Brother, I'm also 62 and I've been listening to guys since 1975. For me, this is the best band. The only thing is, without Steve Walsh, everything somehow smells like a Dream Theater. As it is, everything is OK. Kansas is also loved in Russia.

KANSAS!!!!! This is F***ing awesome! The real KANSAS sound. Amazing guitar licks by Rich and Zak. Davids violin is perfection along with Ronnie’s vocals! Can’t wait for the whole album release! Thank you KANSAS once again!
@@LarryFleetwood8675 Yep, it's "hot" and there's no dynamic range here. But I think the reason for the release delay was because they realized that they can't cut a vinyl LP with this mix without the needle jumping the grove, and that triggered a collective "Oh Fuck!" moment. Either remaster the album or undo the mastering process. The quickest and cheapest solution is to undo the mastering, and give us Zak's mix clean off the board. Since this delay, I did hear -- briefly -- a version of this song that isn't hot, wasn't compressed, had dynamic range ... but it was on bright side. Phil beat his china like it owed him money.
I saw them last night at the AT and T performing arts center in Dallas Texas. Absolutely puts audiences in a trance. Richard Williams is an all time classic!! Kansas is a Band!!!
This is such a special moment. As a younger Kansas fan, new music from the band is a special, precious event. I probably won't be able to enjoy these moments all that often in my life, so I am savoring this experience. And what a good song to savor it to.
I saw hundreds of bands live in my life. But when Kansas came years ago in Quebec city with Styx, everyone in the crowd wasn't making any noise because they where too flabbergasted of how these guys controls everything in their sound. How tight they where. It was almost frightening to the normies. Controlling the velocity with their instruments all at the same time and no it wasn't the console guy lowering the volume, it was them. No mistake anywhere, notes for notes. For once we where able to hear the keyboard and vocals. One of the best prog band I have ever seen, and with Yes, Threshold and Rush they where the most tight. And I have seen them all in the last 42 years. Probably will never see them again. They came again this year but I was too sick because of Lyme disease to go see them. But boy I would have love to see that again.
My wife and I saw Kansas in WV last summer, and if you closed your eyes, you'd have sworn that you were listening to Leftoverture on your turntable. Every chord, note, lyric, etc., was dead on. I can't wait to see them again whenever we are out of our COVID prison!

Older, newer members.....but still very very much still Kansas. Strange how some bands lose one member and the whole thing crumbles, these guys? This still feels like and sounds like the Kansas I’ve always loved, even better if that’s possible. Awesome new album!!!!
Nice seeing people I know in the crowd shots! I am SO happy for the band, they truly sound fantastic, and it reminds me of Kansas from back in the day.
Still the sound, and yet new. I am grateful to their new album. Lost love of and once again found. Thank you Kansas for once more of the love of music.
A GREAT new collaborative effort from the Wayward Sons! Listen to this in a great pair of headphones about a dozen times or so. Compositionally, lyrically, and from both performance and production standpoints it is BADA$$! These guys AREN'T just dust in the wind.
One of the outstanding tracks on this excellent new album, one of the very best that Kansas has ever recorded ! Zak Rizvi was already an ace for the band, definitely inspired by Kerry Livgren, but they recruited Tom Brislin who's not only a great keyboard player but also an inspired composer. He wrote two great songs and added more interesting lyrics. This track is almost some kind of typical proggy heavy Kansas with wonderful instrumentation from all members.
Man o man! Love this track. Like a rollercoaster ride. All full of twist and turns and can't stop smiling though the whole song. Make me proud to be.the die hard Wheathead I am. Can't wait till June!
Sounds aweeeesome... the guitars, the violins, how the violin melts with the guitar in the crescendo part of the middle and the vocals are great.... worths the waiting!!
This is a masterpiece of music! Rock on Kansas! I’m fans of all the groups people hear influences from in this song but all I know is I can’t stop playing this song and singing along to it!
I have been in Israel for quite a while. Israeli music fans come from all sides of the political and music spectrum. And they show great respect. I hope this band comes here to play! If not, then Zoom one. Sounds great! Would love to see my favorite original musicians
After one listen, it's promising - a good mix of the classic sound with modern, harder rocking influences. I understand the sentiment of those who miss the past members, but for me, I feel like those past members ran their courses, and the current line-up is more capable of honoring the Kansas name at the moment. I like what the band has evolved into, and I'm more interested in this line-up continuing as Kansas than the past members returning. I would hate for the originals to come back and the album be disappointing. And I feel the same way about the current Styx line-up. Anyway, I remember when "In the Spirit of Things" failed commercially, I wondered if that was the final death blow for the band. I never had any idea they would still be going strong 32 years later, right here in 2020! If it's not canceled, I plan to see the band here in the Indianapolis area with Foreigner and Europe in July 25. It will be my son's first concert!
Lec Zorn Agree 100%! Well said. I also have tix for the same show in St Louis in July. Hope it isn’t cancelled and your son gets to see a great first show!
All of the former members still have their chops. Even Steve has regained his voice. The road was taking a toll on it. Singing night after night isn't easy. The original six are all still playing, and Kerry is still writing. Even Dave is in a band, now, I hear. I don't know if the original six would write a song like this, but I know they could all still play their respective parts. But that's one of the joys of music. Every person is an individual. Even the same music, the same part can be expressed differently by another individual. These new members are just as good as the originals, and they are carrying the Kansas Torch quite well. And there are several writers in this group, to keep the Kansas style cooking. And just for the record, "In the Spirit of Things" is one of my favorites. A large part of the problem was the lack of backing by the record company. I think Steve Morse brought a powerful addition to the band, in the two albums he was on. I think that's part of the wonder of Kansas. Every member has brought something special to the band. That's a legacy to be proud of. Kansas is still a band!
Steve couldn't sing like Steve anymore and his head wasn't really on straight so him leaving was a blessing....but... there will never be another Steve Walsh again....he was fabulous.... Ronnie has done a splendid job taking over although I liked John Elefante too... I see this as 3 Kansas phases... I saw Styx a couple summers ago....their voices were shot from too much touring.... and yes they miss Dennis DeYoung even though the new guy is good.... (btw, Dennis DeYoungs band is great)
@@brcs78 - I've been watching Ronnie sing for 30+ years and I couldn't be happier for him. He's a gifted person but also a very positive person and treats his fans like they're friends.

I want to congratulate you Phil and Rich - I will always treasure the years of Kansas with Steve (and John), Kerry, Dave and Robbie - but you've kept the magic and fire amidst these personnel changes, that is so VERY hard to do, but you've done it!
I've been a Kansas fan for over thirty years. It's been my experience to rarely like a Kansas tune during the first listen. This tune is an exception to the rule: it's prog certainly with a nice hook in the chorus.
Still after 40 plus years and changes, KANSAS brings on another gear and knocks it over the fence! The lyrics and phenomenal musicianship are on full display! Can't wait to see this song performed on stage! I am, a fan forever!!
The preview snippets from a few weeks ago sounded tantalizing - and now this!! Epic, powerful song! The current lineup quite ably channels the authentic musical muscle and spirit of the original lineup while charting a promising course for the future. Kansas is a band and Kansas lives!
You spoke my sentiments exactly. This is the best stuff of the new KANSAS configuration, been listening since they started and this has me in awe too. In my mind I could imagine people up on the space station above us listening to it or to maybe hear it in a Star Trek series. Wow, yep, awe is a great term for my response to their doing this song.
The first 30secs of this sounds like it came from Rush's Clockwork Angels album and there are hints of that sound throughout (bass lines and keyboards). Love this tune! Listened to this at least 10x already!
Wow ! I've been a fan since 1975 listening to them on my 8 track in my 69 chevy C20. These guys always come through even with different line ups. Love Ronnie Platt and the new members....Great song guys! Thanks Rich and Phil for the strong work ethic and keeping it going. Stay strong and healthy. Never surrender!

THANK YOU SO MUCH - please produce more of this fantastic music - love all the new band members too and especially Tom Brislin Looking forward seeing you in 2021 in GERMANY
Saw them in July 1979 at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo, Mi. It was the ‘’Monolith Tour’’ BEST concert I ever saw. It’s too bad that the band is no longer the originals, but times change 🙁 I should mention but as my brother and I were sneaking off behind the building to visit the trees while we were waiting in line to get in, we almost got run over by Robbie Steinhart driving a Dodge diplomat. I’m guessing that he was in a hurry to make a last minute pick up before the concert.
Two of the originals are still in the band. AND, all of the current members have been approved by all the originals, so I don't know how they could have stayed closer to the legacy of the originals any better than they have. They sound AWESOME today, both recorded AND live. I've seen them several times since this lineup came on board. I'll be seeing them again not long down the road, too. They're SO good! Also, if any of the originals are in town when the band is playing, there's an open invitation for them to join the band on stage, and they usually do for a song or two.
Congratulations gentlemen! You've done it again...reaffirmed why I've been a fan of yours the last 50 years!! This song is INCREDIBLE!! Phil....you're one of the greatest drummers on the planet!! No wonder the band is so tight with you behind the helm!! 👍👍

John Colling - Cool your jets, man. What he obviously meant was the original 6 guys playing together. He didn’t say there were no original members left. For a know-it-all, you’re kinda slow to catch on, eh?
@@johncolling8629 well I may be young but all credit was given when it hit and is just as monumental as it was originally i mean my goodness what more do you want lmbo
You know what will be funny? When this album will be released, it will go to the top ten album charts and will be certified gold or platinum! It would be great for some rockers to out sell some rap or hip hop act! Kansas is still awesome!
Older, newer members.....but still very very much still Kansas. Strange how some bands lose one member and the whole thing crumbles, these guys? This still feels like and sounds like the Kansas I’ve always loved, even better if that’s possible. Awesome new album!!!!
Reminds me of rhythm in the spirit! Love it already
Thank you and God Bless you for continuing to carry the torch in a world that lacks good, sincere, and real music.
Nice to see the shots of the Tennessee Theatre in this video. Go Knoxville and thank you Kansas for the new music!
I thought it was the Alabama when I first glanced at it! We have the same kind of sign :) Great that y'all have a beautiful old theater too!!
Nice seeing people I know in the crowd shots! I am SO happy for the band, they truly sound fantastic, and it reminds me of Kansas from back in the day.
Thats a very nice theatre, I would love to hear KANSAS there someday if they go back.
I saw a whole lotta movies there years ago.
Kansas is forever one of my biggest bands in the world. I love you ;-)
RIP Robby Steinhardt, First violinist of the band.
Man that's good. Kansas keeps being awesome. Lifetime fan here. Thank you
They are playing this on the current tour, what a great song!
Proper classic prog rock with a modern sound. Love it. Thanks for existing, Kansas.
I have been in Israel for quite a while. Israeli music fans come from all sides of the political and music spectrum. And they show great respect. I hope this band comes here to play! If not, then Zoom one. Sounds great! Would love to see my favorite original musicians
This one will be a crowd favorite when touring resumes. The whole album is awesome and to experience it live will be amazing! KANSAS is a band!
Aug 25 for me in Camden NJ. It will be my 19th Kansas show!
This is awesome! I saw them in Sacramento 3 years ago. They should be in the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame NOW.
Yep its time now.
sounding great as always . i will never forget Kansas in concert long , long ago .
I'm an Aussie and have been a massive Kansas fan since the 70s. I have a good collection of original vinyl as well as recently released cds. Greatest band ever
Great sounding, fantastic song, exactly what I expect from a Prog-Rock band like Kansas! Very promissing album!
I want to congratulate you Phil and Rich - I will always treasure the years of Kansas with Steve (and John), Kerry, Dave and Robbie - but you've kept the magic and fire amidst these personnel changes, that is so VERY hard to do, but you've done it!
Guys, i never heard about this band before, but i can tell you: I LIKE THEM SO MUCH!
These guys just continue to prove they have it all for over 40 YEARS! See you August 26th in Virginia Beach!
Holy Frijoles! These guys are getting better and better. Gotta have this.
Kansas was always greatl! Watching them live on you tube is excellent!☮️❤️☯️
Yes!!!!! That's the Kansas I know and love. Can't wait to hear the new album.
That's SOOOOO amazing, so I can't find a words!!!! Kansas is always in my heart since Carry on Wayward Son listened about 40 years ago....
The bass guitar line in the chorus is kick ass.
Billy Greer RULES!!!!
@@crusheverything4449 yeah,,,,he is great...
Wow, simply awesome, the way Kansas has been and still is.....and looking forward to a concert here In Phx in the future!!!
I love these guys so much! I love this new song too! Wow! Some of the best concerts I have ever been to is their shows!
The preview snippets from a few weeks ago sounded tantalizing - and now this!! Epic, powerful song! The current lineup quite ably channels the authentic musical muscle and spirit of the original lineup while charting a promising course for the future. Kansas is a band and Kansas lives!
Damn, even in this new iteration, they haven't missed a step. Wonderful sound from one of the all-time great bands!
OMG I was going to type a comment but I am so awestruck, I have no words..... Be well and be safe Kansas fans and fanatics ! 😷😂💖
Amazing song. Very heavy but melodic with a lot of interesting musical changes. Just pre-ordered it from Amazon.
That is exactly what I thought as well!
First thought that popped into my head
I thought the same thing. Obviously lots of Clockwork Angels influence on this song.
Kansas was ahead of their time, they don’t make bands like this anymore...
🙏❤️
Glad to know I saw them in New York live back in December!
Kansas Band - hey you oldtimers and newbies of Prog'n Roll - PLEASE stay healty and together - a damn fine line up represents my alltime fave band in 2020 !
THANK YOU SO MUCH - please produce more of this fantastic music - love all the new band members too and especially Tom Brislin
Looking forward seeing you in 2021 in GERMANY
Love It!! From a long time Kansas fan.
Four decades, three different lineups, still an amazing band.
THIS IS A LOVELY PIECE OF MUSIC .. WELL WRITTEN , WELL PRESENTED ..... AND AS USUAL TIGHT AS A....... YOU KNOW WHAT IN A SANDSTORM !!!!!!!!
Saw that same Monolith tour in Tucson. Most amazing live show evah!
Monolith is an incredible album!!!!
Jon Hiller - There you go again, knowing it all.
@@crusheverything4449 I'm only repeating what has been said by the band members themselves, including the former members.
This song is epic ! I love it :) Saw them live in Montreal and they were so amazing. I'm a 90's kid but man I love this band 😎👍
Congratulations gentlemen! You've done it again...reaffirmed why I've been a fan of yours the last 50 years!! This song is INCREDIBLE!! Phil....you're one of the greatest drummers on the planet!! No wonder the band is so tight with you behind the helm!! 👍👍
出だしメッチャカッコいい演奏🎵🎵🎵👍✨
Kansas最高‼️
間奏のバイオリン🎻も最高❤️
This is GREAT! Really sounds CLASSIC! Great singer! Jamming guitar! Just a perfect song!
Kansas rocks! Love the new song. Saw them perform it live last fall. Amazing.
Are you kidding me? It just gets better and better. Long live Kansas!
I know that sound...I LOVE that sound! Bravo!
Too compressed for my liking, instruments need to breathe...
It's amazing that there are oldies stations playing classic rock, but few venues for classic rock and roll bands and their new music.
Another KANSAS masterpiece... I really like the mix w/ Ronnie's vocals (which sound great)! Of course, David, Billy, Phil & Rich are truly in a class by themselves in rock music royalty!
Sounds like Kansas, which means it sounds damn good!
This absolutely ROCKS!
Excellent! No stones unturned. Perfect
