8:24 interesting comment Smith, especially since there has been a lot of commotion about the impact of bringing back the F1 to Zandvoort. No so much on the CO2 side, but mainly on the direct impact on the surrounding environment. There were some protected animals who lived there (Zandvoort is in the dunes on the Northsea), and also some teams wanted to drive across the beach to avoid traffic, part of which is a resting and nesting area for birds (especially in May when the race was planned). But the main topic of discussion was the emission of nitric oxides of which there is way to much in the Netherlands. After a judge ruled that the emissions needed to be reduced the max. speed during the day went down to 100km/h, farmers had and have to reduce there livestock and no more permits where given to build anything. But since the owner of the racing track is part of the royal family, and there is class justice in the Netherlands, that all didn’t matter and the whole project could go on. Thank you
Wanted to write a comment on this as well, thanks. One addition: that resting area on the beach is also for seals. The worst thing in my opinion is that, while the entire country is in lockdown because finally the high court ordered the government to finally fucking do something about nitrogen levels after failing to keep their own promise for almost a decade, this project was still pushed through *and the government pretended that everyone wanted this as well*. I quote: "The entire country is looking forward to it, and it would be fantastic if the cars simply went vroom on May 3rd." Utter bastards.
ridiculous how everyone has to suffer for some imaginary limits on certain gasses. meanwhile the rest of the world takes advantage and is ramping up industry to the point places like China produce more emissions than the whole of the west combined. Just futile and ignorant.
I know its old but i really recommend the whole 2018 season. It was a magnificent adventure of chaos, unexpected situations and rivalry between Bottas, Hamilton and Vettel. Seeing Bottas grow from a new guy to a rival of Hamilton. And the anger between Hamilton and Vettel as they bump tires in a night race. THE DRAMA!! Trust me on this. Download the full Sky tv 3 hour pre and after show versions of those races, it really helps build the mood and understanding for whats going on, who is who, etc. Just the races on their own doesnt really give you the whole story, the lore xD Its hella more exciting when you know the drama LOL
@@Baleur Yea kind of a shame that I just got started but like any sport I reckon the drama is what makes it, better late than never right lol anyway thanks mate will try to catch the before and after the race show going forward
I watched this video when it came out and I'm back here a month plus later, literally for that part. they made a a reference to castle combe in one of the recent f1 vids and made me crave it
Craig is such a great teacher for the boiks. I love it when Hat Films are behind the wheel. To answer Craig's question, certain sauces go in the fridge but mostly they go in the cupboard.
Please! We need a F1 2020 my team, where Craig is the driver, and the boiks manage the team. They get to choose Craigs team mates, the car sponsors, the R&D etc
Ross is improving a lot in these, I love games where he's good at them (at least in comparison to Trott & Smith), because I love the guy but his dog vision acts up a lot in other games lmao.
it's hard for me sometimes cause Ross fucking sucks at everything and I rarely get the satisfaction of having my favorite Hatter win things and instead experience mild disappointment
Ross just running into the back of a parked Smith was actually terrifying, just came into view outta nowhere!! I couldn't imagine racing those cars, but I guess that's why I leave it to the professionals, like Craiggle and the Chocolate Bois, haha This whole video was great, and I especially loved the invisible fire bit XD XD
I used to keep my sauce in the cupboard, until my mum came round one day and saw I had mayo in the cupboard that had been in there for a month+ and told me not to use it anymore. Since then, all of my sauces are fridge dwellers, so I can keep them as long as possible.
For that human cars bit it reminds me of that Japanese commercial for max coffee. Took me a while to find it but its basically what smith was talking about lmao
I wouldn't recommend constantly re-heating and cooling your ketchup, smith; that's generally a bad idea for food as it can encourage growth of bacteria... don't know if the vinegar would combat it though
The Netherlands, of course, a place so depraved and sexually active that Cristopher Scrott's heinous sexual crimes will go unnoticed. Clever Trout that one, gotta respect that, even after all he did to those kids.
@@Ivan--Drago First of all im sorry to hear you had to go through surgery, I hope it all went perfectly and you're recovered friend. The joke is a running gag from a long time ago, I don't know if it stemmed from a specific video, but I faintly recall smith saying it as a joke, and ross joining in, that Trott had done horrible things to children, and that he shouldn't be let near schools. That being said, It's all jokes, Trott is a model citizen.
no here in the Netherlands we welcome Christopher in all his ways. We accommodate him in all is dreams. I mean it was his wish to have those 8 year old kids fighting each other to the death.
The risk with the old LeMans starts wasn't getting run over as you ran across the track, the risk was the natural inclination of racing drivers to do anything to gain an advantage which usually meant getting the car started and off the line first followed by the less advantageous (in terms of track position) things like seat belts. Generally the plan was to race through the first section of the track and then sort your belts out at the Mulsanne straight, this was fine (in theory) unless you had an accident before this point. The start of a race is the most dangerous time because all the cars are bunched up and faster cars who had trouble getting off the line may have to get past slow cars which got away cleanly, the speed difference is frightening and cars with cold tyres, brakes and heavy fuel loads can be unpredictable. As such, huge accidents are likely and safety standards were low to begin with, if you add not being strapped in to the mix it's highly likely that someone will die or receive life changing injuries. And yes, people did frequently drive while intoxicated from the night before.
Smith just pointing out the F1 is an incredibly large source of carbon emissions compared to other sports and Craig is basically "oh shit, I didn't think about that"
As fridge and cupboard storing sauce users we must unite together to bring down the monstrosity of Alex Smith, He Who puts his sauce in the fridge and then MICROWAVES IT like an absolute monster. We must rise up and quell this injustice before it gains traction with the common man and all hope is lost. TO ARMS!!!
I would like to thank Smithy for waiting a whole 9 minutes into the video to rip Craigs passion apart. The emotional blunt force trama on Craigals face will haunt me for days, or until the end of the video...
8:24 They do a few things to battle their environmental impact, such as planning the race calendar to reduce travelling as much as they can, all F1 tyres used are recycled after they’re used, for the past 7 years all the F1 cars have been hybrids. They’re also planning on becoming carbon neutral and using 100% biofuels (I think it’s biofuels) by 2030. Unfortunately money talks and they almost destroyed an entire forest in Brazil for a new track for no reason. It took the entire F1 community to pressure them into not doing it. Also, this Netherlands track has had serious controversy. I’m sure there’s comments below giving details on that.
They NEED to play a full grid race against AI. They need to experience that. With damage, at least cosmetic so they feel consequence for bumping into shit. xD
If the sauce is supposed to be in the fridge, I do so, if it is not, I don't. I don't understand how this can be divisive. Each product literally tells you what to do. @Zechariah Devin How has TH-cam not erased all these dumbass spam comments yet.
Ross slamming into Trott then saying it was Trotts fault was fantastic. He looked so confused and lost at being blamed.
Ross has got the true f1 mentality
Trott opened up into Ross' rear wheel which forced Ross to the right

Big brain play from Smith using energy to cool down his sauce just so he can use energy to heat it up again.

The invisible fires were caused by methanol based fuels, which they don’t use anymore (at least in nascar)
