Everyone is a little twisted ^^ His name is not Japanese, so you pronounce it in English. Gin comes from Japan, therefore the pronunciation of G is different. And kurapika is such a strange name that I don't know if anyone came up with this name while under the influence of drugs or if there is a country where similar names exist. As a European, I have never heard such a name.
While this is a good episode if you haven't read chapter 1 of the manga, if you did read it, you know half of what the author wanted his readers to know was left out. I strongly suggest either reading chapter 1 of the manga or watching episode 1 of the original, 1999, adaptation. The producers of 2011 trimmed for pacing I think, and wanted to not yet reveal that there is a very serious undertone to the series.

Kurapika for eyes and backstory, Hiei for general attitude and looks, and Vegeta for color and function in narrative.

Hunter x hunter 1999 and hunter x hunter 2011 is both master piece i hope in the future they combine the 1999 and 2011 story to be the greatest anime
