Avers in my opinion is smart in remaining isolated from the web with their mfg. systems. Air gaps are still today the safest and most reliable safty systems available until AI can stand guard as a gatekeeper sentinel and protect an organizaton from harm by outside hostile/mischievous agents/organizations. While it will always be attractive even seducing to let company personnel and customers active and potential have access and flexibility to a companies computer systems and it's impossible to prevent unwanted mischive and disruption at current tech. levels. Pretty good video. Guys said it right at the end they make sure everything they make they're able check themselves. I've seen too many times shops with gargantuan German made multi axis wonders but lousy inspection capabilities or collection of hodgepodge CMMs each with completely incompatible softwares because the management wanted to cut corners & bought a cheaper clunker. Inspection depts always get the bad rap but why not since they are starved of capital to invest in state of the art tech? Not to mention trying to get training within the dept is like winning a lottery. Good luck with that. So we have schools that don't teach zilch QC, shops that are reluctant to train QC & low pay for the level of responsibility that keeps people with QC potential away. What can possibly go wrong?
What an awesome shop. 'If you're not getting better you're getting worse', that is such a true statement.
I love to see a company that invests in equipment to be on top of the game AND provide great working condition for the employees
good video Ian
Nice Job Chris & Ivan. Everyone here at Fox Tool & Mfg. is very excited to be part of the Avers team.
