It just feels weird having to move your head but you still have to focus on the screen, fine for smaller movements like going out at an intersection, but I'd much rather the VR experience where your screen moves with you.
I've used head tracking for a while and I don't find this an issue. Personally I get quite sick with VR and it feels far more physically exhausting for me. With Tobii you can adjust the speed of the movement so you only have to move your head a bit to get a full 90 degree turn
Nice video mate keep the hard work up! Edit: I think that this eye tracker would work really well on a round screen (the curved ones) so you can actually see around the truck more or just have multiple displays
Great video Sir. I have owned a tobii eye tracker 5 for about a year or so and have not really given it a real chance before but will give it another go. I thought triple monitors would be better but the cost of running 3 32" monitors at todays energy prices have made me rethink the whole thing again. Thanks for posting a great video. All the best Tony
I'm very glad you enjoyed this video! As someone who does not have the space for 3 monitors in landscape (I have one landscape and two either side in portrait) Tobii Eye Tracking is invaluable to increase my immersion. I never thought of the energy cost aspect though, that's interesting!
I have not noticed any performance decreases with Tobii. The app is always on but uses a small amount of ram and CPU power, not nearly enough to affect your game in my opinion. There are however minimum system requirements for Tobii but they are very low, and if you can already run your games with good FPS then you can definitely run Tobii at the same time 😃
I was very excited when I first saw the Tobii Eye Tracker. The promise of hands-free control of my PC with my eyes sounded like science fiction, but the reality was disappointing. In addition to the unreliable tracking, I also found the Tobii Eye Tracker to be very uncomfortable to use. My eyes strain after prolonged use. Overall, I am very disappointed with the Tobii Eye Tracker. The tracker is unreliable, uncomfortable, and the software is not user-friendly. I would definitely not recommend the product to others....
in my opinion, buying an oculus quest 2 is better, its around the same price if not cheaper, and it feels awkward needing to look around but still focusing on the screen, but vr your eyes are the screen i guess
That's the minimal route advisor mod. Tobii is a good option if you get motion sick in VR easily. You also don't need a very powerful pc to use it unlike VR
Hello, could you please write in the description which mods you're using like you did in one of your last videos in ProMods? Would highly appreciate that.
How far distance can the Tobii work? I play ETS2 on my TV with a gaming chair and I sit around 2.5 meters from the TV and I can't really see any other location, I can place the Tobii than at the TV.
hello i watched your review and decided this is something that ive wanted as hate coming to a junction and having to stop and look left and right using my paddles on the wheel however after only a few hours today i'm finding apart from the fact at times my eyes think i'm drunk as the screen isn't that stable (i will have to look into the settings a nightmare for me) i'm wondering if its possible to disable the eye tracking and just use the head movement for seeing around, ive looked around but the world on the net is full of misdirection's so you would be the best person to ask i think. thanks
Yes absolutely. I've used other tracking systems before and this is more convenient because I don't have to wear anything on my head like a tracking hat or clip on my headset

@@SimulatorAdventures so what where your settings I used to use mine for star citizen but this game is clearly different
turns head to left, Yep i see my closet!
Haha 😅 that's not what I see 🙈
You need to adjust the curves so that e.g 5 degrees of irl rotation translates to 50 degrees of in-game rotation or however you want it
Thats not how it works...
I amazed at how this can simulate realistic head movement without getting you sick!
Can you make a beamng video with the tobii eye tracker?
Yes I can make videos on BeamNG with this!
He did a stream last night using it in beaming
A sponsored video is not a review!

"Turns head to right and looks back" oh man, my car is in a tree
That's never happened to me
Nice video mate keep the hard work up!

Thank you! Yes it does work well on curved screens and Tobii even include a mount designed for curved monitors.
Open track and a cheap webcam also works pretty well in ets2

I like this video and i really love ETS2
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the video 😁
Very well demonstrated!
I got to know everything that I wanted. Thanks a lot!😁👍
Glad it was helpful!
Would be nice if tou could share the profile :)
As you show the position and roll in the video but it's disabled in the settings you show at the start
Does the tobii eye tracker decrease ur in game fps, based on ur experience? 😊

Nice Video!!! I think I Need To Get One
What Map Is This?
Thanks! This is the ProMods map
I suppose this is more practical if you have a big monitor?
in my opinion, buying an oculus quest 2 is better, its around the same price if not cheaper, and it feels awkward needing to look around but still focusing on the screen, but vr your eyes are the screen i guess
How did you get that Info bar at the Top, also might consider buying this over an VR. What do you recommend?

What steering wheel is that? It looks so cool! Can you tell it's name?
It’s the Logitech g27
Yea Logitech G27
@@br0ken_toast414 Thanks! very helpful :D
@@SimulatorAdventures Thank you! very helpful :D
does it also work with a mask on, with the eyetracker only seeing your eyes?
It should do, although I haven't tried it out.

Just Grand Utopia and SiSL's route advisor
@@SimulatorAdventures OK, thanks a lot for the answer 👍
Nice video, in Beamng tobi do not work, but works the irtracker in ets2 also good?
Yes in ETS2 Tobii works very well. I hope that BeamNG gets support but like you say it is technically supported with extra software such as open track
How far distance can the Tobii work? I play ETS2 on my TV with a gaming chair and I sit around 2.5 meters from the TV and I can't really see any other location, I can place the Tobii than at the TV.
The operating distance is 45-95cm, that's still further than other alternatives out there.
how well does it work with beamNG?👍👌🇸🇪
It works well, it's not officially supported just yet but you can use open track, a free piece of software, for it to interact with the game
Even at the discounted price point I'll have to pass for the foreseeable future

You just have to turn gaze tracking to 0% to disable eye tracking
I am struggling to link the eye tracker with my ps5 gameplay.
I don't think Tobii is currently supported on PS5?
The tobi is great, how much does it cost?
It's currently on a 15% discount so it's 237 Euros/Pounds. Info: tobii.gg/simfestsimulatoradventures - (Ends 28/01/24)
Sir,wonder why you don’t blink your eyes.
That’s kind of creepy.No offense.
ok first person, and why didn't you show how it works from the 3rd person
Because it can't be used in third person. This is designed for first person perspective only.
This plus a VR headset?
The Tobi is useless compared to VR. VR headset does way more range and freedom then this.
Is it your real opinion
Yes absolutely. I've used other tracking systems before and this is more convenient because I don't have to wear anything on my head like a tracking hat or clip on my headset
First oml but great vid!
Thanks! 😁
Cool
Map mod link please??
Grand Utopia
First lol
Thanks for watching 😊
