Kane literally didnt run for pure games. No movement, no link play, Clearly injured. Just like Switzerland, we played with 10 men with Kane on the pitch v Spain.
He doesn't need to run. He needs a manager who is smart enough to surround him with runners. Not wingbacks and two players fighting to be the number 10
LOL What is he talking about? "We reached the final bla bla, where are Germany, France, Portugal etc.? They aren't in the final..." LOL, bullshit, Sam. England reached the final because it was in the other half of the draw, separate from these teams you mention. Germany, France, Spain and Portugal were all on the other side of the draw. That's why lucky Southgate's England crawled to the final.
I am looking back, and I think Southgate has benefited from bizarrely good luck in the draw and brackets, over and over again. In fact, Southgate has "achieved" while rarely facing obviously good teams at all. In the last FOUR big tournaments, the strongest teams England has prevailed against were a pretty good Colombian side in 2018, a bizarrely poor German side in 2021, and a pretty good Netherlands in 2024. When England faces teams we would rate better than those three, they crumble. Now, there is no shame in losing to Croatia (2018), Italy (2021), France (2022), or Spain (2024). Yet, England under Southgate seems in no danger of winning a trophy, especially since they seem to be playing worse IMNSHO than in WC2022 or Euros2021.
@@ComradeOgilvy1984 Even with that I think your being generous. Colombia 2018 were weak since James Rodriguez wasn't shining and Netherlands was v.avg. I mean they came 3rd in their group and barring Gapko and VVD possibly the worst set of players they've had for a tournament? Not a patch on Robben, RVP, Van Basten and co.
@@siddharthreddiar3353 Indeed. Depay and VVD are good, but not great anymore. Gakpo is the only Dutch player who seemed consistently threatening. Even Netherlands with prime Wijnaldum and a younger Depay were much more troublesome, not very long ago. Seems to be a team in generational transition.
Kane knew he wasnt fit enough but put his own ego first, it was the same thing for Spurs in the champions league final against Liverpool. You cant win anything playing with 10 men but Southgate didnt have the balls or sense to drop him.
Kane should have been on the bench. Going back to 1979 when Nottingham Forest were in the European Cup final, Archie Gemmill and Martin O'Neill were carrying injuries. For obvious reasons they told Brian Clough they were fit, but Clough didn't select them.
España ganó a Croacia, Italia, Alemania, Francia e Inglaterra. ¡¡¡Felicidades!!!
You're right, France, Germany, Italy, Croatia. We managed to avoid playing them all. We were forced to play Holland unfortunately. Could've been Turkey, but we got that penalty for nothing, so that was good. Pity we didn't get free pens in the final too.
Kane made an identical challenge against Spain but won the ball followed through and made contact and nobody said that wasn't a foul. Yet it was and got booked for it . Both were fouls
@@BobMacay Kane against Holland was not a pen. Dumfries block was hardly a foul and on top of that Saka touched the ball with the hands 2x just before ..
I can't believe some people are saying Southgate is the greatest manager in English history. That is intentionally misleading praise. That's like saying: "My kid finished 3rd in track and field yesterday" "How many participants were there?" "Three" It is technically correct but it is misleading because it is ignoring context and nuance. England were awful in the stats and in the eye-test.
Theres no captain in that team. No leader, no one organising in game. Henderson was never the best player technically, but his type of player was what was missing. He wouldnt have allowed england to keep dropping deep, he would have led the press. He would have been talking to his team mates constantly. There was no one in that team running the game on the pitch. Walker said after the last 16 game. I know we keep dropping deep after scoring, but its not something southgate has told us to do. That was ridiculous thing to say, as he was basically admitting he could see it happening in game, but didnt have the gumption to tell his teammates as it happend, push up, dont sit back. No leadership, too many players being picked in the wrong positions or in systems that dont play to their strengths. If you have to squeeze trent in by playing him as DM, dont play him. If you have to squeeze foden in by playing him as a left winger, dont play him. Sam even agreed. The whole tournament has been a joke, and scamming their way to the final was just increasing the pain for everyone. Safegates tactics with that bunch of players is just awful. Hes far to cautious to be an international manager of such a talented squad
I think nicey nicey wokey wokey Southgate tells the players to be nice and not shout at each other or upset the opposition. Last world cup think we got one yellow card and WINNERS Argentina had about a thousand.
Excellent summary. The one thing I don’t understand is the defensive tactics that were there in every game this time round but not in previous tournaments where we had stronger opposition to beat and did so. Southgate didn’t become ultra defensive overnight, a leopard doesn’t change his spots. So it must be down to the players, even if they were played out of position which I agree was a main reason we were so out of sorts this time
You know, this is actually a GREAT point I haven't heard any 'experts' / pundits (or even fans) mention. Jordan Henderson's leadership, communication & intelligent tenacity more than made-up for his technical deficiencies. This England side have a profound surplus of highly-paid & extremely skilled 'superstars' with impeccable technique. Some of the most talented players at their position in all of world football. And you know what? They all do extremely similar things on the pitch. Jordan Henderson is exactly the type of player they DONT have. A gritty, physical, vocal, in-your-face workhorse who takes pride in doing all the dirty work for which these 'superstars' like Kane & Jude & Foden are too important. Spain had a quintessential Henderson-esque player in Cuccarella, and he gave England fits all match long. And then he assisted on the tournament-winning goal in the 85th minute, as probably the least-talented and least physically-imposing player on the pitch. You can teach hustle, you can't measure heart, and you can't quantify the impact of those intangibles in any metric. But I'll be damned if Jordan Henderson wouldn't have been doing all those same 'little things' that massively impact winning as Cuccarella was for Spain.
Pickford played poorly all the other Eurocup games, I don't understand why bringing a goalie like Ramsdale who is not playing with Arsenal and not using him for the national team as well.
@@ANtr431 With all respect, I believe Kobie Mainoo played an amazing Eurocup, considering his age and experiece in the premierleague. The best English player is still Harry Kane though.
He's entitled to his opinion and he was outstanding, regardless of game time. What he's alluding to is that Softgate should have given him more game time.
It's not the loss that shows Southgate is an indecisive & weak manager. It's his playing Kane despite obvious evidence Kane isn't fit that disqualifies Southgate. England has better strikers sitting on the bench. Ivan Toney, Bowen & Ollie.
Ahhh shut up with klopp. Have you heard yourself. Embarrassing comment 😂 The amount of brain cells prefering a foreign manager is so daft. The players ARE good enough to do better. Footballs not some perfect manager cheat code. Nonsense saying the only thing wrong is the manager. Your comment lacks intelligence. Based on player energy and performance I promise you klopp would have lost aswell. Stop pretending footballs a computer game 😂.
That's the crux of the problem right there. Even Sam said that the PL is too restrictive and the systems don't allow for local talents to flourish. Well, send them abroad. It doesn't have to be the Bundesliga, La Liga, or Serie A. Send them to the Netherlands, to Belgium, to Portugal. The FA has this baseless arrogance for thinking that everything is better in England. Um, when did you last win an international tournament with the men's team again? Speaking of, the women's team deserve way more support.
Tbf its the tradeoff between getting an English manager a job and getting in a world-class manager in who still wouldn't guarantee a trophy anyway. Saying that Klopp>Potter
In international football, you don't necessarily have to play your best players; you have to play your best team. That means some of your best players will have to be on the bench.
Yeah I said exactly that to my mate. Against Spain, youre unlikely to have the lions share of possession yet in NO WAY shape for form were we set up to hit on the break. Early days Klopp's Liverpool were devastating at this and obviously many other sides too but it needs to be a PROPER game plan, set up the right way...
Spain were sublime as a team. Their press, passing and movement was on another level. They wanted to win and England didnt want to lose. England's set-up and overly defensive mentality cost us dear. Can Sky do us a favour and actually have some decent analysis/a programme dedicated to what England need to do to fix these problems and win a tournament? Instead of endless soundbites and ex pro's saying how negative England have been under Southgate....and then go into the ridiculous 24x7 over-hyping of the Premier League. Doubt that will happen though, as the Premier League is their cash cow.
with respect to Big Sam, you CANNOT use injuries and inexperience as an excuse. The euros take place every 4 years. Injuries are a factor for all the other countries. It is up to the coaches to plan their squad accordingly, so they can peak at the tournament. The fact that Southgate was "experimenting" in certain positions for the first two games of the Euros tells you just how under-prepared England were. England were extremely fortunate to get to the final, being helped illegally by VAR along the way, so people in England should just accept that one of the main reasons that the EPL is so good and popular is because they have top quality foreign players.
Spain worked unbelievably hard without the ball. England should have released the handbrake and gone for it. England have a group of extremely skilled players but they need guided by one of the best managers in the world.
Spain got the desire to win, England hasn’t as weve all seen it…will some players has, but definitely not Southgate with his team selection and tactics😅. Jack Grealish must be …🍺🍻🥂🍹🍸😂😂😂
What exactly does Jack grealish for man city for goodness sake? What sort of wingman hardly scores any goal? You really wants someone like that in your team?
There was a slight moment just after the equaliser where England should have really gone for it but just went defensive and let Spain press them into defending for their lives for the last 10 minutes.
Spainish football is far more superior to english football, period. The epl is the worlds most overhype and overated league with less quality, laliga is underated, lt has won a record more CL, europa, ballondor, and uefa mens player of the yr
The league’s have nothing to do with it . Real Madrid have 2 x Spanish players in the first team . England had a manager with zero managerial credentials, if the next manager is Graham potter magic will happen .
@@lilydog1000 Oh not me Bitch! I have seen all the teams that go as far back as Italia 90. England had a much better team at Euro 96 & 2004 and 06 World Cup. Those teams were much more competitive compared to the other teams of the time. It was a lot more stacked team with the likes of Shearer and Gascogne, Shearer, Owen and Beckham and then the team of Owen, Rooney, Gerard, Lampard, Sol Campbell, and John Terry. On the other hand your current team made it to the final by miracle. Everybody knew they were not going to beat Spain. You knew that as well. Stop fooling yourself! And I ain’t a yank either. Nor am I a Spanish or a Spanish fan.
This English squad was overrated. Harry Kane was either fatigued/injured/he’s aged faster than we thought. The CBs weren’t impressive, weak spot at LB. Rice is not on Rodri’s level, Mainoo good but too young. Saka and Foden are good too but overrated. It’s hilarious the English media put so much pressure on this team when they’ve actually overachieved considering the lack of quality. There was a time when England had Terry, Rio, Cole, Neville, Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes, Rooney, Owen etc. And they didn’t win with that squad & yet these fans are expecting them to win with this? 😂😂😂
I think he was meaning that Spain didn't get knocked out before the final despite being the best performers. So we weren't playing the others in the final that weren't at it like us.
@@WeDemandGlitterhoof Don't be daft. We've got great players and a terrible manager. Our media have some stupid takes but you're right up there with them right now with this one.
Mike Bassett sorry Big Sam says the prem stops the development of England players yet apart from the home win in '66 this is Englands best ever period, we had great flair players in the 70s and couldnt even qualify for tournaments and the 80s was no better. Top managers arent interested in International jobs which is why people hoping for someone like Klopp are deluded 😎
I've read a good article (Guardian) how England lost the final in a 10 minute spell just after the equalizer. Starting wih a Walker throw- in back to Stones, we didn't touch the ball in the Spanish half. Spain regained control, kept possession, any time we had a chance of a break we gave the ball away or Spain tackled to win it back. Then Spain made it 2-1, though still needed Olmo to head off the line. Worth anyone watching again what happened after Palmer's goal.
You can't play out from the back. You can't keep possession. It was the young new players who carried you that far with a lot of help from the players which hardly got on the pitch.
Genuinely shocked that Allardyce came on and gave this BS interview. How Southgate is getting sympathy support for getting to the final with THAT SQUAD despite those awful performances is beyond me, but then again, it’s very British so I wouldn’t understand.
They're probably the 3rd or 4th best team on paper in the world. This is about their standard. But I doubt they'd have gone past the semis had they been on the other side of the draw.
@@keyboarddeserter I agree in the sense that their midfield and defense aren’t anything special. Just remember KALVIN PHILLIPS was irreplaceable, that’s the state of England’s midfield pool. But the offensive talent is as good as it gets in my opinion and none of them showed it.
@@Bread_Garlichouse my criticism of him and the team has nothing to do with results because you’re right, they achieved what would’ve been about expected before the tournament started. My criticism of him is the fact that the only players whose abilities were maximized were the 2 CBs and the GK. Every other player in the starting lineup was lethargic all tournament. I think it’s fair for a team-wide issue to be put at the coach, because that’s his job. Maximize the team’s potential whatever that is.
Alf Ramsey didn’t pick the best players, he picked the best players to fit into the system of play that he wanted. A number of that England team weren’t the best player around in their position, but together they gelled into a memorable winning team. Managers since have struggled to find that balance.
I manage a team ( bit less quality thn england ) but I say to players - if you don't do the bizzo, don't expect to stay on the pitch. And if your replacement does the bizzo he keeps his place. That motivates people like kane and bellingham who think their place is guaranteed. And the players like watkins who came on. How demoralising is it for watkins to see kane on the teamsheet, and having one touch in the penalty area in an hour, after he came on and scored in ten minutes ? Upshot is, I said before the game, I would have started with watkins and palmer. I would have also told Bellingham he was a borderline starter based on his overall performances. A story geoff hurst himself told me in person. After the 1966 final where he scored a hat trick alf ramsey shook the hand of each player as he got on the team bus to leave wembley. The next game was in October I think. Ramsey did his great game Bobby well played Nobby stuff and when he got to Hurst he said well done and thank you etc Hurst replied "see you in October" To which Ramsey replied - If selected Geoffrey, if selected !
I was fed up with kane after 5 minutes I could see it was like the group games no attacking just now and again ,kane on walkabout that's all he done now bring on the young guns and get them ready for the world cup the best team of the tournament won so we can't change it
why do people keep saying this? He just spent five minutes talking about how Kane wasn't up to the job, and that we shouldn't play players who can't perform in a particular position - then adamantly tells us he would have kept him on the field? You cannot get more of a contradiction, and it proves that despite what he claims, he's fallen for exactly the kind of thinking he just advised against, and the opposite of what Ramsey did with Jimmy Greaves.
Achieving another final without playing any of the best teams on the way and then losing against the first quality team we meet leaves us all with quite a hollow feeling:(
Just one comment, in spain we were always having high hopes and poor results, party because of big egos. In 2008 Luis Aragonés, the manager who started the 2008-2012 era decided to leave out Raul, plus some others, you can’t believe the shitstorm he had to go thru, but he created a TEAM and won…
Nowt to do with one of the greatest generations of players of all time all emerging or reaching their peak at that exact moment then? De la Fuente has actually done something far more impressive than Aragones or Del Bosque by winning something with a side that is made up of mostly decent players who are nothing special.

But that's all a pipe dream because the FA will only hire another well behaved PR merchant like Gareth. In days gone people wanted Clough as England manager but the FA wouldn't dare let an outspoken and sometimes volatile bloke like that have the job, no matter how good of a manager he was. Eddie would be the best English candidate as a manager but it's too early and he's not been in enough big tournaments at club level to judge. Even if I agreed with the sentiment of only English managers - as good as Eddie is - I'm not sure how well he'd do right now. Maybe one for later.
Ridiculous. Even if Kane told Southgate that he was fit I am sorry but he doesn’t need to rely on Kane s opinion. They can judge it in training. 15-20 mins into the game Southgate knows his fitness. Get off Kane s back.
TH-cam is plagued by videos of Kane diving. A real player doesn't have the time to moan on the floor, a real player is always busy being focused to keep trying and creating opportunities out of thin air. He's not cursed, he's just a useless player over-hyped by the media because they need to create a sense that England is great to keep the audience engaged despite it being very bad, dirty, 0 sportsmanship and dysfunctional like their fans, economy and politics🤣🤣🤣
Why aren't England prepping their youth and under 21s coaches who have had success for the job of taking over from Southgate? As an outsider looking in it seems a logical long term plan
When you watch good teams you can almost see the links between them . The ball moves around quickly. Everything is just so much smoother. Everybody seems to know what they are doing. Bad teams are always stop start. There is never any flow.
England has some excellent players available for the squad, but I think that the media hypes them up too much. If you go through the first 11 from goalkeeper forward, there are varying levels of quality. We played most of the tournament without a left-back for Christ's sake. I rate Southgate as the best England manager in history off the back of the last 8 years. I know that a lot of the players achieve success at club level, but they invariably play with world-class foreign players. In my opinion, we have a core of excellent players, very few of whom have the 'X-Factor' that will truly worry international opponents. One of them (in my opinion) could be Trent, who suffered from his team-mates refusing to find space for him to damage the other teams - a basic flaw in the execution of the game-plan to say the least. During Liverpool's success in Europe, Trent bossed the games from right-back (how many players can do that?) and world-class teams were terrified of him (but still couldn't stop him). I know Saka is a wonderful player, but his style of play cannot be sustained through a tournament; a decent team can neutralise the threat from the wing relatively easily (unless it's a truly great player like Mbappe) - Spain just doubled up on him all night and Cucarrella and Williams then capitalised on him not doing the same. Looking through the rest of the squad, there is (maybe) Bellingham or Palmer that have the potential to have that 'X-Factor', but neither are proven yet. It's not unusual; most countries have to make do with merely brilliant players and rarely do players ascend to the levels I'm talking about. Germany have none that I can think of. France have two. For all their 'Golden Generation' hype, Belgium had none that I can remember. I believe Spain have four or five contenders in that squad and last night was an announcement of more to come in my opinion.
I stopped reading after "I rate Southgate as the best manager in history" and I'd say 99% of others did too. I rate you as the worst judge of a manager I've ever wasted a few seconds on.
Musing: Football, for the best part isn't rocket science. One team attach and the other defends. The difference between success and failure - attention to detail. Southgate (and his coaching staff) were unable to see what most other professionals, pundits and fans could see... Kane, in particular, wasn't replicating his club form. Both Watkins and Toney did more in their cameo roles than Kane did... Along with Kane, Bellingham was for the most part ineffective. Cole Palmer is in the form of his life - he should be ahead of Saka, Foden and Bellingham in terms of starting. Southgate's substitutions were too late - and in previous games he got lucky. It was plain to see that the midfield was labouring - he had changed the shape and dropped Bellingham to be a holding midfielder and he isn't one. Spain were on top 5-10 minutes before they scored the second goal - Gallagher and Trippier warming up when they should have been on the pitch. In fairness to Walker who gets sucked into the middle of defence, Mainoo had lost his marker and Walker should be marking Williams... and for the second goal, I think it is Saka who has lost Cucerella...
You know jack about him or football, he's a dinosaur ; couldnt wait to get rid at West Ham! He shouldn't be in the game after the fast ones him and son pulled caught red handed then he got the England and got sacked because he's a greedy Cnut!

What an achievement, Back to back Euro Cup finals, no any team in the Euro Cup history can achieve this rare feat except England themselves........ All credit goes to the England team for playing back to back Euro Cup finals..........
gareth southgate literally chose so many attacking players in this england squad.. just to play the most passive defensive football he could.. harry kane should not have been starting games either.. every time we won the ball in midfield, instead of kane pressing the backline or trying to make a run past the other teams defence hes first choice was to always drop back deep towards our own half, its why we literally in every game never had chances at the other teams goal.. we played without a striker... gordon, watkins, trent and palmer should have had more game time and started in games and we couldve won this tournament and looked decent in most matches.
As a Sunderland fan we were dead & buried in the Premier league. Until Sam took us over, 1st thing he did was make us hard to beat he sorted our defence out. It took about 4 or 5 games to make us solid. He then started on the attacking areas but he made our midfield solid & physical in the middle & got 2 fast wingers in. No big boot football at all. It was entertaining & after 6 or 7 games wr were flying. Ultimately we stayed up only getting beat about twice. England took him from us, we fell to pieces & he was out of the job at England before he'd started basically. Don't underestimate for 1 second his knowledge of knowing how to win football matches. He proved it time & time again with so called unfashionable clubs against the big boys. I honestly believe we would have won something by now if he'd kept the job.
Agree, Allardyce would have been solid with this group of players: Solid system, good set pieces and get the attackers on the ball in front of the goal more.
@@sladewilson377 No just pointing out that 25 other euro countries would have loved to have England's record in finals. But at least we have won the World cup, maybe your country one day???? maybe not.
Spain were better than us, they are better than us. There's no shame in that. We now have to try and do something about it. It's changing now I think. The France approach, reactive, moments, keeping it tight is over. Not just Spain, Germany, Portugal, are proactive 'club style' teams, pressing etc. We can and must develop our game in that direction. We have the players. I don't know if we have the managers - Graham Potter? Eddy Howe? Or are there other, lesser known coaches? We need technical expertise over big names IMO.
Spanish level and quality of football is way above that of the EPL. Spanish teams have won more European trophies compared to English teams. Spanish players are more technically gifted, of high quality than English players. The biggest problem with English football is that they believe they are the best and, that they have the best league. This is not correct. Infact, the quicker they accept they have average players, the better for them and this will help them work hard and make improvements
Sam Allardyce has a lot of experience, and gave an interesting 🤔 and measured insight here. What strikes me is how much he WANTS to see us get over the line. So do the likes of Wright, Shearer, and Ferdinand. I want to see someone with that passion manage England. We have the players who can bring success, but not the 'X factor' to bring it home. 😉 Credit to England 🏴 for making the final again, but, We BADLY need a winner 🏆. Southgate has brought us so far...but his time is up. Too tactically cautious. Spain 🇪🇸 WERE the better side, but we were tactically naive with the 2nd goal. Stood off, stepped back...my Mom of 86 could have put that in! We came up short. Let's not kid ourselves....
you can't just blame southgate the English players are overrated they don't have better players than spain or portugal or france or Germany. its just English media overrating English players. no they don't have more talent. spain starting 11 are better than all england starting 11 maybe goal keeper only from england can make it into spain

Bobby Robson made the same mistake by not building his 1986 & 1990 teams around Hoddle Kobbie played poorly & Kane was brave but his injured back held him back. Guehi caused the 2nd Spain goal via a bad long ball turnover & pickfords saves were very good but his passing long balls were poor. U can't win big cups with 34% possession. U need at least 40%. England have nothing to be ashamed of they lost to the best team of the tournament. Just keep chugging head and developing good players. We've reached two finals in three years. There was a time not so long ago that the quarter-finals was an achievement. Let's get behind this team and push for the 2026 WC and win it.

Southgate just oozes mediocrity, and that is transmitted to the players.
I thought Spain were good but England were bad and didn't really get going. We got the luck of the draw to get to the final, if we had met another strong team like France/Germany we would probably have gone out earlier. You're right. That decision to play was on Southgate and Kane.
We didn't have another skipper in the side and it showed. In the old days any of the defenders would have made a good captain.

No point playing a final if you can’t win it.

You're right, France, Germany, Italy, Croatia. We managed to avoid playing them all. We were forced to play Holland unfortunately. Could've been Turkey, but we got that penalty for nothing, so that was good. Pity we didn't get free pens in the final too.
Got a deflected goal though :) Palmer’s shot went via a Spanish foot.

That's like saying:
"My kid finished 3rd in track and field yesterday"
"How many participants were there?"
"Three"
It is technically correct but it is misleading because it is ignoring context and nuance.
Thankfully someone speaks the truth
Very well said agree 100%
Did he say that we did well because we got further than germany or portugal? Did he know that spain were on that side of the draw?
Why Phil Foden was in starting line up in every game? He was the worst player in England team. I wish Palmer or Gordan was there instead of him.
Completely agree, should have been pace and width up front instead of Kane/Foden. Trippier too finally gone when Shaw was back.
“We” lol. If you’re going to pretend to be English at least learn how to construct a sentence in something that vaguely resembles the language.
Foden is a chav. It's beyond me how a chav can be considered for the English starting 11.
Pickford kept the dream alive, but Spain's beautiful first touch football is just too good and ended up prevailing.
Pickford played poorly all the other Eurocup games, I don't understand why bringing a goalie like Ramsdale who is not playing with Arsenal and not using him for the national team as well.
Pickford was the best England player in the tournament imo.

with respect to Big Sam, you CANNOT use injuries and inexperience as an excuse.

Pickford should of got an award for being the most exciting player in possession

When you watch good teams you can almost see the links between them . The ball moves around quickly. Everything is just so much smoother. Everybody seems to know what they are doing. Bad teams are always stop start. There is never any flow.
we need to play players in their best positions and how they play for their clubs. Spain did that and won. no need to complicate it.
cant really do that though, as not all the teams play the same way/formation but I agree with the sentiment..

Football, for the best part isn't rocket science.
Why do we need his Opinion? No seriously why?

You know jack about him or football, he's a dinosaur ; couldnt wait to get rid at West Ham! He shouldn't be in the game after the fast ones him and son pulled caught red handed then he got the England and got sacked because he's a greedy Cnut!

Kane looked like a 5 year old in his own empty space, confused, ignored
my head hurts
As does my heart .

What an achievement, Back to back Euro Cup finals, no any team in the Euro Cup history can achieve this rare feat except England themselves........
All credit goes to the England team for playing back to back Euro Cup finals..........
Spain did, but they had the decency to win them both
England is absolutly not good team, just they are moment team.
gareth southgate literally chose so many attacking players in this england squad.. just to play the most passive defensive football he could.. harry kane should not have been starting games either.. every time we won the ball in midfield, instead of kane pressing the backline or trying to make a run past the other teams defence hes first choice was to always drop back deep towards our own half, its why we literally in every game never had chances at the other teams goal.. we played without a striker... gordon, watkins, trent and palmer should have had more game time and started in games and we couldve won this tournament and looked decent in most matches.
Spain was hands down a better team
Big Sam forever!
explain reality so well
As a Sunderland fan we were dead & buried in the Premier league.
Being a Sunderland fan excludes you from having opinions on football.
I'm an Everton fan and he was garbage.
@@JI7NKJ 😂😂👍👍
Agree, Allardyce would have been solid with this group of players: Solid system, good set pieces and get the attackers on the ball in front of the goal more.
Should be reinstated . Crazy FA . Big Sam for me all day long .
English fans never learn always overhyping your team and arrogance is the worst part of it. Hope you are humble now.
Yes so arrogant, fed up of reaching 2 finals and 2 semis, need to give other countries a chance.
It’s the media that hypes up the team for click bait not the fans
They will never change mate.
@@Williamfattyfoulke261 so your bragging about bottling competitions?
@@sladewilson377 No just pointing out that 25 other euro countries would have loved to have England's record in finals. But at least we have won the World cup, maybe your country one day???? maybe not.
The Kane issue will be down to the next manager! Going forward we can’t build a team behind him, so what’s the point!
Don't you mean DISGRACED former England Manager? Entrapment has won. No Sam, your utter greed won. 😆
Sam giving his big opinion 😂😂😂
Spain were better than us, they are better than us. There's no shame in that. We now have to try and do something about it. It's changing now I think. The France approach, reactive, moments, keeping it tight is over. Not just Spain, Germany, Portugal, are proactive 'club style' teams, pressing etc. We can and must develop our game in that direction. We have the players. I don't know if we have the managers - Graham Potter? Eddy Howe? Or are there other, lesser known coaches? We need technical expertise over big names IMO.
Gary O’Neill or Michael Carrick.
England 'work' football, they don't play football!!!
Portugal were awful in this tournament by the way.
@@Enzoblueblood Good call, Gary O`Neill...
Can't beat top nations ain't good enough simple and won't change unless can one day get a good manager
100 % An Englishman, Big Sam for ENGLAND! Wish he had not left SAFC..
Yeah to be fair, Gordon learnt a lot from playing 4 minutes of football.
you can't just blame southgate the English players are overrated they don't have better players than spain or portugal or france or Germany. its just English media overrating English players.
no they don't have more talent.
spain starting 11 are better than all england starting 11
maybe goal keeper only from england can make it into spain
The only man who would have won the World Cup and Euro’s
🤣🤣🤣
Played 7 games 1 decent half against holland kane played in quicksand started every game Southgate tacticaly nieve and too matey with certain players .
Why does England need an English manager, we've had them and won fall
@@1983andyjm the last thing England needs is an English manager. Sorry but English tactics are too outdated, no more 442 with long balls to win trophies nowadays. Additionally no English coach has won the PL ever, that says a lot.
Why are you the minority race in your own country?
@@777LxxxIronically, 4-4-2 and long balls probably would have won us this tournament at a canter.
I get what you are saying but there is no way they were beating Spain
I agree with you what what does it matter if a foreign manager came in or a Englishman came in as long he can win a major trophy for England it should be the best person for the job Gareth Southgate done the right thing to step down as England's manager he was successful to a certain point but he can't get over the finish line he's taken England as far as he can take them he gave his best but he wasn't quite good enough
Seriously, they’re dragging out big Sam. Please, it’s simple. We are not coached and not a team. It’s not rocket science. We need a quality coach. The FA need to get out and find one.
Get Klopp or Pep or Jose or Carlo. We need a serial winner boss to turn silver into gold. I saw 1990 & 96. This is much better than a semi loss on pens.
We mainly lost cuz we failed to sub on Trent. The only great long ball passer 3 🦁 have. Bobby Robson made the same mistake by not building his 1986 & 1990 teams around Hoddle
Kobbie played poorly & Kane was brave but his injured back held him back.
Guehi caused the 2nd Spain goal via a bad long ball turnover & pickfords saves were very good but his passing long balls were poor.
U can't win big cups with 34% possession. U need at least 40%.
Spain extra day of rest & fresh starters in Defence after yellow card bans made a big difference in aiding Spain.
Nice Gareth was not as brave as Sir Alf, who dropped unfit world-class Greaves to win 1966 WC.
Harry, as an impact sub wuda been fine.
The Maths Profs sent lots of messages asking for ice cole & Trent to start of be subbed on at 65 mins.
Bobby Robson & Sven wasted huge talents of Hoddle & Scholes. Nice Gareth is wasting defence splitting world-class skills of TAA & Palmer.
GS is too loyal to Harry & Foden & Saka & Kyle on our right flank & and Pickford, who turned over the ball many times via bad long balls. Capello said to Skys Kaveh Solekal that it was the main reason we lost to Croatia in 2018 in the Semi.
Impact sub Latauro won 3 in a row cups 4 Argentina. Harry cuda been our Lautaro Martinez.
Brilliant observation by Big Sam at 8 minutes approx. We have a small talent pool due to all the foreign stars & bosses in the EPL.
Don’t think any individual English players is as good as yamal and nico Williams
Saka and Bellingham individually are equivalent to them I would say
@@mircopaul5259 I think Bellingham is good but doesn’t shine against a top team. Maybe u might have a Spain’s system benefits these players
Foden, Saka, Palmer, Bellingham
World teams are learning to press higher up which means unless you have pace you’d b redundant like Ronaldo n Kane
England have nothing to be ashamed of they lost to the best team of the tournament. Just keep chugging head and developing good players. We've reached two finals in three years. There was a time not so long ago that the quarter-finals was an achievement. Let's get behind this team and push for the 2026 WC and win it.
Thank you Harry Kane. If nothing else you’ll be remembered for all the trophies 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
South Gate is not good enough
Big Sam laying it on a bit thick in NOT criticising ENGLAND and SOUTHGATE .
We have the talent to win the World Cup. Play to win put the best team on the pitch not the best players. Find a manager who can unlock all the talent we have.
That man is Sam Allardyce, we need to bring him back
@@johnd769 What you need is a manager with a winning mentality who isn't scared to make controversial decisions (like benching Kane). That's what Luis Aragonés did for us Spain in 2008 (leaving Raul home) and what Luis De la Fuente did now (leaving Sergio Ramos home).
Southgate just oozes mediocrity, and that is transmitted to the players.
I thought Spain were good but England were bad and didn't really get going. We got the luck of the draw to get to the final, if we had met another strong team like France/Germany we would probably have gone out earlier. The players still care more for their clubs than their Country. We have some players who are technically very good but they don't have the determination/desire/fight of someone like a Keane/Gerrard/Lampard to get the team going.
Southgate and Kane need to go now and make a fresh start
I don't think England will do anything in the World Cup.
