Sorry I missed it live but congratulations Robin! I noticed it’s been awhile since something appeared on Robin Reads and I thought you were recording a longer novel but now I see what really happened.
Listening to you all reminisce about topics you covered on the old channel made me nostalgic and I had to pause and realize how long you have been a part of my life. I started watching Alltime Conspiracies back in 2016 when I was 23 years old and in college. Since then I followed that channel (with its different categories of videos and podcast) and eventually followed you to JI and followed Robin’s audiobook channel as well. Now I’m 30 and over the past 8 years years I’ve lived in 4 different cities, graduated college and have had 3 different jobs, been married and divorced and the whole time I’ve listened to you. It’s given me memories of listening to your video on the pope while on break during my part-time job in college, listening to 40 of the old podcast episodes driving cross country from Florida to Nevada in 2019, listening to you read my comment during the podcast for the first time while on a flight to Toronto and having to stop myself from jumping up and cheering, listening to you talk about aliens to try and help me sleep because I was going through a breakup and needed to take my mind off things and the memories go on.
I don’t always agree with your take on things and I’m probably on the opposite side of the political spectrum from you guys but I don’t let it stop me from hearing what you have to say. The internet is full of parasocial relationships and I guess I have one with you all. Anywhere here’s to many more years of JI, Uncovered, Robin Reads and whatever life brings, love you all from the USA!

I'm so sad to have missed this live!
So, as you may remember, I am from Arizona, also I frequently do little road trips with a friend of mine who is an astrophotographer. She is a planner. For the last 18 months to 2 years she has been planning a trip to the zone of totality. Sadly, she did not get the shot. We went to Texas, we were dead center. It was entirely clouded. We saw basically nothing. She spent thousands on this trip, airfare, lodging, rental car, tickets into the farm where she wanted to set up for her photography, she even bought a star tracker. Thousands.
For my part, while I was sad to not get to see the corona and the different phenomena surrounding the total eclipse, I did experience the dead of night in the middle of the day. And when I say it was awesome, I mean it caused me to cry awesome. The strangeness was incomparable in my experience.
The birds stopped singing, we were on a wild seed farm, the bird song was not inconsequential to begin with. They went silent. Then the night song of the crickets and other buggies swelled. It was so loud. It triggered my tinnitus. And there was what appeared to be sunset in every direction on the horizon. And it was dark. Dark dark. The very darkest twilight. It was the darkness that you might experience if the cloud cover is total and there's a full moon.
    Awesome.
We're now planning a trip to Iceland for the next one. Or maybe Australia. The next local one would be in 2044. We're too old to wait for that one.
The Wildseed Farms, we're amazing, they just had a major hail storm days before, so the field were not their best shape, but it was still just absolutely gorgeous with poppies, red poppies everywhere, Indian Paintbrush and what they call Texas Bluebells, everywhere else they are called lupin. Worth the drive.
We also visited the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, a beautiful botanical garden, not to be missed if you're in the area.
And the whole area was just gorgeous. We stayed in a verbo in San Marcos, which is somewhere between Austin and San Antonio, fabulous little college town.
Also, on the way out of Texas, because we flew, we waited in a line that was, and I'm not exaggerating, at least a mile long, it's stretched outside, nearly to the freeway, for two and a half hours, before we waited for another half hour in a line to get through the TSA. We were 3 hours early for our flight, we nearly missed it. What a nightmare.
So yeah, all that, and we actually didn't get to see the eclipse. Plus I missed your live! I'm so sad.

Brilliant episode as always, I haven’t missed any of the 150, and extra special congratulations to Robin 🥳 I distinctly remember being introduced to the concept of conspiracies theories watching X Files, it blew my tiny little mind

It would be interesting to discuss how the Kennedy assassination has been portrayed in other medias, such as Stephen King 11.22.63 and Umbrella Academy graphic novel.

@@MicaiahBaron Nope those are disney Star WOES. The real Star Wars ended in December 2012 when George Lucas sold it to the Mouse. Maybe the Mayans were correct, the world did end December 2012.

Funny how many 'conspiracy theories' as most lefties call them, become true isn't it. I love your content, but you can be prats at times.

Funny how many conservatives can't handle being wrong, and have to rewrite reality to pretend conspiracy theories are true.
