Egg bites are really simple to make. There is No need for any gadgets = A bowl & knife & fork is everything you need.
This can be made as individual muffin or as a larger pie size dish ( baked with other items) if you’re saving on energy.
Base ingredients are eggs & cottage cheese
You can add anything you like be that leftovers, Meat ,Vegetables, vegan,
Personally I make a 1 large version when I’m cooking something else to save on energy.
Im over 60 & was taught to make maximum use of my oven when cooking = Every part had to be used. Top, middle, bottom.
👍
❤
I know you said your cooking videos don’t do as well for views on YT, but I sure enjoy them. So thank you.
Glad you like them!
not this one:) this is a hit!
you never know...but I like them...
65 years old and I had to google "Sous Vide" - never too old to learn, right?!! Personally I would call Sous Vide a water bath, which is exactly what I did after watching your video. You inspired me to experiment by placing the filled muffin tins into a larger cookie sheet and fill it with hot water before baking in the oven. 20 minutes at 300 degrees was a little short in my particular oven, so I added five minutes and pulled them out at three minutes. Waited 20 minutes before removing from the pan and - WOW - perfection!! The only thing I added to your recipe is a couple of chopped scallions along with the bacon and chopped pimentos - YUM!! And I used butter instead of a cooking spray to "grease" the muffin tins. They are absolutely delicious - better than Starbuck's and Trader Joe's - LOL!! Saving two out for the weekend and will freeze the rest. These will make a quick breakfast for those busy days ahead!! Thank You and GREAT job Tim!!
I purchased a small appliance on Amazon to make the same recipe. It's a Dash Deluxe Egg Bite Maker, inexpensive, safer and easier in the kitchen. My grandson who's six aspires to be a chef this year. This purchase has made me the "Best Yaya Ever"!
How cool!!!
I have this one also, but I want to try his also!😊
Your's looks best to me... honest it does 😊
I've been making these at home for a couple of months. The silicone muffin pan is much easier to remove bites and you don't need to oil it. You should either put a pan of water in oven as well or fill the empty muffin spots with water. It creates steam and creates moister bites. I bake them at 300 just till a bit brown (160 degrees) I've experimented using Canadian bacon with smoked Gouda.
Nice
Swiss cheese is the poorer man’s replacement for the much more expensive Austrian Gruyere, not cheddar, Monterrey jack or cottage cheese. Also, non-stick cooking sprays are FULL of chemicals that have been shown to contribute significantly to dementia. It only takes a minute to grease muffin pans with softened butter (10 seconds in the microwave if you didn’t plan ahead). I save butter wrappers in the freezer & just pull one or two out when I need to grease a baking/cooking dish.
@@anniehegr4469 100% right. We don't need more chemicals.
Great video Tim. My wife eats Starbucks egg bites she buys from the store every morning. I am going to make these for her this weekend. Thanks again !
Hope you enjoy!
@@TheNewRetiredMewhat’s that red sauce you put in? You didn’t mentioned it.
@@Berrypancakes229 The only thing red I remember adding were the pimentos. But sometimes I do add hot sauce to my eggs.
👍
Check out the Starbucks egg bites ingredients . They are not good
I saw this recipe once with a biscuit slice on the bottom which is not keto or carnivore. I modified it as you did, but came up with a totally different combo! I use 6 egg yolks only, discarding the whites to another job. Add whipping cream and various meats...I've tried sausage bites, bacon, leftover turkey sausage slices quartered and my favorite cheese is cream cheese which has to be room temperature. I pour everything together whip with a fork and then after the egg in is the muffin tin, I add a chunk of the cream cheese in the center of the mix. That's the creamiest. I did try with artichokes; don't recommend that....way too wet! I never considered roasted peppers....I do know that a bit of shallots, lightly browned in butter is delicious as well. Make sure to pour the butter in too! Creativity abounds out of us all in non-stop fashion; it makes life exciting! Keep rockin' that kitchen!
Those combinations all sound amazing!!
👍
My mother had a six egg poacher for the stove top. I thought I had invented the egg bite until Starbucks stole it from me.😂
The poacher is quicker
-Robin
Loved my Mums poached eggs with the rounded bottoms!
Can still get egg poachers in UK 🇬🇧
I will have to try this! Another use for an appliance, I love it!
If you can put a little cheese in the bottom of each, the egg won't stick.
I had that six egg poacher but don’t know what happened to it or if I brought it with me when I moved (a long time ago) 😢😩 had so much stuff to pack in my car……. it was an old one….
This baked egg recipe is great. I use to do that when I was a chef years ago, now retired. Going to start that recipe again and freeze them until I need them. Wonder how I forgot about doing this with eggs. 🤣🤣🤣
😅but you will remember and master it faster than the rest of us....
You got that right 💯👍😁
❤
I love my dash egg maker, and kinda add what I wish. I have made a similar crustless quiche in tin as you did, and love being able to prep ahead…… lol I also love making HB eggs in my Dash, and I peel them right away, and store them in fridge in a mason jar….. the simple HB egg is a great snack, salad topper, or easy for me to make an egg salad….. I and my sister care for our parents, and having these bites, and HB eggs ready asap, is a huge and special treat for them…. Your demo, and video have been wonderful. Thank you!
How many eggs do you mix up to fill the 4 cups on the Dash egg bites maker?
I followed a recipe for these that recommended putting a baking sheet full of water on the bottom rack to help create that steam bath environment in your oven to compensate for not having a sour vide.
I have seen that done as well. For me, it’s just another opportunity to make a mess, so I didn’t use it. 🤣
I made this yesterday and is terrific! My version, used 8 eggs, a cup of finely shredded gruyere cheese, about 6 ounces of ricotta cheese (in place of the cottage), chopped up prosciutto, and a dash of black pepper and cayenne, cooked at 300F for 30 minutes. I then cooled and wrapped, into the fridge. It is delicious cold this morning! Better cold than warmed up. This recipe is a keeper.
Ricotta is wonderful!
I love watching a man in the kitchen! Thank you for the recipe.
Never had Starbucks egg bites but I thought yours looked better. I think I am going to try that recipe right now.
I've watched many carnivore videos. You do better than most. Knowing cameras and having the right equipment must make all the difference. Congratulations
I try. :). Thank you!
💚💛
You could also use cupcake liners
Yep! I just didn’t have any.
Perfect idea for this coming weekend! We’ll have a houseful of guests for our son’s wedding on Sunday.
Glad you made that video, I so often run out of ideas to do breakfast 😅
👍
I've never had egg bites, Panera's coffee is outstanding. Love the idea of making these for breakfast (using your recipe, of course), and if they're a hit, then I shall make plenty and freeze them. Love a man in the kitchen. My husband's job was kitchen duty, breakfast. I always loved seeing him wear my apron. It just warmed my heart seeing you make your version of egg bites. Thanks, and happy retirement.
🤍🤍🤍
Thanks for your directions and ingredients info! We love the SB “Egg Bites” and would pick them up for a quick lunch while traveling. Knowing how to do them at home is super!
😋
👍
“Gree-air” is how you say it. I love Jarlsberg cheese. I like that brand of cottage cheese too when I can find it but my favorite is Daisy, it has no added starch. These look great.
Recipe is straight forward and can be accommodated for personal tastes! Perfect!
Great video! I make something similar from the South Beach Diet cookbook, and they are delicious. I even freeze them. I just checked the cost of Starbucks egg bites and holy cow, I think they are expensive compared to what your recipe would cost to make. Thanks again - onward to a frugal, keto 2024.
Looks yummy....I've never had the Starbucks egg bites, but they look good. I love to experiment, especially with adding colors via peppers or other things. When I'm low carbing, I love to make crustless quiche and cut that into smaller pieces for quick breakfasts (even eating it cold).
Me, too! I process eggs, cheese, leftover veggies, cream, ham, bacon or cooked chorizo and bake in muffin tin.
Hi 👋 Tim…I make something similar to this..I put all kinds of different healthy things in my egg bites..I really love spinach added…also I use a silicone muffin tin the release is easy with no spray….just a fyi..you could have just turned our oven off and left the egg bites in the oven to finish cooking…happy eating!
💚🧡
❤
I've never had these in Starbucks, but these are what I call mini crustless quiches. I also make a big one in a dish and serve portions with a salad. Greetings from the UK.
😋
❤
my spouse loves starbucks egg bites so excited to try these. also appreciate the simplicity and that this is a recipe i can make meat free! thanks.
You’re welcome!
I make these in my Instant Pot. I also put a little shredded spinach in them. Yummy
😋
😊
That was fun! Thanks for the recipe! I love those egg bites!
Good morning, love your videos!
Thank you!
Yours look best! I add a pan of water to my bottom oven rack (or at least fill unused muffin spaces with water) it'll add moisture to the bake giving a little nicer texture. I like instant pot method- also. Great work- friend!!!😘💜
👍
❤
❤
I can see your egg tarts look much more appealing than the others. Nice job .
Looks great. Thanks for sharing.
If you want an easy way to open jars, the food inside is usually hot when packed, so cooling creates a partial vacuum. If you dunk the jar in hot water for a minute or two, the air space at the top will expand again, and the jar gets easier to open. Works great for pickles. You could just run hot water over the top, but you risk scalding your fingers.
Okay, think Im going to try this. I hadtried something like this a decade ago, but that recipe used raw bacon. That was not a great option. But I can handle making some breakfast sausage on the stove or something.
Nice video! I never would have thought to put pimentos in my egg bites. I will definitely be trying that. I love pimento cheese so it makes so much sense.
Hi, Tim! That looks super delicious! And easy!! I will certainly give it a try…thank you for sharing! 🥚☕️ Have a lovely day.
Meline
Very nicely done!
indeed
Thanks for the recipe! Love the trick to loosen the jar. My mom taught me that along time ago. Thanks for sharing!
Honestly yours looks much more appetizing than the other two. Thanks for sharing.
😊
I really liked this video! I'm going to make some of these today! Thanks, Tim
❤
Great idea. Will try this for sure, thank you!
You are so welcome!
I love the egg bites at Starbucks too! Been wondering if there’s a ketoized recipe for them. Thank you so much!
Great video!
I’m gonna try this recipe! Can’t eat too many eggs - God’s perfect food 🎉
😋
Try using the air fryer to reheat , doesn’t destroy the nutrients like a microwave
I think they might be quite nice with other ingredients too like eg: courgettes/ shallots/ olives/ black pepper/ nutmeg/ sweetcorn/ oregano.
❤
"anything goes" 🎶
I made these in an silicone egg bite maker made for my insta pot and froze them for a trip. They freeze really well. Microwave very gently and they were a hit. 😊cheaper and better than commercial! 👍
👍
healthier!
Just when was fretting about finding a new keto breakfast alternative, you solved my problems. Great recipe. I will use silicon egg poacher cups in my old muffi tin so I can bake 'em in a touch of olive oil. Many thanks and good luck with your carnivore month!
Looked great. I’ve never had the Starbucks egg cups. I really liked the Panera spinach and bacon soufflé but the carbs are too much.
Made them this morning for my church Bible study group, improvised a tad and they were a hit! I even used the paper cups like Starbucks does but I actually sprayed them with canola spray and that definitely kept them from being so sticky. Thanks again 👍
Glad it went well!!
🤍
☺☺
Thank you for this recipe
Thanks for sharing the recipe and method it worked great 👍
Glad to hear it!
😋
😊
Those look really good. On my list of new things to try in ‘24.
I like the idea of using the blender to mix everything!
Thank you for this video!
You are so welcome!
☺🙂
Great idea! And you have used whole food ingredients too! We used to go to Starbucks occasionally for breakfast until we read the ingredient list.
Yay! Thanks for the recipe….been buying at Costco….expensive!😊🎉❤
Caught this during this weekend’s epic blizzard. Must try this ASAP. So easy and one can add whatever ingredients you prefer.
❤ Thank You.
😊
❤
Starbucks Eggbites are sold frozen at Costco now- delicious!!
🥰😋
Thank you! Great cooking show! I love the Starbucks egg bites too. I’ll try your recipe! 😋
Well, bless your heart! I love and I mean I love Starbucks egg bites. In order to avoid trips to my closest Starbucks I’ve tried two different brands (Costco and Albertsons) and they don’t work for me. I am excited to try your recipe!
Good morning Tim, Loved this kitchen breakfast hack. 😋 Not too labor intensive and good to have in the fridge for 2 or 3 breakfasts. Will need willpower to stave off snacking on those I'm sure. So nice to jave for guests too. Thank you!
Enjoy!
Looks delicious. I absolutely enjoy those egg bites from Starbucks as well. I don't get them regularly but I do treat myself once in awhile. While on vacation it's a special treat and that way we can drive up and grab some and get on the road faster to our destination. (That's my good excuse anyway!) 🙂I am going to try them and I do have the microwavable silicone muffin pan so I will test that out as well. Thank you for sharing this. These are also good for a quick snack!
and make them ahead....really cool idea!
❤
What a lovely video. Looks delicious! ❤
😋
That Good Culture is the best! Hard to find sometimes.
Thx for sharing 😊
👍🏻
I made quiche once and I had some leftover over filling so I used a muffin tin and did the same thing, came out great!
Looks good and quick; please include your camera gear, It seems like you use 3 different cameras. Love your videos 🥰
I film the main screen with a Canon EOS R and the RF 15-35 f2.8. The overhead shot is my new DJI Pocket 3. And you saw my iPhone on a small stand in the sink. I wound up not using that video. Gonna try it again. :)
Love your decluttered kitchen! 😉😊😄 Thank you for a great idea to use pimentos! 😊 I see Starbucks might loose some customers 😉🙃😄
😂😂😂 Starbucks
I've though for a long time to make my own egg bites. And they do have lots of extra stuff. This is so timely!
You have a great personality sir 👨🍳
Thank you kindly
Great idea! Perfect for the 16 yo boy who is constantly opening my refrigerator!🎉
6 eggs
4 oz cottage cheese (Good Culture brand)
1/2 c cheese shredded
Any addins you like
Blend
300 degrees for 10 minutes, rotate, 10 to 5 more minutes.
🤍
thank you
Gruyère - GROO YER! 🌸
😅 I will try....
My version for grandkids: take a muffin tin. Butter/spray. Layer a slice of deli smoked ham. Mix up eggs, cheese, peppers, bacon bits, whatever u want. Pour into ham slices and cook. 350° til done (20 min or so).. Very portable for the kids. I also like to put chive cream cheese in the egg mixture.
Great idea!
I copied the recipe and plan to try this soon! BTW you can sous vide with silicone Stasher bags, although I’ve never tried it.
Excellent👏Thank you for sharing.
Oh those look delicious! I think I found my weekend project. Thank you Tim!
Thanks, Man!
❤
😛😋
Starbucks egg bites are my favorites but they’re expensive. I was so excited when I found them frozen at Costco…much cheaper and you can cook them in an air fryer in 9 minutes. Still 9 net carbs though…so Tim’s way is definitely better
Looks very yummy! My egg bites always stick to my tins…must need more Pam! Great video Tim! 🥚🩵
Mine, too! I started using paper cups!
I admit I never had them but definitely tempted now. And I do appreciate your joy in them. That’s one thing I am focusing on is to finding joy in simple things in life. You really have inspired me. 😊
I would try avocado oil spray
good idea...since there are so many out in the market, I am afraid we will need to keep reading the ingrediants anyway...@@noreenn6976
I've made egg bites with my Instant Pot. This was in 2019. I'd never heard of egg bites until I saw the Instant Pot recipes for them. The ingredients in the recipe were almost the same as yours, but I left out some of them (bacon and cottage cheese).
I will definitely try this!
Bonjour Tim! Your egg bites look very appetizing. The recipe is versatile. I could simply add the Gruyere. (Gree as in tree, and err, as in the verb to err. Gree err.) I will try one soon on the way to the aircraft, with my latte. ❤
Tim, I don’t eat these things, but I enjoy you and your content, plus I want you to get the view. Enjoy your week.😊
Looks yummy! Maybe you should get yourself a food truck!!! Ha Thank you for the recipe.
😆😊
My favorite item from Starbucks! Thanks for sharing!
Just picked up my phone to find a recipe for muffin-tin egg bites and, voila, I saw your video (first thing!). Coincidence?🤔 I think not. I'm enjoying your channel. Carry on.
How cool!
Yum. I’m gonna make these this week.
youtuber nicole collett cooks these to help lose weight....keep weight off....about 100 calories each and lots of protein to curb off hunger...good for dieting and good for nutrition
looks tasty will try thanks
Love this thanks for sharing ! One thing though I worked in a kitchen big no no wiping your unwashed hands on the towel you are cross contaminating lol sorry was my job to make sure that wasn’t happening at my job you can retire but the lesson hold tight lol
Thanks! I’m not a very hygienic cook, I’m afraid. But I’ll try to do better. :)
I can’t wait to try your recipe! New subscriber
Hope you enjoy!
I hate cottage cheese so I left that out.. I also use silicone cup trays.. Never a sticking problem. They're a good quick lunch. With fruit.
👍
😊
🤗🙂
I love using the silicone muffin cups for any cupcake shaped recipes
Do you have to use a muffin tin or will those cups stand up on their own?
❤
thanks Tim, looks yummy!
Yaaaaaaaay!!! perfect amount!!!! Didn’t you feel super judging that eight…..I’m going to try these…. I love my breakfast eggs and Omelets so I should love these too….. I’m not a Starbucks customer so I never have seen these…..glad I came across your video….ty for posting 🥰👵🏻
I love your effort and culinary skills.
I have eliminated cheese and bacon and yolks because of cholesterol but I'm sure they're delicious
😮😊
sorry, they are...
Perfect.
😋😋
Gru-air cheese is wonderful!
