    I wanted a tablet that could also serve as the perfect laptop replacement. I bought the S8 ultra and haven't looked back. I can do audio and video editing, content consumption, light web development, and the list goes on. This is coming from years of using only Apple tablets.

    I was upgraded from the Tab S6 to the Tab S8, since I prefer my tablet to be something more portable and only use it for media consumption most of the time. It really serve my purpose well. Thanks for the comparison, it is really very informative.

      Sure, but they drop pretty significantly before the launch too. They really want to sell as many as possible so they don't have all of these extra tablets on hand

      I'm hoping that they'll come out with like a Snapdragon 8 gen 2 + but have a even much more beefyer version of the Snapdragon 8 gen2 Plus for the Galaxy tab S9 Ultra and have more memory in the the tablet other than its S8 Ultra counterpart

    I purchased tab S7+ , because it is cheap now, it's awesome, their is very little difference between S8+ and S7+ the quality of these samsung galaxy tabs is out of this world ,12.4 inch screen, 120 hz refresh rate and super amoled of my S7+ still have the great value today 👍

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree. Software is a big difference though. The S7+ released one update behind. And it had less updates overall promised to it. So I'm pretty sure you won't get any more big os updates on the s7+. That's about the only downside. Other than that it's not a significant upgrade at all.

    I had my S8 since last year and really loved it. Ordered it from Best Buy just before it came out, getting a free keyboard cover with it. It's my go-to tablet for the small, portable factor, easily carry it around the house. The screen is a good size for me, especially when I lay in bed with it. Perfect for casual, everyday use imo.

  • @Regulus37
    @Regulus37 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Thank you for this video. I just recently bought a open box Samsung Tab S8. I want to go for the 8+ for a little bigger screen size but it will go a bit over my budget so I settle with an S8.
    I am not usually fond of trade in when I can sell my items for more than the trade in value, however, this is the case for physical games and mobile phones. Tablets on the other hand, seeing your trade in value which is actually pretty amazing deal, it is actually not a bad idea to do trade in with tablets.
    I think my plan is I will use my S8 and when S9 comes out, I will probably do a trade in for S9+. I just hope I get a good trade in value like yours in the future.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hopefully. I'm guessing you only paid maybe $500 for the Tab S8. So what if they give $400? The tab S9 won't release until like August or so. That's $100 to use a tablet for 6 months. Not bad. They did drop the values on more recent phones, but I'm still hoping for at least $400 for the S8

    Ever since the Air 2 and Tab S2/S3 Apple and Samsung tablets have been a disappointment to me. I couldn't pass up the $200 trade in credit Samsung offered for the Tab S2, especially since apps stopped working with the OS being 7.0, but the form factor was the best for holding the device for long periods of time while having OLED. Even Apple ruined the base iPad with a minor increase to the display size and weight when compared to the Air 2. So I have the Tab S8+ now and am still stuck in the middle. It's just too big to hold for long periods to read and is a weird form factor when using it as an e reader. It's great for emulation and media though. I wish Samsung could have kept a Tab S "classic" model around for people like me.

    I was hoping for a more update alternative for the iPad mini but all the Samsung tablets seem to be much larger and the smallest is only slightly smaller than my Ipad Pro 12.9 I think it is. I'm wanting a tablet that's mini size mostly so I can read ebooks, draw, listen to audiobooks and watch youtube. The biggest issue I have with the iPad mini is it only has 64GB storage and a fair portion of that will be system use. I'm constantly running out of space on my S21 phone because of my audiobooks and that has 256GB storage. I also really care about the quality of the image, I want to watch 4k video and for it to be as colour accurate as possible but in the iPad mini size. I also already own the ipen 2 so that would save me a fair cost but neither company offer quite what I want. I also Really care about the audio quality and want to be able to listen to high resolution audio. I wouldn't care if it cost as much as the 13 inch Ipad pro, if I could get everything I'm wanting from the tablet in an 8 inch tablet whether its Samsung or Apple, I would be happy to pay the premium to get my ideal iPad/Samsung mini Extreme 8 inch tablet.

    Considering where I live, no land line & therefore no router...I need a tablet that can access either lte or 5g cell phone network, the question is: can these 3 tablets do that? Or are they as best buy advertises as wifi only?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you see Wi-Fi in the title it's going to be a Wi-Fi only tablet. If you want to wait there is the potential for the tab S9 series. And there is a potential that they will release with 5G versions of some tablets right away. If that happens, and we can only hope, that may be a good thing.
      I think there are some cellular versions of these tablets around. But unless you see it specifically mentioned with saying LTE or 5G in the title, normally it's just going to be a Wi-Fi only tablet. In your case you may want to wait and see what Samsung has in store

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  ปีที่แล้ว

      Every tablet is typically going to be Wi-Fi only unless they advertise it as a cellular tablet. So when you go to buy it, does it say Wi-Fi? Or does it say LTE or 5G next to it? If it has 5g or LTE in the title, it's a cellular tablet. You can also go to your cellular provider and see if they sell a cellular version. But the general version of any tablet won't be cellular. You normally have to buy a specific version for that. So in short, if you go and buy any Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra at the store, it won't be cellular. You will have to find one with the title that has LTE or cellular or 5G in that title. Hopefully this helps

      Samsung has a lot of laptops and even with that description I'm not sure exactly which one you're talking about. Some of them work with the s pen but some of them require you to buy a Windows ink pen.
      As far as the tablet, it's hard to say. I hear a ton of people say that they don't even notice the difference between the tab S8 and the S8 plus even with Amoled. Some people say the screen is terrific on the tab S8 anyway. And some people notice the no OLED and complain when they get the tab s8. I think it really depends on the person. The screen is still great on the tab s8, it's just different for everyone as far as who appreciates the oled or not. I would look at another Factor like screen size to help you make your decision. If you want a smaller screen size I would try out the rab s8. You can always return it if you don't like it. But if you want a bigger screen I'd go with the s8 plus

      It's possible. I released this before the S23s had low trade values. So that's important to consider. Trade values may be down for the Tabs too. It depends it. What price you get it at. Nowadays you could find those on eBay in mint condition or even refurbished with a keyboard for like $300. I found mine for like 250. It's great for that price. But if you pay like the full 450 bucks or so you're getting really close to being able to just buy a Tab S8.. but if you find it on sale for a reasonable price under $400 new or cheaper on sale, absolutely. The one last caveat I'll add is that it will get a little bit less software updates than the newer tab S8 lineup.

    Should i wait for s9+ or buy s8+ now? Really waiting for your opinion.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Man, so sorry for the late response, I moved and had a lot going on, normally I'm more responsive. It's a really tough call. My video covers it pretty well. In the US there are really good trade ins they SOMETIMES do. So a good way to play both sides is to buy a cheaper used Tab S8+ on ebay, and trade it in when the S9+ comes out.
      The S8+ has good software support, so it is going to be a great deal when you see it on sale, or used. But the S9+ will have better battery life I'm sure, and be a little faster, overall it's a tough call. It depends, do you want to save money and get a tablet now, or do you want to spend a little more for a better tablet later? And are you willing to buy used now (if you are in the US), because Samsung TYPICALLY (not all the time) offers decent trade in deals anyway. And you would probably get your money back in the US, since they may offer you a similar price to what you would buy it for used.
      Hopefully this helps

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's hard to say. I think it will. But it may be closer to $200 to $400. Hard to say where it will land. Every year Samsung has had terrific trade values but with the Galaxy S23 they really nerfed them. So it's possible the trade in values won't be as good as I thought.
      Either way though, I still think you will get an okay value for your tablet. Probably similar to what you would get on eBay

      I would recommend just buying a separate keyboard, a bluetooth keyboard. At least you can pull it out if you need one. I always would carry a $20 tablet bag/laptop bag, and a mouse/keyboard. In my opinion, the regular Tab S8 is best for mobility. S8 Ultra is best for a large home display, but it's not that mobile. S8 Plus is some where in between, but not as good either of the other two. It really depends on your use case. On airplanes if you sit economy, the S8 is best, but if you sit business class, then maybe S8 Plus. For me, S8 and Ultra are best for my use cases. The S8 Plus isn't that mobile compared to the S8 and the S8 is still big enough to look at. I don't know what the difference is in terms of functionality because I pretty much only use these things as displays. I don't use them for Dex or much else. The Calculator app is also pretty good on Samsung compared to IPad OS.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you click into the description of this video, I have a link to buy the Galaxy Tab. S8. If you click the Samsung link, it will take you to the Samsung website where you can select the Galaxy Tab S8 and it will ask you. If you want to trade in. You can select yes and trade in the Galaxy Tab S7 there. It will take money off the tablet up front. And they will eventually email you a label. I'm pretty sure that email you a label after your other tablet arrives. And you will just mail it through FedEx to Samsung. It normally takes them a few days to inspect it and approve it, but that's how it works. Hopefully this comment helps

    How about the Galaxy Tab A series?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The A Series is good. Great for people on a budget. If you're looking under $200, the Galaxy Tab A8 or the Lenovo M10 FHD (3rd gen) are your best options. But if you're willing to go a little higher, the Tab S7 FE has a lot of great deals on eBay, it's a much larger screen and they were selling them refurbished WITH a keyboard for like $300. You can also find the 2022 Tab S6 Lite with an spen around $250. So if you can swing it I'd try to get this models for a good price. There's an old 2020.model of the S6 Lite so be careful not to grab the wrong one
