos to thank for that!

That’s amazing! Normally 1 super off a nuc is good in the first year!
It’s been a really good 2 weeks! Role on the next 2!! 😁

@@gwenyngruffydd We had a Nuc(not from yourselves) but yes, we have a super full(Wrexham), a little bit of drying out and capping to finish off, nearly there though on 2 hives. 2nd supers on now, might leave the honey for winter depending on how the Summer flow goes. Plenty of ivy up here in the autumn, that brings loads in.

How would you feed a nuc with a super on?

I’d give it fondant in that case. They won’t store it.
