- This was the final Cherubs show of our initial run. As best as we can recall, this was the only live performance after the 1994 release of our 2nd full length LP Heroin Man. Video was shot on a CAMCORDER (ha!) by Dave Thompson who was trying to film his favorite band while also running the club, bless his heart. His commentary throughout is some of the most hilarious shit ever.
The tape was damaged over the years so there were many blank spots that had to be spliced together. If you're an audiophile you may opt to just watch the chaos with the sound muted. A very heartfelt thank you to Eric Hartman and Dave Thompson for believing in us and always making us feel like rockstars, as well as the peanut gallery of friends and family cheering us on from the side stage (much to the chagrin of MrThompson) and a huge thank you to Justin McCoy for always loving and protecting us.
This show was dedicated to the life of Dave DeLuna, a prince among men.

this band changed my life, especially Heroinman. I need to tell a few stories concerning this band. My best friend when we were 16-17 asked for some recommendations at a tiny local indie record store. They immediately told him to purchase cd versions of Heroinman and Short of Popular. Upon listening, he was converted and played them for me with the same result. We would sit in a parkinglot and spazz out to Cherubs in the car, crawling around, convulsing and throwing trash around the car. Fast forward a few years and he and I are catching our first freight train out of Baltimore to Philly. Complete adrenline rush and adventure. We land in Philly and catch a cab somewhere where we found a tiny rock and roll bar. We go in with our packs and get a beer. There's like 3 people in there, older rock dudes. The bar tender starts chatting us up. He mentions being from Austin. I instinctively ask if he knew the Cherubs, he flipped out and said yes, he was friends with them. He couldn't believe we were fans. He then claimed to have been present with the band while mixing Heroinman on acid. We left stoked and slept in some bushes downtown and rode back the next day.
about 2 years later, I was in a Lakota sundance as a supporter in upstate NY. My life was changed upon attending this, and I left and went home with "Playdough" stuck in my head. I picked up my guitar and instantly finally figured out how to play it. I proceeded to play and sing it for 2 hours straight. I was possessed by that song. My creative channels were opened fully after attending the sacred thousands of years old Lakota sundance ceremony. Shout out to the Cherubs and the Lakota Sioux tribe, Pine Ridge and Standing rock fighting to save Earth.

bless your heart and the train you rode in on, especially for throwing trash around the car while listening to our band. It is an honor to be the soundtrack for such wholesome and important life events such as this. You and I have some things in common, as this band also changed my life, and I have obsessed over and been possessed by the song Playdough since the beginning. I have requested it be played at my funeral. We will be touring the US this spring and summer, announcements will be made on our IG page @cherubsbandatx. If you are able to come out to a show, please be sure to introduce yourself so we can know each other.

This is a national treasure, next to the constitution, of course. That bands like Ed Hall, Cherubs, and Painteens coexisted at one point is magical in my life's book.

Gnarly show , i would NOT survive the pit during the Mr Goy set hahaha , cherubs are awesome , so many underrated noise rock bands out there , hammerhead , fudge tunnel , etc etc . Maybe in another universe cherubs got picked up by some big record label after the whole raw neiche rock band craze (started by nirvana in the early 90s) and they played some shows at some stadiums 💯💯💯 I love cherubs !!

That was Bruce Dye who is no longer with us on Earth, not sure about the footage he took, sorry.
