Getting a LOT of people asking about the shop in PA. I am leaving for vacation, but when I get back I will call the shop and ask if he'd be okay with me sharing who he was.
I do not share coin shops that I call name and location, good or bad, without their permission. This is for multiple reasons.
I understand why you have to have this policy. Hope the owner gives permission -- it would mean more business for him -- good for him and good for the customers!
"since you have so much 90% do you mind if I share your shop info online? You will be sold out in two days"
Gold and Silver are "outside the system" savings accounts for me and only buy on huge dips like we have seen recently. Buying Gold and Silver keeps me from spending money on silly and unnecessary purchases. Holding physical Gold and Silver allows me to quickly pull in emergency needs and sell at my LCS and walk away with cash when needed. Not looking for it to moon and get rich off the purchases
I 100% agree, it is basically an inflation hedge, or insurance. Not dumb to own, but if you are looking for returns and compounding growth, look elsewhere.if you don’t have the discipline to avoid silly purchases, buying gold wont help you. learn self control.
In the current circumstances, it's wise to diversify by moving investments from real estate to financial markets or gold, despite potential future drops in home prices. Considering prevailing mortgage rates and economic uncertainty, seeking advice from a knowledgeable independent financial advisor is advisable for guidance.
That's really great. I've tried doing some research myself to hire a financial advisor, but it's really overwhelming. Could you recommend who you work with please?
Sharon Marissa Wolfe is the licensed advisor I use. Just search the name. You’d find necessary details to work with to set up an appointment.
I just looked her up on the web and I would say she really has an impressive background in investing. I will write her an email shortly.
Always appreciate these videos. Certainly glad I picked up $20 face last Wednesday when spot came down to $28.70-80. LCS was at 21x face. I drove straight there after work. Can’t complain too much with spot plus $.60-70. Definitely consider myself lucky with the LCS here. Prices are always equal or less to any online sites I can search through. So it always pays to shop around. Simply amazes me with the ranges you find while doing your videos. Thanks again.
Thanks for the reminder that you always have to shop around! God Bless!
Wow. That shop in Montana was something else. You really need to shop around before you buy. Thanks, Seeker!
I'd be really curious to know if it was Ardie's or Grizzly in Montana.
I know it wasn’t Williams in Bozeman. Might have been Penny Ranch. Would of been cool to recognize voices.
@@cozmicchaos6400 me too, I prefer Grizzly, they seem to have better prices
Love Mercury Dimes ....
🎶 They call me the Seeker 🎶
@@philliplawson7840 I've been searching low and high
Guys at coin show in Florida were really frustrated and offering hundred ounce bars below spot.
a few months ago jm was paying $3 under for 100 oz .
Bullion Express was selling junk at melt for almost all of June. Only had to spend $150 for free shipping including halves.
No such thing as junk. Gotta stop calling it that. Call it what it is.
Junk because they have no collector value. Also, you can't melt them @@dronetestdaegan
Been on a 90% buying streak here lately due to very low premiums. Not stopping anytime soon, that is until premiums go back up.
AND THEY WILL. All things are cyclical.
Premiums went down but spot price went up. They just want to sustain the demand.
I bought it yesterday for $22.00 per $1.00 face here in Durango, Colorado.
I live in WA and I have a local pawn shop that sells theirs for 21 times face. Not sure why but they never seem to change the price on it.
Thank you for this Video! My eyes are now Really OPEN TODAY!!! Again Thank You!!! FreddieB (MA)
My LCS in Socal also has a ton of 90% that hes been buying for cheap. Hes selling it all at melt including Morgans and Peace dollars. He set up at a local coin show a week ago and dealers bought everything he had with him before the show even opened lol
what is the business name?
There was so much hype during the pandemic about the “rarity” of 90%. I just rolled my eyes and said this will not end well.
Shops near me in IndIana were at $24 x face, $19 to buy it from you, $14 to buy back your slicks
I did just pick up some 90% from SD Bullion on their $0.76 over spot sale. I think it runs through the end of the week.
Hopefully no one needs to sell their silver back in this environment. This just tells me you are going to get jack back on a trade in
Yep, that's why I advocate to my friends not to sell in the short term. If you can afford to hold your silver, sell something else to cover bills or emergency expenses. The real reward is for long-term holding.
No lie….Ive been selling 90% at melt(some days a little under), including halves, at the shop for over 2 weeks now.
where?
@@sdfv4zx At my shop in the state of SC
@@sdfv4zx At my shop in the state of SC.
I always ask the bid/ask when i call a shop. Most dont care.
These stories are crazy. Just insane.
Hold these shops transparent, and keep them on their toes. I got a LCS charging 24x face for half dollars and 23x for quarters and dimes. That’s a bit rough.
Been buying at Melt for about 3 weeks now.
My LCS in Iowa has a ton of quarters and is 20x face.
Was in meridian id and the shop couldn’t keep it in stock. High premium and he said no one is selling. He barely had anything in stock
Thanks for always keeping it real, Seeker!
Thanks for the information!
Great vid. Thank you!
I went to a pawn shop today (Minnesota) and they wanted 36X face. I laughed as I walked out empty handed.
At my LCS in Portland, I bought a tube of 25 Morgan & Peace dollars for $23 each!
WOW!!!
unreal!
Smoking deal!
Not bad at all.
That’s what I’m talking about. I have a relationship like that with my LCS.
I love unsearched constitutional silver. You never know what you'll find
Just bought 8 dollars face for 22 dollars per. Including halves which i grabbed all his halves. Local shop central Connecticut. Guess I faired pretty well. I went in looking for a few eagles but left with 90% and an empty wallet. Wish I had brought more cash with me. Great video
I bought junk silver at spot, two days ago. It was at 29.12 in his shop. Also bought 4 gold eagles (3% premium). Junk is cheap but didn't didn't want to get over 10K to buy more. Got a proof coin in the dimes.
no such thing as junk. Gotta stop calling it that.
Coin shop near me silver eagles 7 above spot to buy and to sell they will give u 2 dollars over spot
Good shop
How do you account for taxes and shipping when buying online? Do you see it as an additional premium, or just ignore it as a cost of doing business??
Thank you!
The problem is if you try to sell it back you will only get 86% of spot!
Obviously depends on the shop. A pawn shop near me said they'd give me spot for my silver eagles and 2% over on 1/2 gold eagle.
Why sell? 90% is for shtf scenario. Barter and such. For me it's the long game anyway. If I die before then it goes to my children. JS
Really do your research, I sold yesterday at full spot.
And that's the problem with buying silver. The shops charge over spot but when you sell back you're only offer around 80% - 90% on junk silver.
Why are you selling back to the LCS? Junk silver is meant for SHTF selling, making small purchases with your country contacts, etc. Realize the value by trading for food, not by converting back to fiat.
If you invest time on scanning through eBay auctions you can find 90 % silver auctions at and some cases below spot
This means they are turning at least some extra 90% in to be melted.
Will this amount to be another "Great Silver Melt" i personally think thats what is probably happening now.
That means 90% is getting more rare as we speak.
90 percent is wonderful, cool and awesome.
Saturday I bought 10 oz bar for $1 over spot.($30.18 total). They wanted 23 x face for junk this was in Mesa Arizona
wrong. $ 301?
I went to a coin and jewelry store in my area and they were selling 90% for 40x face!!! I said heccccccckkkkk no and left
Sure premiums are way down, but spot is way up. I bought my last kilo for just over melt back in March when spot was $22.50… I think I’ll wait.
Yo Bro I just thought I'd share the good word with you I guess SB 735 passed in Missouri and so if you Google "can you pay your taxes in Missouri with gold"? it will bring up a blog post in the first answer. As of August of this year we will be able to pay taxes and stuff with both silver and gold. I can imagine it won't be long until we get a Gold Bank in Missouri like Utah.
Where in PA?!?!? I'm in PA!
I went to a coin show on Sunday, there was no 90% to speak of.
My LCS on Tuesday said he would pay 17 face when silver was at 29oz not to bad
So do most shops buy it at 12 r so on the dollar ? That’s not good if buying at 22. I have a lot of rolls Franklins and bags of dimes I head buy as much junk silver but in the better looking ones now I’m confused so is it a good thing t buy them then? I’m confused
I don't care for 90% at all but like a week ago my LCS had a super duper sale selling at 50 cents back of spot (!)
Wowzers that awesome!
The spot price has gone up so much, that I cant see paying these prices. They may only be at 22X face, but you're still paying the most recent spot price. I'll wait until spot drops a little. Hopefully it will!!
Currently I am pickung up junk silver at 10x face! Nice times to be alive
in 2009 I bought $600 face at 10x I stopped buying for years. Currently started to stack again, people do not want to sell at 10x in my area, any tips where to post my ads? I tried facebook and they flagged me for trying to buy Coins
great info
My LCS buys constitutional behind spot, and he makes no bones about making it clear he doesn't want it. The bulk of my silver is constitutional and his attitude caught my attention last year when I thought I might need to sell some for quick cash.
Wish you could identify the vendors -- for that Pennsylvania shop's price, I'd be glad to drive over the river from NJ and make a nice purchase!
Pa should still charge you 8% make you feel at home but not welcome.
Ive been buying at $30-30.50 an oz for 90% lately... Picked up $30 worth the last month
i usually buy on eBay, when i can find a deal like 10 dimes for 20$ or 50c for 12.75 $ and $6.50 a quarter, that's most of the best deals ive found with free shipping
ive heard nothing but bad things about coin shops in Beaumont Texas,
Other than the 10 dimes for $20 buying 50 cent pieces for $12.75 and quarters for $6.50 is a rip off. That's 25.5x face for 50 cent pieces and 26x face for quarters 😮. I have some I'd sell you at those prices 😂
It’s scary to me that so many in this community don’t understand face to melt conversions.
Ive been buying for 20x face for about a year from my guy, think i'll keep doing that lol
Where is this guy? I’m interested.
Just bought some today locally for 21.6x so I was happy about that
Take the weight of the coin and divide it by 100 and then multiply it by 90 and that will give you the weight of silver for that coin.
Wow I need to win the lottery!!!! Lol Our LCS yesterday was $22xface for any 90%❤
What city did you call in WA? I support 3 of them
I’ve been buying maples and philharmonics for $1 over spot from my LCS. The dealer is liquidating his silver to all his repeat customers I have the bill of sales to prove it.
US coin gallery in Michigan is the best coin shop.
I bought $770 in junk silver over the last month dimes for $2.00 each quarter's for $5.00 each and halves for $10 each under spot for each. Someone told me I was getting ripped off but I looked it up and it was under spot. It Is also under melt too.
I’m in Pennsylvania and would love to know who shop #4 is…
Looks like the chart shows silver about to go much higher, this is weird.
place i get iit from is 25.00 per1.00 face random pick each time but a 1.00 worth they try tomix it up
These are good videos
You need to do more videos on how much they buy for.
I do a LOT of them already
Might be that they dont come up in my notifications. How about one on how to get the best price for your silver. Ebay vs marketplace vs coin shops@@SilverSeeker
The one coin shop having so much 90% silver, they selling it at spot to get rid of it. And, he don't care. I wish I had that much 90% 🤷♂
So I live in PA, can you please direct me to shop 4??
I doubt there are that many shops in Pennsylvania, so I'd just call until you find it. Be worth the time.
#4 needed some crack funds😂😂
Simple math - same calculation one would make if buying any fractional silver
My prices are always just times face so like 22x face much easier
❄️ Silver is good+USA ONLY ❄️
I love mercury dimes!
And they love you too!
But that is JUNK. U won't find dated standing liberties, barbars, Mercurys from 20s, etc for those prices
No, but that's not what we're buying it for.
My local coin shop is maybe $2 over spot but they let me cherry pick
I dont understand. 90% there is only so much of it and there is less each year. How can it be going for spot or a little above?
The non stackers are selling when they found out the high spot price of silver. Most of those seller likely sold inherited 90% from grandpa.
I think more people are hurting for cash right now and they aren't convinced of silver's potential.
I’d be asking for the price of 90% silver by weight, not face value. Older coins lose a lot of silver over time. Then you can compare it to ounces properly. (Weight:Weight)
A bag of average circulation is calculated at .715 to adjust for wear already, but I remove the super slicks anyway.
@@SilverSeeker good to know!! 👍👍👍
I have people in Pennsylvania so if he gives his consent i would like to know where he is
I’m from Pennsylvania where was this
I look at what the bullion dealers are selling and buying it for and sell mine in the middle and try to buy at what they buy for
What was the shop for spot.
Beware the scheisters 😂
Is 'spot' and 'melt' the same thing? Or are those two different terms? TIA from this noob
Different. You can find current melt prices online.
Spot price is what 1 ounce of pure silver trades for.
Melt is the value of the Silver in $1 FV of 90%.
I’m in Montana and I have a few thoughts on who you might have been talking to..
Me too, LOL
🇺🇸 17.76 per dollar would be nice for 4th July -- Buying Price 🇺🇸
I'm in PA, I want that shop name. Lol
I bought way too much for $19 max down to $16. Sure did well. $22 is way too high. My box weighs over 45 pounds on my bathroom sca😢
I think you're gonna need a bigger box. lol Stacking has that effect on most people who start stacking.
My LCS sells Washies and Rosies at melt, slight premium for halves (all halves are the same $) with Mercs having the highest premium (2.7%).
Don't assume that when someone quotes selling you at spot that they are using the Kitco spot price. There is a good chance they will use the futures spot price, which today is approximately 0.25 more than the Kitco price. Granted, that is still darn good. Also, don't ignore the quality of the junk you may purchase. If they let you hand pick, then you will be able to grab coins with reasonable wear. If not, you may get some culls/slicks thrown in.
Dang $12 for the buy back!
@@considerthetruth a 50% haircut? Why would anyone buy junk silver.
@@davidfairchild1640 at my lcs I can buy and sell junk better than eagles
Majors are paying $1 less than melt.
Why is anyone surprised that a coin shop isn't taking advantage of the current situation where many who have been holding silver need the money to live on and many who have not been holding silver are looking to buy. The little guy always gets screwed. Its literally his lot in life.
In Washington and last week my shop well selling 90% to me below spot.
I should have called your shop lol
My shop in Washington is pretty agreeable(Coin cradle). Not overly outlandish most the time. I got a quarter ounce eagle nearly better than everyone else I checked.
Haven't bought much 90% from them, but when I did it was quite fair.
What is the price for the melt price
$3O.47 an ounce as of 8:15 PM
im very leary buying 90%. seems like most dealers will only buy for well under spot. even if you can get it for melt, whats the point when you can only sell it for a fraction of that.
You don't have to sell back to a dealer... but last year they were paying WAY over melt for 90%, so good timing is key.
@@SilverSeeker I agree in 2022 I sold a bunch of stuff way over spot and bought a house. My BU prospectors did the best considering when I bought them they were selling at generic round price.
So many different equations for 90%. So confusing.
There aren't really.. there are only 2 things you need to know.
There is .715 ounce in $1, and it takes $1.40 to make 1 oz. That's it... remember that and it's cake.
@@SilverSeekerExactly. Not hard to understand.
If Fed Dollar goes to zero then junk silver will only trade at 1x face. 😁
I think I know what shop in Washington you called. (Olympia-Lacey?) He's always ridicules. There is a shop across town that is more reasonable.
Would you share the store contact in Pennsylvania
