I cannot understand for the life of me why the English media believe their own hype that England have the best players. All the best players in the Premier are foreign, the best coaches are foreign. On the other hand Spain supply top players and coaches to all other countries, including the Premier League, they are footballing giants compared to England.

    • @Unpopular_Truth
      @Unpopular_Truth หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Accept the highest performing players last season, Foden, Palmer, Saka, Watkins are all English and 7 out of the 10 of the highest goal scorers of all the time are English, so all the best players in the Premier League are not foreign. It's clearing a coaching issue at intentional level, especially under Southgate who is a P.E teacher. English players play better for their clubs because they are in a more settled system and know their roles. Even in the Premier League it can take a team a month to settle and find form, but at international tournaments they only have a few games.

Jude Bellingham gets into any team in the world (he’s already at Real Madrid), an in form Harry Kane gets into any team in the world, so does Saka and so does Foden (when playing his his correct position). So, this also means that those players are world class, fact. Apology accepted👍

Williams better than Foden (as a left winger). Saka is perhaps slightly better than Yamal. Current injured Kane is not better than Morata as weird as that sounds. Rodri and Ruiz are both better than Rice and Mainoo. Carvajal is better than Walker. Laporte equal to Stones.
Those replying "England are better, Mourinho would've won etc." No the Spanish players are technically better and they proved it by easily dominating the ball and creating more chances. Those individual players like Bellingham, Foden and Kane had good "goalscoring" seasons. That's not the same as being individually better for your positions than other players

Southgate picking the same 11-12 players every single game despite them struggling to create a single chance for 70 minutes, then seeing players like Palmer come on, change the game and create match winning goals and then drop to the bench the next game! Ridiculous!! Why not give these super subs a chance to start a game? Then maybe we won’t have to go 1-0 down and panic trying to find an equaliser with the clock ticking down.

No mate, pressing is one of the most basic attributes of any footballer, pressing just means pushing up on our opponents and is NOT a skill that needs to be learnt. Either Southgate’s tactics dictated how we played OR the players were just too cagey. To say this needs to be “learnt” at youth level is ridiculous, it’s basic. Even an average Sunday League pub footballer knows how to press (push up). If your post was serious and you really think this needs to be taught then we are either in more trouble than we thought OR you know zero about the game of football🤣🤣

6:50 Pennant makes a good point ; it was only when foreign coaches and players came to the UK that the PL took off , it wasn't English players that made that happen. The coaches angle in particular ; no English coach has won the PL , that says plenty. Eriksson and Capello had a go but Eriksson was not elite and Capello wasn't suited to the English culture.
I say give a foreigner another go , at least we'd see a team thats easier on the eye.

I disagree and I will point you to the below list of objective facts rather than just simply providing my opinion.
      Kane-Top goal scorer in Bundesliga
Foden - Voted Prem best player
Bellingham - voted la liga best player
In terms of goals scored in the most recent season across all comps, the following players all scored 20 goals or more:
Kane, Foden, Bellingham, Palmer, Watkins, Bowen, Saka
Now please show me another national team that can boast that? How many did Yamal and Williams score last season? You can not deny that the above mentioned players all had exceptional club seasons coming into this tournament, otherwise you are just ignoring facts.
Before you mention the EPL is overhyped, please note it is the no.1 ranked league in Europe by Uefa, it is not a farmer league. Plus you had the likes of Kane and Bellingham doing very well in overseas leagues.
Clearly the English squad, certainly from attacking perspective has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to form players yet they didn't score more than 2 goals in any game. I think its Gareth and the coaching staff who have to take responsibility here for not extracting the best out of the squads strengths here.

The main issue in the tournament was relatively simple. Kane, Foden, Bellingham and Saka were not an attacking four that were ever going to do it. They just don't work together. They all want to play in the same space. Kane, even when fit, needs wide runners, and those attackers all need a forward like Watkins who stretches the play so they can break into space. It was never, ever going to flow and most people spotted it very early. Southgate persisted, and it was our downfall.

England last won a WC in the 60s and Spain won the euros once in the 60s as well and before 2008 didn't win anything. In the last 17 years, Spain won three Euros and a World cup. The moral of the story is you can become the country that wins in such a small time as long as you have the right players and attitude. "We don't do that" is such a negative mindset.
