When cutting acrylic, try go about 1800mm/min and a depth of about 0.2-0.3 mm per lapse. Those settings works great for me eaven thought the machining may take a bit more time.
Excellent video! When you mentioned Hannover I had to smile, because back in the 70's I lived in Shoeningen. I could look out my bedroom window and wave to the guards in an East German guard tower across the border. Yeah, I lived inside the 1k Zone.... :)
@Marco Reps I Don't know about solid works, but In Creo Parametric, It's quite easy to determine and then optimize the Centre of Gravity of an assembly.
Hey, cool channel yourself! Would you say, that Blender is better for the occasional animated illustration? I spent way too much time in Solidworks for that 10s animation ...
i use blender sometimes but you are a pro in what u use now. i do have to say that blender is know for its massive amount of keyboard shortcuts. and is open source and keeps being updated! Can you maybe try to add a gimbal joystick preferably wireless ! :) than you can buy a 5.8ghz go pro transmitter and you can buy goggles for a drone.... and than mount the gimbal on a person and see what the camera sees and be able to point the camera were you want to with the wireless joystick! Than the only thing you have to tackle is the 4th axis (up/down) you see some 4th axis tuts on youtube but its not ideal yet. anyway:::Maybe best video ive seen on TH-cam ever!!!!!
If you balance an object on your hand, let's say it's a ruler, the first thing you'll instinctively do is try to find the center of gravity. If gravity is pulling the object straight down then it's actually helping you keep things aligned. You exert little effort and let natural forces keep the object aligned. I'm sure you've noticed that the more you lose the center of gravity, the more effort it takes to realign it. A gimbal is doing the same thing. The more balanced it is, the less battery it uses and the less likely it is to fail.
Dear Mr Marco, How do you fix your camera? Let's say I want to focus on the horizon by the sea and then I want to fix my cam on the rooftop of a building? Best regards, Jan Jaap Maes
hello, can i ask something about this stuff? i have a friend. he does the final test about this stuff. i really want to help him, but i dont really know about this. he made stabilizer for camera, but it always error. (x) and (y) isnt 0. how to fix it? can you leave some contact? thank you before
@@repsNo need to be Cocky. I didnt mean to develop your own memes. Atleast if you dont have knowledge of PCB design or electronics, I would expect to atleast do the programming part. Joining bunch of modules is not really helpfull. No hard feelings
Fräsmotor 200 EUR, wenn man keine Metalle fräsen will, gehts billiger.
can get them on banggood or alibaba for the clones, and the alexmos website for the originales, also, not all boards are compatible with all firmware, so dig in a little before bying anything. Also, those motors are super overkill for the gopro, those can probably handle a small to medium mirrorless. You need bigger ones for DSLR (80-120kv)
What. Just because there's a CNC mill in the video doesn't mean you couldn't do it yourself. You could just as well print out a paper template, spray it on with some glue, and chop out the brackets by hand.
@Marco Reps, Sure this is a year old but I didn't know about you then and plus now, I cannot comment on your scientific instrument repairs like the Keathley(sp?) . I made an EDIT: less is more>> I suggested that you might have overlooked the excellent opensource STorM32 BGC, using the ultra fast NT sensors and now the new encoders of the T-STorM version, plus!!! they are still actively upgrading enhancing and releasing firmware and hardware implementation. For handheld or RC use it is unshakable. Basecam is then much more profit oriented, but still chugging along nicely, I was surprised to find out :O Whatever., in the larger picture it doesn't matter unless perhaps budgetary constraints or you like the new developments in something that the average consumer takes fore granted largely until it fails
The hall sensor feedback in the Rollei I believe was pilfered from his good works. No attributes naturally. I am no good at regaling the mans feats of gimbalage, but he is one of the cornerstones
What forum were you looking at ? Simple Google search will bring up vast info on this but .... I can give you a base cost in USD for 3 axis of less that 80. 25 for the board on fleabay, and 40 for the NT sensors including shipping from www.Ensys.com and they are in Lithuania or some such :-) ( very good quality) . If you don't mind waiting for their Epackage delivery times from China. Perhaps you could get it sooner in the USA. Customs bottleneck the hell out of everything here in Canada . Or source some of it on Amazon. That is for the board and the motion sensors (simple term) there is a decent sized shopping list of little and large bits of course. What is your end use?
lol very funny narration. and very informative.you deserve a million subsribers. I'm trying to build a gimble for a dslr. you have helps greatly in information. maybe you can help me and point me in the right direction, as far as where I can get electronics for a bigger dslr and a frame I can design. I have 3d printer. I will give you credit when my company post first video using the system. :)?
The motors I used (BGM-5208-200) are actually made for DSLRs and the driver (Basecam SimpleBGC) can deliver enough power. The frame: There is another video series out there, where someone makes an entire gimbal from carbon fiber and epoxy, looks a bit difficult. Maybe printable parts can be found on thingiverse or grabcad...
you a film about not being able to make something work that anyone can buy for dirt cheap and it actually work...and after failing you declare with the most arrogant voice that it's just boring making it work LOL
Hey great video... But can make a version 2 making an. Diy this th-cam.com/users/shorts704486Ro9a4?si=wI8rtjoCdfhB6A9c. Would love see a step-by-step video
"Had to do it the traditional way - Hypnosis". haha well played, Sir.
When cutting acrylic, try go about 1800mm/min and a depth of about 0.2-0.3 mm per lapse. Those settings works great for me eaven thought the machining may take a bit more time.
i love your narration style so much, it's like listening to a fantasy novel
Excellent video! When you mentioned Hannover I had to smile, because back in the 70's I lived in Shoeningen. I could look out my bedroom window and wave to the guards in an East German guard tower across the border. Yeah, I lived inside the 1k Zone.... :)
Your sense of humor killed me at 1:03! haha thanks for the video
2:13 When you value the quality of your work more than your fingers
that bit with the death metal when the gimbal starts freaking out was amazing hahaha
+1 for narration! Subscribed because you show the failures as well!
@Marco Reps

bruh XDD
i was about to write the same lmao. yeah thats a bruh moment
Hello,
Maybe you could show us enthusiasts how to make a diy gimbal controller... Like with a STM32 blue pill, some dvr motor drivers etc?
I stumbled upon you're channel and like it's content...looking forward to watching more of you're videos.

Hey, don't knock your build, Marco. You inadvertently built a gimbal for people with Parkinsons :-D
dein bohrer ist bei 3:15 abgebrochen! "uneventful" also? oder sollte das ironie sein!?
You sound like an evil master mind. XD
One Tip regarding long stringy chips: to can get rid of those by just running your spindle in reverse shortly
Nice ...why not 3d print instead acrylic parts ..just asking
Hello, great video. Can you explain why you had to find the center of gravity of the camera. How was that considered in your solution?
You have to balance the camera with the axes of rotations. If you don't, the motors will have to compensate for the efforts due to gravity.
If you balance an object on your hand, let's say it's a ruler, the first thing you'll instinctively do is try to find the center of gravity. If gravity is pulling the object straight down then it's actually helping you keep things aligned. You exert little effort and let natural forces keep the object aligned. Bro... Please provide the circuit diagram.
You make the amazing diy gimbal
How come it is DIY? All modules were off the shelf and you just made the holding arms with acrylic
You are right, next time I'll wind my own motors, equip a multi million dollar facility to make a mems IMU chip etc

Sanwal Saleem cocky isn’t even the right word💛
Marco Reps
Great build.
I wish my workshop was as organized.
I have some work to do. ;-)
damn how do you use the solder sucker so well
that reminds me of GlaDOS. can u make GlaDOS?
Have you seen my dental ceiling light?
Knorkator song was unexpected, but very cool ;)
Andrés Ascencio which song?
Haha! "Es ist noch nicht tot, es zuckt noch!" sehr cool! 😅 schönes video!
Have you Got, in anywhere, all the DIY?
which motors did you use?
BGM5208-200, they are powerful enough for DSLRs. For GoPro you could use smaller ones
thanks for your reply
Where did you buy the motors?
great video! but what controller did you use?
Basecam SimpleBGC 8 Bit
Did u 3dprinted the base

Whic motora do you use?
Think i'll just buy one.
Wow. I don't know how to say this but you are a f***ING genius. I would love to have your skills! And the video is very pleasant to watch!
4:06 it just got epilepsy :DDDDDD
I wish you showed how to wire it up and tune it....
You find center of mass under evaluate, mass properties.
awesome Marco!!!!!! great work! Great sense of humor lol
Your thumbnail says "bruless" so you may wish to fix that.
someone doesn't get a joke
Love your sense of humour Marco :-)
trotzdem schönes Video und schöne Arbeit
I love your dry humour! :D
very good but please list the items
Do It Yourself?? Not really. This is a bit beyond DIY. Excellent engineering, though. Well done.
What. Just because there's a CNC mill in the video doesn't mean you couldn't do it yourself. You could just as well print out a paper template, spray it on with some glue, and chop out the brackets by hand.

What's the total parts cost for the STorM32? I couldn't find any mention of it in the forums or the Wiki.

Great job ! Very well done !

True, but that memory we used to share would kindly inquire brushlessly.
lol great video ..dont worry it isn't dead ...its still twitching
good ol bruless gimbal
Only had two seizures watching this, not bad.
Nobody noticed that there is an s missing in the thumbnail?

Lol dude
Great work!!!
it isnt dead yet lol
"It's still twitching" XD
yeah, guy uses his own CNC at home which a lot of professional shops can't afford, and the title says DYI.... not really
you don't need the cnc - cut the parts using a saw or whatever or use hypnosis.
Isn't it a cheap/salvage CNC though?
A cnc like that only costs a few hundred... Definitely within diy range, and besides it's not necessary at all if you don't need the boards instantly
wtf is bruless
