I built a 30”x 30” platform stand to hold my 6 frame radial down . I don’t have any rockn and walkn . I also let the extractor run at a medium slow speed for fifteen minutes at first . I’ll be uncapping while the extractor runs . After 75% of the honey has extracted then I turn up the rpms a tad bit higher but low enough to keep from destroying the comb . I need to get outside to see if my bees did a miracle harvest for me . Our honey will be darker this year due to the bad weather we had and the last source of nectar was coming in . I also believe the darker honey has more antioxidants in it . Love y’all!

When removing frames for whatever reason if I don’t want to also move bees I prefer to put a one way exit…a day or so ahead and remove the frame(s) after they have exited.
I run from bees beecause every bees life matters to me…if a 🐝 is trying to sting I have not accounted for something that needs to bee addressed…less handling=less dead 🐝’s.

Here's a cool trick about cutting the grass...
Wait till campaigns are over and then---bam, swoop in and grab EVERY single 4'x8' coroplast sign you can find + the excellent T-posts that come with them!
Place the coroplast signs below the hives.
This makes cutting grass so much easier!
    No weedeater, just the mower!
The bees will appreciate the gesture as well!
You have the NICEST little garden there! It's beautiful!

Try a heat gun on the wax to open the cells. You'll never go back!
    Want free food grade buckets???
Go to a bakery and ask them to save them for you. I get WAY more than I need (I give them away at the bee meetings).
Now, I'll just give them to my brother to hoard at his little airport. Why not...=D
Donut shops also have free food grade buckets.
Personally, I prefer the 2 gallon ones as they're just not so heavy!

The warmer the honey the quicker it flows. That being said I spin my honey in a non-air conditioned room.
I'm jealous! I want a radial extractor (only for deep frames).
I was the only one to get stung too! Oh wait I'm the only one extracting honey here.
I harvested 5-6 gallons of honey and 3 frames of cut comb this past weekend.

Brings back memories. Yum! Nothing better than fresh extracted honey (especially if I got some Black Locust honey). My daughter would always be there when the honey came out of the extractor with a spoon. I miss those days. Enjoy them.
You mentioned food grade buckets. Good point. Another tip is to sanitize them with bleach and rinse well before using them. Sanitizing the jars is also a good idea. (Be sure they dry before using them!) You can always bake the jars in a 220 degree oven for 20 minutes to make it easier. When not sanitized, the jars could have wild yeasts that could cause fermentation. I once made partially fermented honey (not purposefully). While it tasted great, I learned the lesson of sanitized jars. I now make wine and beer and sanitize everything so wild bacteria and yeast cannot ruin my batches.

Pretty! Harvest time here as well. We've gone from 5 hives at the start of the year to 12 now, had to buy more hives and especially supers, because we ran out! Honestly had to swap full supers and spin off to recycle them, simply didn't have the numbers to put more than 1 on each hive! But yeah, few more good days expected here, so hopefully spinning off again as well. We've a handspun tangental extractor, I try to stay away from electrical as much as possible...... 🌼🌼🌼

We dont use queen excluders either. It tends to damage the honey bees wings going back and forth. They beat themselves up enough just gathering for the hive, they dont need the additional strain of rubbing their wings going thru the excluder.
