Loved this video. That confetti brought back memories of weddings I attended when I was a kid in the 80's and 90's. I'd probably use the confetti for a shaker card! Beautiful journals.

Thankyou Johanna, I absolutely love your studio vlogs. Mesmerising and inspiring from beginning to end. How blessed we all are to be able to see and listen to you create. Excellent thrift shop hauls too. The special cross-stitch replacement was a great find. I’ve added confetti pieces in clear cello bags to two of my scrapbooks. The confetti boxes are gorgeous and definitely worth keeping/scanning. Rue’s dress and hat are so pretty. The custom journals are exquisite. Beyond beautiful work in progress journal trio. Oh my goodness the gold embossed one with Baby Dear image cover is amazing. Such a clever idea to use an egg plate to hold the beads. As always perfect background music. Can’t wait to re-watch this video. So therapeutic ❤

I'd personally make birthday themed shaker tags with the confetti and keep the boxes for storing small knick knacks afterwards. Also, I enjoy your vlogs! They are very inspiring and have me wanting to go and create something.

oh my gosh i flinched when you spilled the beads that i actually reached out to catch them from falling, i do that all the time when someone drops things on film, i gasp and reached out my hubby thinks im off my rocker when i do that, i think its a natural reaction
Love the journals. And so glad you shared your op shop clothes - when you said “you probably won’t be interested” I yelled at the screen, “yes, I’m interested”. Love that coat - I’m in tassie and the temps have really dropped the last week or two and I’ve got a few gorgeous big fluffy cardigan jackets from op shops in the past two weeks. And yes, more vlogs!

I don't usually sit through longer ones like this but it was so relaxing and I enjoyed it so much. Your books are so quaint and beautiful and for those of us who make journals I think it did justice to show the time and effort that goes into them. I would love to see how you template and sew in your signatures. I have only learned to sew in with crocodile and eyelets. I would love to learn how to sew in without them. Those confetti boxes, use the inside confetti to make little shakers (as an idea) or fill balloons with them at a child's birthday party. I would have loved to request a journal but missed the chance. Love your process.

Ps: totally relate to buying something just for the vintage packaging! This is how I have accumulated stale incense, clock parts, and a massive pile of tan stocking darning thread 😅 the confetti can be put to good use though, maybe with a shaker card type of thing for a journal cover, or patiently glued one by one to create a beautiful pointillist background paper?

I love seeing your process. They are beautiful. How on earth do you find so many colorful children’s books. I check my local thrift shops at least once a month and very rarely do I see any good children’s books. I do find lots of fabrics and crafting items though. Thanks for sharing your amazing talent.
I'm not sure about the boxes but the confetti in the boxes would create a wonderful effect on paper if it's the same confetti that stained our clothes. You know, sprinkle the confetti on paper, then spritz the paper and dust off the confetti pieces when dry. Even sprinkle the confetti into handmade paper, that would look lovely!
This video was somehow very asmr. It had a documentary feel to it. So very well done. And the journals are some of the best you've ever done. Gorgeous. I loved seeing the effort and care you take into making the journals. Thank you for sharing and I hope you do more of these.
