I found my factory alarm box in the same location. If you look down the rectangular hole where the seat clip goes you will see a fuse on the right top of the factory alarm module and if you pull that fuse the alarm will not go off and you will be able to start the car. The on board computer will not work but that is all I have noticed.
Thanks. Little while ago now. But don’t think there was a particular reason is the short answer. Along with the literature I skimmed through (in description) there was some trial and error. In my mind I think I wanted to tamper with minimal circuits. Once this worked and it wasn’t draining the battery I guess that was good enough for me. If I had more time I’d strip the whole system out the car.
Do you have any experience of removing or counteracting the deadlock problem with the 3T alarm? I have an E 36 with exactly the same system and the alarm went off in the day and the car would not start so there’s been some re-wiring but the deadlock is still there any ideas on how I can Undead lock it Thanks
Thanks for the video! I've got a question, my alarm goes of from time to time but very soft, also some interior lights keep burning very week after the key is out, so I disconnect the battery when not in use. Can this be related to the same box? Also I heard you saying something about problems the turn lights? this also happend once. I've got an older pre facelift 34 with the M30 engine.
I think the E34s before 93 had different systems in them so not sure. By all means read through the literature in the video description this might help.
I have an e34 530i V8. I converted the car into manual. It works, it does start and runs, however the windows wont come down. I guess the antitheft systme is locking them. Also, the OBC is not working. I checked EVERYTHING and I dont know what else to do. I will do what you did, however, my car is different. It has no siren and it has a black box module under the back seats in the same location you have yours. It has no metallic cover in it... I am about to replace the whole wiring with one that has no antitheft system but has all the same extras, and see if I can make it work this way, but it is so much work I would rather try to fix it somehow... I will try what you did and see what happens.... Help please!
Thanks for taking time to comment! Ah man been a while since I’ve read about the alarms in these. I’ve heard of people deleting the system all together. I’d probably start by reading the alarm page on bimmerforums I left in the video description. Presuming as your BMW is a V8 and 530i it was made from 93 which means it will have a factory immobiliser (I think) There were a few versions of these systems thereafter. If you find which ones yours has and the alarm system, there should be some information on the schematics for your cars system or at least a procedure you can try if you wanted to try and fix your current system. By all means check the fuses and the rest before going nuts with it but I’m not as clued up in this as the guys in the forum so by all means hit them up if you get stuck after reading. Wish I could be more help and good luck!
Really helpful be struggling with this for a while now
