*_Waited for the great cut in half, and it never came... boring!!!_*
Spray the canvas with a cheap spray to make them somewhat water-resistant. I had a pair of these for a few years in high school and college. Super comfy, light boot. Sure, the soft rubber wore down over the years, but at that price for casual, good-looking, low maintenance boots can't complain
I had a similar thought but where they're canvas i was thinking too wax them like a waxed Canvas Jacket.
@@adamcuthbert9498downside of waxing is you lose all breathability that canvas normally offers
@@adamcuthbert9498 it would be cool to see the patina develop after waxing them
They are not meant to be, and the spray really only works maybe once, for about 10 mins. You can wax them if you never want your boots to breathe well ever again. These boots were meant for the deserts of north africa.
@@Drownedinblood well I liked the boots and Wisconsin isn't a desert so I tried to make them more suitable for the climate I was in
I got from Palladium a pair of leather sneakers (pretty good shoes imo) and one of the baggy boots. It has proven to be a quite capable late spring/summer boot, considering it has the capability to switch from a regular high boot to an ankle boot. The only advice I can give you is avoid water at all cost with them because if they are of the clearer colors they'll become really dirty in no time and you'll probably need to put them in the washing machine even 2 times. They are studied for hot and dry climates and perform well in that ambiance. For every probable grammatical error I feel sorry, it's 2AM for me and English isn't my first language
The French Foreign Legion boot would be amazing to see.
have you been replaced by ai?
Wat
audio is kinda weird.
He’s been assimilated
Probably the Audio was shit and they used “Ai” to save it
Or he has a cold and Weston's nose is stuffed up
Once again another banger I’ve always wanted to see someone I trust review these boots for years now you’re the best keep it up
Palladiums are my go-to casual shoe. I love everything about them. That Paradrop insole is the best. I actually save them when I wear out the canvas boot and put the insole in my other shoes. Great review.
Always appreciate the knowledge you pass along.
Thank you for all your work. I have worn Palladium since 1978 and always just get whatever is on sale. The basic design just suits and you can do everything in them providing it is temperate climate.Yes 20 plus mile a day no problem other than will need new boots pretty quick. Suppose the Legion men often did not get chance to wear them out. Get right size in any of boots you worked with and I anticipate and hope you will be happy. X
I remember having a sky-blue pair of these in my youth. Bought some just for fun very cheaply in a Dutch harbour city (was on holiday there boat sailing). Wore them until they completely broke down. Had them for several years, really nice boots. Never thought I would see them again, that rubber toe cap thingy looked rather strange to me. Now I have to look through their offerings.
I've had a pare of their pampa baggy leather boots for a few years. They are one of my favorite street wear boots. Light and comfortable, and they've held up well.
Weston sounds either really sick or really drunk in this video lmao
Another great video as always, keep up the good work! Also you sound sick af, feel better bud
I bought a pair of the Pallabrousse Legion for set work and I love them. They area good light weight boot to wear especially in the summer time with all the hot lights and stuff these come through.
I wonder if I could trick my job into thinking these were work boots. Rather have them not notice that they aren't...lol
Cause I really want a pair now.
Thank you for this, I have had palladium’s on my brain since watching I am legend. I agree, I think I will go with the legion👍🏻
I like all of your channels. You present everything in a good way. I also like the production on the video's as well. I learn a lot from watching them...
Great comparison. Thanks!
Cannot wait for my Muggs 2.0. Keep up the good work.
I used to wear these back in the 90s. Really liked them, harder wearing than you'd think.
I'd love to see a larger comparison for boots like these. Keen have a version that is very similar, and then there are some old style or modern jungle boots. Basically, I'd like to see some tear downs with respect to finding a light boot suitable for hot conditions but is also resoleable and durable. Leather is great until the temperatures hit triple digits.

That was actually my first thought that it sounded like AI it was off putting but the mouth movements felt real. If I didn’t watch so many of these videos and am so familiar with the voice I probably wouldn’t have noticed. Really interesting.
Thanks man, this was really helpful
Great video, I like that you are reviewing global brands.
Interesting… never heard of these. Paused the video and used your link to order a pair 🤘
I love my palladium boots. Have several pairs. Have a pair of pampa waterproof nubuck leather for winter and pallabrouse canvas for summer.
Palladium boots are my got to, got three pairs, love em.
i did bought a pair of prototype in 2019 and that was truly insane imo. Waterproof nubuck and the sole were all-for-that-day perspectives. Unfortunately paladium shoes did not make goodyear welted products, so my shoes parts wore off after 3 years of wearing
I bought a pair of boots from them because of your video. 😊
I get their ads all the time, on facebook. I assumed that palladium was a new, cheap Doc's knockoff. Now I'm interested.
Did AI do the sound editing on this vid? Something is very disconnected with the sound.
Yeah I explain it at the end
I think imma pick a pair of these up soon
Bata bullets were very cool
Excellent information and video.
Every time I bought Palladium they developed a hole at the top of my big toe, right where it joins the foot. This would happen way before the soles wore down.
The audio sounds like Ai Generated Weston
Interesting video, I'll be checking them out
I have a few pairs if you live in a tropical area or just always hot. These are perfect not really boots but better than flip flops.
Man, I'd love if you'd do more foreign boots.
Especially in hiking there are some crazy good European brands and different regions have their own methodologies on how one should wear a boot.
In Germany we have some brands like Lowa, Hanwag and Maindl.
Italy is well known to make some great hiking shoes and in Scandinavia you have brands like Lundhags with a totally different approach to boots.
The US are great when it comes to work boots but the heritage of hiking boots in Europe is crazy broads, as well.
I second that! I've had Limmers ( American brand, German built), Vercors, Scarpas, and just got Altbergs (English brand, Italian built) and all have a different, and in my opinion superior, approach than Danners and other American designed trekking and hiking boots. Old World concepts that rarely translate to American manufacturing.
I would love to see Rose Anvil take apart a pair of Hanwag's!
Bought a pair of Palladium’s in Kansas City on vacation one time. Wore them for years before they got ragged out and I tossed them. Recently got one of the Pampa Lite boots with the drawstring elastic laces and the sole separated within a week. Very disappointed.
They did refund me and tell me to keep or donate the boots, which I did.
I was considering getting a cold weather boot from them this year, but I might just get a pair of Jim Green baobabs and wear wool socks instead.
Thank you for the quick overview.
why is the audio so weird? edit: NM, interesting
I have a pair of pretty cheap Palladium waterproof boots that I bought from an outlet so it's like $70. While it looks good fpr the price and is relatively comfortable, rain started getting in just a year of wearing. It still handles showers well but I can't go through puddles without getting my socks soaked these days. Can't say it's a bad pair of shoes since I bought em at a heavy discount but I wish they'd perform for longer.
I was absolutely wondering the same thing
I have a pair of waterproof Palladiums that I've had for 12 years and the leather and sole are durable af even in the city. The shank area is questionable but easily fixed with good insoles.
I have 4 pairs and love them.
I kinda wanna pair of these now. For the price they look pretty good
Genuinely thought someone else was hosting this one as I wasn't actually watching it. There's always one retailer with these on special, so I'm bound to end up with some eventually
I really wanted to like these boots. I think they look great but the fit always seemed off to me for some reason. They felt and looked a bit slim and snug which isn’t the preference for my feet. I’m glad everyone seems to like them.
i have 3 pairs of palladium, the oldest is the Lite model (the one he's wearing and shown at the beginning of the video); i got them in 2019 and abused them way over their intended use and they won't fail. It more likely to consume all the sole than break
I love my Palladium boots
What are those pants? They looked like some kind of knit carpenter jeans, those are incredible.
I think for my money, I'd go for the Hi Originale. It seems like the best of Palladium's best attributes.
Hello to France. Palladium c est avant tout une fabrique de pneu d avion, et chez nous c est très connue. Sachez que d autre marque ont équipés l armee Française pour équiper ses troupes pour l'Algérie et l Indochine. Belle revue, comme toujours.
Dude I need a slip resistant winter boot. I work outside and have walk in snow and sometimes slippery ice. Any suggestions? Maybe do a video.
Baffin boots!
Love the channel cut apart a pair of bordon boots from Colombia please!!
Id like a deeper dive into the legion
I may get a pair of these and wax them, I think they would look cool waxed up
I thought i was going crazy then he confirmed it was A.I at the end 😂
Interesting. I’ll have to check them out. 1 normally wear 15 D but can wear some 14’s. I have bad neuropathy and need some comforting like the AI audio on.
How do these compare to your Lems Boulder boots? I'd love to hear about that as a casual everyday pair.
Yeah, I want to see some of the old made in France military issue ones. Also, the AI audio sounded like you had a cold.
Have had two pairs of these, one pair broke at the crease next to toes and current pair is wearing out in the heel counter. Comfortable boots but they wear out fast.
I can't believe you didn't get a leather version. You're a leather expert 😢
should do a video on the altama martime and do a comparison
Damn, I tried out some Palladium Pampa Sport WPS for the winter in Montreal and before buying I immediately looked for a Rose Anvil video but there was only the old Pampa Hi one... My fiance has a pair and vouched for their comfort, and many people in the video's comments testified about how reliable the Pampa Hi is so i got them on a 33% sale. They are so much sleaker than all other winter boots I saw and the shearling liner is wonderfully comfortable, I wish you eventually get to cut them in half to see what's inside!
As-tu acheté la version baggy? Celle que tu peux replié le haut de la botte vers le bas...
@@marclussier7350 I don't know what's the baggy version, or if that's the one I got. Mine is nubuck upper and shearling lining, the lining is very fluffy and it doesn't release fibers, seems to be authentic sheep skin. The boot is not high, it seems to be pretty much the same overall design as the ones in the video
Edit: i just checked what the baggy version is and mine is not, I'm not a big fan of the fold over look.
@@jorgelinares9686 I have a winter version where I can cuff the top part of the boot if I wish. They call the none winter version where you can do that "baggy", They great boots.
I am looking at the Pampa sport cuff wps rn. They look super warm and nice for like shoveling snow in a Chicago winter. I'm also looking at the legions in here and the Pampa hi wax they're all already on sale with another 30% off so the sport cuff wps are $80 and Pampa hi wax are $45.. legions are like $51. Not sure of the last two I want as an alternative to the Pampa sport cuff wps...
@@jorgelinares9686 baggy version you'll see with the top folded down but when folded up are like an 8" shaft. I think they're kinda neat. Plenty of those are on sale with an extra 30% off too. But you don't see the extra 30% till they're in the cart.
I know you mentioned that one of the shoes had more of a round toe than square: which sole do you think has greater space for toes (wider toe box), as i do not want to get bunions when i'm older.
Cool showcase of AI audio filtering, but tbh video would have been much better with just the static in the background. I could not watch the whole thing, gave up a few minutes in and looked at the comments to see what the deal was. Sounds like an entirely different person speaking with your cadence, very trippy and uncanny valley. Cannot adjust to it at all - whereas static just blends into the background after a little while. Glad to hear it was a one off thing hahaha
Oh I for real thought he was badly sick or something hahaha
Agreed I'd rather hear static. It reminds me of the thousands of hours of time across TH-cam people have taken up by stopping their video to comment about a plane flying overhead that their mic doesn't even pick up anyway. Corrections to very minor imperfections almost always take more away from a video than they improve.
Wait, what? I was looking at new Palladium's boots - since I wear my old pairs today - a couple of hours ago to check if you cut some in half and even watched the video on the other channel and suddenly this video? What's your power?
What kind of pants are you wearing at 6:06?? Are they called Kiko denim? Thanks
How do these 3 compare to the Palladium Pampa Travel Lite that you wear often? thanks in advance.
If you choose the cheapest ones, that's what you have. I've had mine (leather and gore tex) since 2015 and they are one of the best shoes I've ever owned.
I'm looking at a shearling lined leather waterproof one now going for more than 50% off on their site. Originally 170, marked down to 115 plus another 30% off. Only $80. All their sale items are 30% off right now. I kinda want to get 3 pairs. Too bad he didn't link the palladium website ones for affiliate links, but I don't know how that works. The legiones are only $55 with tax and free shipping
I thought all their boots were made in Asia. The last pair I had were (Pampa Tactical)
Did sound like there was a voice over or something going on.
It’s wack right? It freaks me out listening to it. I explain what happened at the end
@RoseAnvil yeah I saw the explanation, which led me to comment. I honestly would have likely just shrugged it off as a cold or sore throat before you said something. There are some really weird moments where your voice just isn't the same
you should have looked at the leather ones too!
what is the sizing like compare to nike sneakers ?
Can we check on how the boots walk and grip on wet surfaces especially these one.
These were not comfortable for an 8 hour work day. My feet were screaming! Felt like I they had no support. Got them because they reminded me of the Guess Canvas Desert Boots they put out in the 90's.
I have my waterproof pair for 2 years now. I wear them 4 to 5 months a year during winter, every day for 8 hours at work.
First of all they are waterproof but also your feet does not breathe so socks are sweaty all the time. Also they are thin so not too warm so I dont recomend for realy low temp. Only other isue I have is that lacess are untiyng them selves often. Maybe that matrial is too slippery, i dont know.
Overall not too bad for 100€ (bougth them for 60€ on sale), light and comfy for long distances and durable. But not worm for winter. 7/10.
Will by their lether shoes next season to see the diference.
I like the format so much that I didn't even notice the audio quality.
In fact, I just had a thought. Let get my "Mister Beast" voice ready: "I have a challenge for you!" I would love to see you take three of the same disappointing boots (Carhartt, Harley Davidson, and another) and find out what is the difference between them besides colors and labels.
Birkenstock Birmingham Slip On (chelsea) next?
The more expensive pair is only $95?
Hell, I'll get them in every color at that price.
I like the new audio setup tryout.
Suggested next 'WTD' (What The Dif?) - Corocoran black cap-toe combat/jump boots.
Have you cut apart On Cloud shoes? I would like to see that.
Shoes with holes in them to collect water and mud ect tards buy them lol
@okthen22ok personally, I don't know tards. Are you a representative of one?
Give us more info on Travel Lite
❤❤❤❤❤
They make a waxed waterproof version.
ok im wrong, weston goes back to his human voice at 10:55
Its gonna take a while to get used to the new microphone set up. You don't sound the same. I honestly thought someone was voicing over you at first lol. Kinda sound like a radio host on NPR. Little more low-end than normal. But then gets a little weird at points. Then its back to normal?
Oh you explained it... cool
Are your palladium’s slippery on wet floors?
More rugged converses??
Whys the audio weird?
Whys your audio weird
Because it’s recorded through a spy shoe mic
I thought it was just me. My first thought was AI.
It’s explained at the end of the video
That’s my new employee Ai-ston
Pretty sure those are made somewhere in Asia (Vietnam?), they only design it in Lyon, France
14:00 Please do a series on English, Italian and other European makers. These go unnoticed in America.. Heck even Dayton in Canada technically is closer to me across the Erie and yet they are no where to be found... I can get Rockroosters easier than Daytons...
As a Canadian, I would actually love to see him cut apart a pair of Dayton Drivers or anything from their lineup really. My brother has two pairs and they're such stout, good looking boots! Although Dayton technically doesn't exist anymore sadly, they've seen new life as "Wohlford & Co" to prevent them from going completely belly up earlier this year but they still have the Dayton DNA and everything.
Where did you get those pair of jeans!!
Ai voice?????
I doubt they will sponsor the comparison, I’d almost bet money that the quality has suffered severely in service to profit maximisation…
Do they make a leather option ?
AI WESTON TROLLED ME!!!
How much for the boots ,size 45/46
Look like a French version of Chuck Taylor high tops...yeah, the audio was weird
Biggest difference I have seen in many pairs of palladiums is the quality of adhesion on the outsole to the rest of the boot.
The made in China ones delaminate after a year or two, the made in Vietnam lines last years until the canvas wears through
This brand glued side was very split easily.
