I can't believe it. I made this request shortly before going to bed, not even expecting a reply. When I woke up this morning, a full video had been made in response! Amazing! Thanks, UcGCanathos21 - if that's your REAL name! This is very helpful indeed.
Quick tip to avoid moving something without intention, you can press "L" to lock it (or right click - lock) for example the character mats. Also if you go into Options-Game Keys you will find a bunch of shortcuts like playing first and second card by pressing a key instead of dragging it (this is nice), loot, change seat and some more. finaly i also like using Picture in picture to always have the board or character mats in sight you can display those by right clicking anywhere on the table and picture and picture, once you create the window you press the lock to keep it steady wherever you want it to be. I am sure you already knew some of those things, i hope others can be of help.
Ahh now see I knew about locking things because frequently I have to UNLOCK things to move them around on the mat, but had just never considered locking the character board
Sorry, got lost at @3:46. My settings (after pressing Esc and selecting the Gear) look nothing like that. What did you do to access those settings on the side like that? I have nothing like that on my screen. Which app settings are you referring to? I can't find the Web Server on option.
Those settings aren’t in an escape window they’re just in the top right corner above the play mat. If when you ask about the setting on the side that’s just x haven open on my second monitor
Wait, is it referring to settings on a different app? I must have missed the step where you said to do download and use a different app (I got the hand keys add on though)
I'm sorry to keep bothering you, but I downloaded x-haven, and ...well, the settings menu is different than yours -I can't quite tell what you're clicking on because it's blurry on the vid and in the settings window, it's a shit font that's so hard to read. I tried guestimating which thing to click on (there's not activate server button/checkbox) -and one of the ip fields is greyed out, the other I matched to the Tabletop simulator and still getting an error. This is kinda frustrating.
Thanks so much for these videos. The interface is, um, something to get used to. You think you're dragging a character box, but it drags one piece out of the box at a time?! weird haha.
Ever had a problem where a campaign sticker on the main map is the wrong sticker? I had the sticker for 127 in the right place, played it, but now the sticker for 118 is there instead.
@@ucgxanathos2171 Understandable. I kind of like to know where the quests are, geographically because my memory works better that way. No idea why the sticker changed and there doesn’t appear to be any way to alter it. Fortunately, it still shows the right scenario as done and the wrong scenario remains closed.
Hey, I'm curious what version of X-haven assistant you are using, as when I use the feature to sync X-haven with my game it's not connecting, and I think it may be the version that I'm using.
Amazing video. Thank you! We are having trouble getting a Mac and a PC to sync to the same server through the app. Do you if it's compatible across different OS'S?
Been a while since I had a question! Just started running Trap. How do I indicate what the individual traps do, please? (Condition tokens slip right through the trap tile and disappear!)
Got the thing up and running and played through Scenario 0 with 3 characters. Took a while! One thing that confused me is end of turn looting is automated, but loot actions are not. I got mixed up and ended up with some loot cards pulled in X-haven Asst and some in TTS. I didn’t expect the game to auto-calculate XP and loot when I clicked End Scenario, but I know that the loot was miscounted because of my errors. So where do end of turn loot cards get drawn from? Just so next time I can make sure loot is managed from the same deck of cards!
Ahh yes I should have covered loot it’s weird. In X-haven you can make it anyone’s turn in the round by clicking on their character symbol or monster icon just left of where the initiative is listed. This is important both for looting and applying conditions. When it’s a characters turn and you draw a loot token it will be marked with their class symbol and added to their tally. If they’re standing on a loot token then just selecting whoever is next in initiative order will auto loot it for you. If you ever see that a loot token doesn’t have a class symbol or has the wrong one you can just undo in x haven to reselect the right character and redraw
@@ucgxanathos2171 So don’t loot within TTS itself (using the deck to the bottom right of the board)? Wonder why they put it there? Also, what exactly gets reset when you press end scenario? I’m worried I may have missed something. Do I need to shuffle my attack decks, for example? (And when I remove cards from my deck from levelling up… where do I put them?)
@@gideonpepys the loot functionality is built into TTS for people who don’t wanna use the X-haven integration. It will auto shuffle your AMD and remove curses and blesses when you end scenario. Most of the time it removes extra -1s you add as negative conditions but sometimes it fails that for some reason. You can put your removed AMD cards anywhere else on the character mat. I just place them next to the class specific ones. It wont add them back into your deck when it autoshuffles
@@gideonpepysI just always draw the monster ability cards by hitting start round and I draw their attacks in X-haven to keep track of things like curses
