That emerald green was the 18S collection. That collection was the prettiest Irredecent colour Chanel ever produced, in my opinion. That collection got the emerald, blue (which I got), beige, and pink. ❤

That's a really beautiful colour, but I would personally never buy a Chanel caviar bag. What you're feeling is just a (plastic?) coating on the leather, you're not feeling the actual leather at all. For me (with my relatively small collection) I feel like I shouldn't be carefree with my luxury bags, which is what people keep espousing as a benefit of Chanel caviar. Personally, I don't think "carefree" and "luxury" belong in the same sentence (but perhaps that's because of the tax bracket that I'm in).
I believe the things we buy should be used as intended, and therefore they may be scratched and show signs of wear. They’re supposed to tell our story.
