I remember back in the day when I lived with my Mum and I watched this on VHS, instantly rewound and watched it again. Brilliant. Glad you lad's enjoyed 🍻
One of my all-time favorites. It's also great fun on a rewatch. You notice different things, like the fact that, in the very first scene, Keaton clearly recognizes the man who walks up to kill him...he shakes his head and laughs mirthlessly as he realizes he's been had. You also see that Keyser has a gold watch and gold cigarette lighter, which Verbal picks up as he leaves the police station.
One of the greatest twists in all of filmmaking. This is one of only three films I rewatched immediately, the other two being "Memento" and "Dark City." RIP great filmmaking.
After this movie was released, every Tom, D!ck, and Harry adopted “Keyser Söze” as their email/forum/online name for a couple of years. This is a fun movie to watch with a group who haven’t seen it.
This is one of those movies you never forget. As much as you liked this, you should really watch The Game (1997) with Micheal Douglas. One of the best movies in this genre that sticks with you forever.
The ending was spoiled for me about a week before I got to see it. My brother and I were in an art house theater watching Four Rooms, and struck up a conversation about movies with a stranger when the film snapped. I still enjoyed the movie in spite of it. Based on this reaction, I’d recommend LA Confidential, Memento, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Well done, guys!
Great reaction! This is the best twist ending movie ever, IMO. Brilliant acting, writing, directing, everything. With additional watches you will note the subtle hints that Verbal is Keyser, however when it comes to deciphering what really happened versus the tale Verbal spun, there aren't any clear answers. As you both noted, he could have made it all up, although more likely there was truth mingled in, especially when it comes to events like the murder of Saul and the taxi service heist as surely Kuyan would know if those two were real. The degrees of what was truth or fiction cannot be definitively known, and this topic has been fodder for hot online discussions/debates for three decades! Another fabulous twisty movie is Primal Fear with Richard Gere and Edward Norton.
The two best movies from that period are this one and "LA Confidential" another who-done-it with Kevin Spacey in that one too. It is well worth your time if you haven't seen it.
a Perfect movie. and also a Lot of hints, from the thick urine to how he holds his cigarettes. even the name, keyzer size translation is basically babble king (verbal). in the end there was no one behid the ropes lol and indeed, how can you shoot the devil in the back, when it's you! 😂
Why this "twist" works so well? Because we are playing a game of "Who done it" .... being told BY the guy who did it all along, as if it WAS someone else who was doing it. Which is why when the truth is discovered, you have people who are in shock, some who get confused and needs time to understand it, and some who just applaud the sheer amount of confidence to do it so blatantly in front of everyone and getting away with it because the characters involved WANT to believe it was someone else from the start.
Gabriel Byrne thought he was Kieser Soze right up until he saw the premiere. Apparently he was not happy. Thankfully it wasn’t him, that ending would’ve sucked.
16:26 Well spotted. It's the Flatiron Building, in NY, a historic landmark that was in John Wick but also in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and all three Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies.
Great reaction guys. You both need to work on your Kermit voice lol . One of the best ending’s ever I know we all were waiting for that last minute. Keep ‘em coming Dave from Indiana
There was a large article years ago which I think was in empire debating who really was KS or if he even existed. It didn’t have one single answer and hurt my head to read!
A lot of people never fully grasp the ending well done, keyser Soze actually lost. He left before the police station before the drawing and the agent worked it out. Soze thought he had won and no one knew him in actual fact the whole movie was about killing a witness. Now the agents can all finger him.
I think most of his story was true, however he used the board to maybe fill in some blanks or change names (ie. the Lawyer who picked him up at the end).
Have you seen once upon a time in mexico? Imo its johnny depps best film, even better than the pirate movies. Theres some suspension of disbelief required and continuity is a bit dodgy vbut its EPIC and considering hhow many killings its a fun ride,💙🇬🇧😅
I think you guys need to watch "CRASH" with Brendan Frasier, Sandra Bullock and more RIGHT after this ... that's a movie one will NEVER forget ... just focus while watching eeeeevery moment ...
I remember back in the day when I lived with my Mum and I watched this on VHS, instantly rewound and watched it again.
Brilliant.
Glad you lad's enjoyed 🍻
This movie is top of my "wish I could watch again for the 1st time" list
Ha! This, The Game, & Seven for me.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻⚡🥃

I've worked in the film industry for 25 years. This is my favourite movie.
I can see why, very well made movie
perfection, just perfection
It’s damn good. Another gem with Spacey is LA Confidential. Just great.
One of the greatest twists in all of filmmaking. This is one of only three films I rewatched immediately, the other two being "Memento" and "Dark City."
RIP great filmmaking.
Yeah "Memento" is hard to wrap your head around the first time.
One of my favorite twist ending movies ❤❤❤
How have you avoided the twist of this for so long? 😂
What a film and what a twist! 😎❤️
You’d love LA Confidential!!
No idea but we are so pleased we did...
Mind blowing
This is one of my top 5, great to see you two get it, almost as good as seeing it for the first time
After this movie was released, every Tom, D!ck, and Harry adopted “Keyser Söze” as their email/forum/online name for a couple of years. This is a fun movie to watch with a group who haven’t seen it.
Great reaction to a Classic.
Cool discussion and analysis.
Virgil having a criminal history with boys was a dark foreboding.
Great reaction guys.
That ending blows everyone's minds .
Ps... That looks like a very well loved acoustic in the background.
Cheers 🍻
This is one of those movies you never forget. As much as you liked this, you should really watch The Game (1997) with Micheal Douglas. One of the best movies in this genre that sticks with you forever.
The Game is awesome. One of those movies I really wish I could see again for the first time.
Best reaction ever! TY!
The Usual Suspects won two Oscars best original screenplay and Kevin Spacey best supporting actor. One of my favorite films from the 1990s.
This movie was incredible
The ending was spoiled for me about a week before I got to see it. My brother and I were in an art house theater watching Four Rooms, and struck up a conversation about movies with a stranger when the film snapped. I still enjoyed the movie in spite of it.
Based on this reaction, I’d recommend LA Confidential, Memento, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
Well done, guys!
3 +1's to all these recommendations.

I recommend Lucky Number Slevin if you like mystery thrillers. It's a good one as well.
They might well be the first to ever react to that one...I've never seen anyone do it before.
@Corn_Pone_Flicks I've seen some! Just type in the name of the movie and reaction and you'll find some who have.
Kevin Pollak is such an underrated actor. The list of great movies he has been in is staggering.
It has to be the greatest twist of all time.
Such a great film. Especially for those of us who got to see it in theaters without knowing anything about there being a plot twist.
Always a joy watching you both react I wish I was sat in the room watching with you both another awesome reaction

As if more proof was needed that the 90's was the golden age of film...
Spoiler alert: Kobayashi is not only a lawyer but also has a side business making coffee cups!
@15:29 RIP to those iconic buildings.

If you like suspense with flashbacks, you definitely need to watch Memento with Guy Pearce. Another amazing film with a great twist at the end.

Lewis, stop growing. You're freaking me out. Kid grows faster than my puppy.
This is great, I'm so happy you're both watching this, 😂❤aussie girl x
Gabriel Byrne thought he was Kieser Soze right up until he saw the premiere. Apparently he was not happy. Thankfully it wasn’t him, that ending would’ve sucked.
One of my favorite movies. I was actually surprised at the end when usually i can figure out amovie pretty quickly. ❤❤
16:26 Well spotted. It's the Flatiron Building, in NY, a historic landmark that was in John Wick but also in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and all three Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies.
Such a fantastic movie man!
Great reaction guys. You both need to work on your Kermit voice lol . One of the best ending’s ever I know we all were waiting for that last minute. Keep ‘em coming Dave from Indiana
For a great older twisty crime movie, I would recommend "The Sting" starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford. Plus Robert Shaw (Quint from Jaws).
The crimes happened. But Verbal fudged on the details in his confession. They thought he was a small-time operator, but he was working the long con.

Thanks to Ken and Lewis! 🎯
Verbal Kint: Madlibs champion of the world.
Nah, he’s the dark prince of improv class!
The young lad reacting has a good narration voice..
he also walked away with 91 million lol
🤣🤣......Kobayashi😂😂Keyser😂😂.
No. They did go to L.A.. The ship was real.
I think “Gattaca” would be a fun reaction if you haven’t seen it.
This and the sixth sense are known for their twists but does anyone have any recommendations that compare?
I think most of his story was true, however he used the board to maybe fill in some blanks or change names (ie. the Lawyer who picked him up at the end).
Excellent reaction gentlemen!
Have you seen once upon a time in mexico? Imo its johnny depps best film, even better than the pirate movies. Theres some suspension of disbelief required and continuity is a bit dodgy vbut its EPIC and considering hhow many killings its a fun ride,💙🇬🇧😅
They’ll need to watch El Mariachi & Desperado. It wouldn’t make sense to start with the last film of the trilogy 😅
I love Johnny Depp in that film. My favorite line "Are you a MexiCAN or a MexiCAN'T"
No haven't seen them
@@juankusoff I'm not so sure, I didn't see the other two and found the flashbacks gave me all I needed to know
Please, please watch Atonement.
🙏🏻 Such an underrated masterpiece with unecpected plottwits.
WHO'S KEYSER SOZE!?!?
I have a request: Superman the movie 1978 starring Christopher Reeve. The only Superman.
The magic of an unreliable narrator
Film critic Roger Ebert (RIP) didn't like this film. Go Figure!
I think you guys need to watch "CRASH" with Brendan Frasier, Sandra Bullock and more RIGHT after this ... that's a movie one will NEVER forget ... just focus while watching eeeeevery moment ...
Have you watched Law abiding citizen? Staring Gerard Butler, really good movie guys
