LOVE LOVE THIS!!! I've been a mega fan of Kansas since 1975, and this album could easily have been done back then, no mistaking that classic Kansas sound, unmatched by any other band ever!
A masterpiece in the tradition of the old Kansas! A song with elements to please every age group! I experience an AMSR every time I hear this song. Eight minutes of music which fills me joy. Thank you Phil, Rich, Billy, David, Zak, Ronnie, and Tom!
I’ve been hesitant to listen to it because of all the lineup changes, including Steve Walsh’s retirement, but Geez, this IS Kansas! All I can say is WOW!
This album is AMAZING! I liked the 2016 release, but this takes things to a whole new level in my opinion. I've been a fan since the mid 70's, so glad their still making awesome music! Though only 2 original members remain, newer members bring awesome talent along with a respect for the Kansas sound.
I can see reflections Drifting into space Always through a mirror Never face to face I ask another question The words disintegrate The absence of presence fills the air I know you're here but you're not really there Blinding bright projections Crash against the wall I can't get your attention No matter how loudly I call Reaching for connection To break the silent stare The absence of presence fills the air I know you're here but you're not really there Imagine we broke through The noise of our creation And found the missing pieces This moment kept alive In suspended animation And finally completed I can hear the echoes As they reverberate I turn to chase the sound again But I'm just a step too late I can still remember The way it resonates The presence of absence disappears I know you're there but you're not really here

Awesome! Amazing! Brilliant! The magic of Kansas has been enlightening me since 1975. Totally agree.... it reminds me some passages of "All the World" , even the voice is Walsh-ish for moments. Glad to re-encounter that 70s era of Kansas.

As much as I like The Prelude Implicit, TAOP is head and shoulders above it. This album could fit in between Point and Monolith quite comfortably. I know they had more time to prep and work on this one, and it definitely shows. Zak did his homework, there's enough callbacks to the Kansas of old in these songs. Musicianship is definitely top notch. I don't don't know how Phil keeps playing at this level, given his age and the amount of punishment his body has taken playing, but he's lost nothing at all. I can see reflections
Drifting into space
Always through a mirror
Never face to face
I ask another question
The words disintegrate
The absence of presence fills the air
I know you're here but you're not really there
Blinding bright projections
Crash against the wall
I can't get your attention
No matter how loudly I call
Reaching for connection
To break the silent stare
The absence of presence fills the air
I know you're here but you're not really there
Imagine we broke through
The noise of our creation
And found the missing pieces
This moment kept alive
In suspended animation
And finally completed
I can hear the echoes
As they reverberate
I turn to chase the sound again
But I'm just a step too late
I can still remember
The way it resonates
The presence of absence disappears
I know you're there but you're not really here
