The DC-4/C-54 did not have reversible pitch propellers, but the DC-6/C-118 (this is a DC-6B) and DC-7 series were all capable of reversing their propellers. I never used wheel brakes on landings, and often did not even need to reverse the props. Wheel brakes were mainly used for taxiing, runups and parking until chocked.
@@therickman1990 Yep. The DC-6 and DC-7 and the L-1049 Super Connie had reversible pitch props. My dad flew C-47's and C-54's. He flew B-17 F models in WW2.
This video shows a nice feature of the dc-6. The only complain is that the plane didn't fly in the video. In fact, I think that the crew were not pilots but maintenance people. Anyway, nice your video,👍
