    Nice! Your children will always remember these camping trips even though your daughter doesn't care for roughing it right now.

      Yes, we are all about building good memories for the kids. We like to think that despite the grumblings of our oldest, she will look back on this time fondly.

    One place that I love is the Forest Road 171 Campground - up on the rim. South of SR 260. When you get to the top of the rim turn right at the overlook and follow the road. You can also turn right on the Young Road and go south just over a mile and turn right again. This is dispersed camping with a camp host and over 50 spots. Beautiful!

    I’m actually from Kirkland but I’ve been to this area quite often. Definitely a great place.

    Ginger to aid the motion discomfort. Always have Soda crackers. Driving that slow, make the kids get out and run in front of you, give them the "job" of trail spotting, pointing which track is best. The monsoon rains in Prescott are about a third to half of that they are in Flagstaff, in my expert opinion. I enjoyed your camping vid.

    My wife and I were in Prescott last year for the first time and I said, if someone blindfolded me and took me to that area and then took the blindfold off, I would never guess I was in Arizona!! We were there a day after a rain (yes, it rained when we were there too)!! Everything was so green, blue skies with beautiful puffy white clouds!! Loved it......hated to have to head back home to California!! Great video! Thanks!

    I love this and all videos! Cracking me up on your versions of the ride up! (.. I agree with Mrs. Arizona Dreamz- they need some guard rails up there" - chuckles) Beautiful scenes and enjoy seeing the family! Keep boondocking, keep vlogging and enjoy!

    Welcome to all, but please don't forget the TOTAL stay limit in the National Forest is 14 days per 30 over all. Not camp site, FOREST. Also, if you're going fast enough on a Forest Road to need a guard rail, you're going too fast for the road.

    Mr Arizona, Mrs Arizona is killing it ! Too funny! At the start of the video, I was like, where are WE going? That ride would have broken a bone on me!😆. Tell the boys they were suppose to continue working on that rock path, then the next campers would do the same. Teens like your daughter usually bring a friend along to buddy up with. Well since the powers that be have put the kibosh on fun travel, I won't be coming to AZ this year, maybe never. But I will buy an Arizona Dreamz tee. I'll rock that for a bit. Thanks for the entertainment!

      I think at the beginning we were ALL wondering where that road was taking us! Lol Glad you enjoyed our latest adventure. It’s a bummer that your travel plans have been interrupted. Maybe next year will be better. And we’d love to have you wearing one of the tees! Thanks for your support!

      Glad you enjoyed the video. And our daughter loves her comforts, so she would be happy with an RV for sure. Having fickle children and sometimes going long spells without camping, we are still debating if and when we should get one.

    These camping videos are awesome. Keep doing it. These fire restrictions aren't an "always" thing. Some years the mountain areas get so much snow and get enough spring rain and monsoon rain to where you can light natural fires in the summer months. But by October, these current ones should be lifted, and that Kaibab National Forest region south of Williams is amazing. If Covid is under control by October, I'd strongly recommend a camping trip to those woods south of Williams, and then make a day trip into Williams, and then go back to your campsite. There's a taco place right by I-40 that lets you use their bathroom and has great tacos. And you can zipline over the town of Williams. There's this whole "Fall" festival and the whole town is alive and popping. It's a really cool annual Northern Arizona event that isn't widely known.

    • @LivinOurDreamz

      We look forward to when the fire ban is over. And thanks for the trip suggestions and things to do!

    Great video, I am heading there this weekend in my JL. Did you air down your tires before taking that road to the campsite?

  • @PsychHacks
    @PsychHacks 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The route you took was almost a super highway. I wish you could see the Jeep roads that my dad took us on when I was a kid. It only had to look like it might have been a road in the last hundred years and, if it went up - he always wanted to be up high - then he'd take it. It wasn't at all unusual for us to pile out of the car to help him move large rocks and rotting logs to fill in the holes and make a road that the Jeep could travel over. There were a lot of times, I seem to remember, when I couldn't understand for the life of me how what we were doing could be fun. LOL

    • @LivinOurDreamz
      @LivinOurDreamz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think our kids are going to have similar memories. I find the road less travelled to be pretty fun in the Jeep. However, trying to convince some members of my family that it’s a fun adventure is proving to be rougher than the roads themselves. Lol

    You guys are funny...thanks! Hello from Wisconsin. We are going to be heading to AZ in about 6 weeks...camping...Van and tent. going to try a little gold prospecting...smiles. Going to do the dispersed camping...never tried it. And my partner is the hesitant camper...who would just as soon stay in a hotel room while I camped...smiles. But...it's going to be fun I'm sure. Any suggestions on destinations?

      We enjoyed camping in Sedona (check out Forest Roads 525 and 535). I’ve heard it can be crowded, but when we went, we found a spot with plenty of space and great views. Although it did get dusty. Gold Canyon (Superstition Mountains) is another place to check out (we haven’t camped there personally yet).
      Always have some shade source because the AZ sun can be intense no matter the time of year. And double check the temps to make sure it’s not too hot during the day for your comfort or chilly at night (temps in the mountains can drop considerably after the sun goes down). Have fun!

      It can get hard to keep these teens entertained and happy without their comforts of home. We’re glad our youngest two still enjoy it. If you figure out how to get your teens to love it, please pass on the tips. 😉

    Another great video! I heard Mrs. AZ Dreamz mention Dramamine for the nausea you guys get. Have you tried Sea-Bands? They're like little elastic wrist wraps with pressure point knobs. No medication, so no side effects. We used them for our little grandson Barfy McBarfsalot, aka "Ralphie" and they worked wonders. To see if they really worked, we didn't tell him what they were for to avoid placebo effect.

    • @LivinOurDreamz
      @LivinOurDreamz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have not tried Sea-Bands. We’ll have to give that a shot. Our youngest is also a Barfy McBarfsalot (Lol) and while Dramamine helps the others, it is hit or miss with him (and leaves him groggy). Thanks for the suggestion!

    Awesome videos! Maybe you can help me, I've been in AZ for 3 years now and lived in Glendale, Peoria, and now Tempe. I just signed a new 1 year lease, but after this year I'm looking to move to a better area and rent an apartment. Only reason I signed a new 1 year lease is because my job is right down the road, literally 2 miles away. BUT I cannot stand dealing with shady crazy people in my daily life, literally every single day I run into the trashiest tweakers on bmx bikes, homeless people that are mentally ill, and overall just Cop sirens blaring at all times of the day and night. This was in Glendale & Peoria also, maybe I just pick the worst spots lol.
    Anyway any recommendations is welcome, I'm at the point where I won't mind driving farther to live in a nice area. I used to commute 60 miles round trip each day which wasn't that bad. Reason why I'm renting is because I honestly don't know if I'm going to live out here for a long while, I can't commit to a house etc.
    I'm single if that helps, only supporting myself. Make roughly $60K per year.

You leave it better than you found it. other than that enjoy your time and don't start no fires cuz we're in the red flag condition!!!! NO FIRES THAT MEANS EVEN CHARCOAL. And yeah I'm tired of cleaning up after low life's in my backyard.
