Just some advice, when you're stitching the hole up for any plush, you should start in the inside of the plush first then go out. It works better so the string won't show when you are trying to hide it.

I have a golden retriever life size plush and my grandmother used to use it as a pillow without telling me. I protected that plush with my life, but after she slept on it multiple times without me knowing, most of the cotton disappeared. The cotton in its neck area and its tail is gone, the only place the cotton didn't disappear is in its head and legs. I just realised that i could've gotten the cotton from my bear plush i didn't care about before i threw it away and filled my dog with it. I still have a dog plush with me, i don't have the heart to throw it away, it's too precious to me. It's a gift from my mother's mother (not the one who slept on it, it was my father's mother who slept on it) for my birthday, I've been having it for more than 8 years. I frequently sleep with it but I'll never use it as a pillow or squish it too much, i cuddle with it as if it was a real dog, if i couldn't get a real doggo, I'll use a plush doggo.
from my limited experience Id suggest knotting off the original stitching as close as you can to the fabric so there is no chance of it coming undone, id also suggest sowing from the inside out that way when drawn tight the thread will draw the outside of the fabric together rather than the inside you did an amazing job and have defiantly inspired me to restuff a few of the old teddys that have been with me a long time.
My old stuffie from my ninth birthday (I’m 17 now) that’s just very flat from sleeping with him on and off (yes I switch my stuffed animals I sleep on at 17). Thankyou for this video! He has come back to life! He already had a hole in his leg so I went trough that and sewed it up nicely haha 😅

How large is the stuffing bag? 150g or 300g? I need to Re-stuff my giant pillow pet dinosaur. He ain’t fun to hug no more he’s very flat in his leg and partly his arm. I don’t want to order the wrong amount and have to pay for more I could have gotten the first time.
Oh. My fox plush has No Cotton in his neck , I’m not exaggerating when I say I hold him by the neck so much the fur is gone , and his neck is completely devoid of fluff. His neck flops over like someone snapped it

When I first got it there was only a tiny imprint because my hand barely fit around it, and now the whole body is squished because the whole body fits in my hand now

Even though this is old I thought I should add-
Restitching plush seams with a ladder stitch is very easy and will hide the string!
Plus one on the ladder stitch. If you have an extra furry plush, a hole anywhere with a ladder stitch would hide the hole.

That stitch is horrid. Do a ladder stitch when closing up plushies. Use pins to make sure side flaps are nice and even.

It’s important to tie a knot in the first string, then you can sew it back up with your new string.
