I actually am currently living in Carthage (pronounced "Kar-taj" because of Arabic and French influence). I am two blocks from the Punic Ports, and am literally at the base of Byrsa. Seems like the right video to listen to tonight.
@@ASMR_Historian Not as much as you might think.... It certainly piqued my interest when the idea was first floated, but unfortunately, Tunisia is experiencing a bit of a decline, and the preservation of the area's history is fairly low on the list of priorities. I will say though, it is something else to be walking to the store, turn your head, and realize that you're looking at the Temple of Eshmun. A few blocks beyond that, you encounter an odd row of arches surrounded by wheat fields... the old Roman Aqueduct. Still haven't visited the Baths of Antoninus, but I'll get there.
If i recall correctly, Rome even helped Carthage during the mercenary war by opening supply lines with their fleet, sending supplies and returning prisoners of war. Mostly as they were nearly bankrupt and didn’t trust the mercenaries to continue paying the war indemnity if they were to prevail.

I could listen to Carthage vs Rome stories all day every day.

Wow that does invoke some envy from me for sure! Plenty to see I bet.

Even this could not last forever
Nothing does.
Thanks
Getting sleepy😴
Goodnight
Hey man don’t know if you have done this but would love a video on the reconquista of the Iberian peninsula
Not yet! It is definitely on the list, want to cover the crusades in detail before I get to that one.
