I know what you mean, but I don't know... The quiet and tempo she put in this is extraordinary, brutal, like a bulldozer of grace. Very few her age are brave enough to let the notes hang in silence like this, unless copying or instructed to do so. Angelina can even make silence sound good.

There's too much packed in there to rush it. Like many of you, I have listened to many Anjelina covers. She is certainly a prodigy. Her voice is astounding, yet understated, and in the few video's where she is writing things down, or talking to the producers, or conductor, you have a sense that she knows herself well enough to consciously change the music to suite her better. And yet the real difference with Angelina is the tension of contrasts. A girl with a woman's voice, a reverence for classic songs, many created generations before hers. Complicated works of art, simplified in presentation into their purest form; genuine innocence side by side with genuine wisdom, and the uncanny ability to tap into our deepest well of emotions, often ending in a smile and a wave, as if she didn't just do THAT to a song. I don't know what will be lost, and what will be gained as she becomes an adult, but her talent will be honed to a razor's edge, and if for only that, the excitement is palpable.

TBH Angelina's cover is the first time I heard the song. Or maybe I heard it before but it never gets into me. I always see in thumbnails of reactors reacting to Diana this song but really never get the chance to listen to it. So after I heard Angelina's cover the first thing I did is to try to listen to some of the cover performances of the song. The song is good for power singers and most of them went for the power.... Angelina did went for power too but it went under the disguise of being solemn. I know I'm not the only fan who look forward to your reactions. A few days ago I watched the video of Angelina singing Wicked Game. I have watched and listened to every one of Angelina's performance and felt here were no surprises left. Well! I was wrong. This performance is the most emotionally charged one she has ever done. After listening to her version, I went to versions by Chris Isaaks, Diana Ankudinova and several others and, as you say, they are all different. Sorry guys and girls but, in my opinion, those other singers may be able to read the lyrics and know the meaning of the words but Angelina Jordan is the only one who "lives" the lyrics and the emotions within them. The only one who can identify those emotions. The only one who can put both lyrics and music together and convey those emotions to the listener. Of the many young singers whose careers I follow on TH-cam, Angelina is the one for whom I have the greatest respect as, unlike many of the others, she never "over sings" a song and her performance always touches me emotionally. Music is an emotional art and if there is no emotion it is pointless.

I'm glad she stayed independent so she can finish school (which her & her mom really want) & keep her creative freedom & not be tied down with contracts. Great parenting & smart girl. God has been watching over her, I think God gave her the gift of discernment & kindness & giving & love. (Not all the glitters is gold) Plus they keep her away from the Hollyweird cult getting their claws into her & brainwashing her & chewing her up & spitting her out once they made their money.

A few days ago I watched the video of Angelina singing Wicked Game. I have watched and listened to every one of Angelina's performance and felt here were no surprises left. Well! I was wrong. This performance is the most emotionally charged one she has ever done.
After listening to her version, I went to versions by Chris Isaaks, Diana Ankudinova and several others and, as you say, they are all different. Sorry guys and girls but, in my opinion, those other singers may be able to read the lyrics and know the meaning of the words but Angelina Jordan is the only one who "lives" the lyrics and the emotions within them. The only one who can identify those emotions. The only one who can put both lyrics and music together and convey those emotions to the listener. Of the many young singers whose careers I follow on TH-cam, Angelina is the one for whom I have the greatest respect as, unlike many of the others, she never "over sings" a song and her performance always touches me emotionally. Music is an emotional art and if there is no emotion it is pointless.
