Beta testing the altitude and location awareness of the Hoverair X1 Pro in manual mode

I Beta tested the Hoverair X1 Pro altitude and positioning. This video shows the altitude and distance testing in manual mode using my android phone only. It has great stabilization with the 2 axis gimbal. I went from 2 meters to 80 meters and straight back down to see if it would come back to the exact location it started from and it worked like a champ. Super impressive Zero Zero Robotics.
Zero Zero Robotics invited me to be a beta tester for the new X1 Pro drones. I really like the fact that they listened to their customers and made a lot of the changes on the new drones people requested. Things like higher video resolution, added remote control and beacon, expandable storage, extended batteries, 2 axis gimbal, 8k video, flying over water with omniterrain and so much more.

How did you know the distance, because I didn’t see an altimeter , such that I know the distance?
is there a away in manual mode to set this up to work without using the phone? like a custom preset mode? so that during the shot I don't see myself using the phone? and I'm not referring to the pre existing preset modes, like zoom out or birds eye, because as far as I know these modes have a maximum distance....right?....I want to bypass the maximum distance
