  • Gigantic redwoods as far as the eye can see. Good luck trying not to hit one.
Erik Anders Lang heads just north of San Francisco, California to explore a once-hidden MacKenzie masterpiece on this Adventures In Golf, presented by United. The 9-hole course is a gem, but the vibe you get at Northwood is undeniable.

I use this channel as an example of expert film making. There's such a large leap in difference between good film making and great film making. I'm blown away by the colour grading and compositions. Truly inspired by this and random golf club. Watching the break 90 series and it's a Vlogg. and it's got some of the most beautiful shots I've ever seen this is a truly fantastic short documentary. Thank you.

This is probably one of the best things I've watched in years and that includes anything that isn't golf related. What a place. I wish more golf courses had this ethos. None of the elitist attitudes, no one is made to feel small or unwanted - a true homage to what this game can and should be.

We rented an Airbnb at Bodega Bay for a week and my father in law insisted we take a drive and play this course. Truly beautiful. I’m shocked I never played it as a youth since I grew up in Mendocino county on a small 9 hole course called Brooktrails which is also surrounded by Redwood trees but not nearly as beautiful as this gem👍👍👍⛳️🍻 Most of my vacations revolve around golf. Scottsdale area, Monterey, Florida, Hawaii, Palm Springs, etc and this course was packed with fun loving, non pretentious, cool people, which is a rarity👍

I was lucky enough to work as a Marshall at Northwood for 2 years. Gaylord and Verne his golf pro were two of the nicest and most genuine people I've ever had the pleasure of working for. I have nothing but good things to say about them and the course itself. Gaylords son Trevor was just a little kid when I worked there but he was there helping his dad everyday! Northwood is an absolute gem of a course and must be played to be truly appreciated.

If you love McKenzie, you have to check out his other course designs in the greater Bay Area. Meadow Club in Fairfax is private, so good luck with that. Sharp Park in Pacifica is a public, very affordable McKenzie and the best one, in my opinion, is Pasatiempo in the hills above Santa Cruz. Alistair had his house( still there off the 7th fairway) there too! Bring your 'A' game to all, they are classic courses!

I had to pause after the intro scene and say that is a really cool opening. Whoever thought that up is really talented. Well done!

I’ve commented on your first video of the Wood. A friend called me today to talk and told me about this video. I told him thank you. These were the words I shared with him. After talking about golf and watching these videos.
“ Talking to you today about the Wood man.... makes me remember where I left my shadow... I used to always be able to look behind me and know where I came from but lately it's not there. Thank you for the call. Thank you for sharing these video links. It may be 2022 and caddy shack may be in the past but it's still... well it's still the game of golf sir.....Cheers man I mean it. Thank you. I look forward to Friday.”
And thank you sir for the videos

Had the chance to play this a few summers ago, inspired by this video. I played first thing in the morning as the sun came through the trees. Absolutely beautiful.

Erik, thank you. Your style and variety of content as it relates to the game of golf often transcends the game. 17:13 "Tell me about your dad". Is it the tone of your voice, the cadence of the words, or something else? I say all of the above. It's one thing to ask questions, but the best story tellers ask the first question, then let dialog and emotion dictate the rest of the discussion. We may not always realize what makes a particular course so easy to enjoy, yet we can't get enough. I feel the same about the content you create. Thanks!

What an incredible and beautiful story, you can tell how much love there is for/on/about the course. Thank you for sharing this. This is the reason I love golf, there's nothing else like it.

I think this might be my favorite episode! I might be a little biased, as I’ve played this course my entire life, but the cinematography and interviews were spot on this episode. Amazing work 👏

Unbelievable interviewer. First time viewer. now a subscriber. The ability to connect with people on such a philosophical level while interviewing turning that into replies from the person youre interviewing is amazing. loved this

This video is easily one of the most sublime videos I’ve watched about “Golf”. Truly, emotionally moving. Now from Oklahoma, I can’t help but feel the need to make this journey to the mystic Redwoods. Bless💚

Wow Erik, that was incredible. You have a way of tuning-in to the emotional core of golf. And on a visual level those shots with the light shining through the Redwoods made for some stunning golfing images. My respect to you (for always reminding me why I love golf) and to the family, owners and members of Northwood for cultivating this rarity of a golfing gem. Peace from Sydney, Australia.

Thank You for the great video. To me this is the essence of the sport. It's about the people, the relationships between the people, and the physical course. We are all entwined together.
It's not about the $, but it's the experiences in life that matter the most. Well done on capturing the heart and soul of the Golf Course.
