@@TheAscendedTechNinja tj maxx ,Ross , Marshall’s sell overstock or returned items so it’s hit or miss. But yeah definitely around Christmas they pull the out the good stuff. Somebody had picked up a partybox 100 right before I could grab it. It went for $200. But I already have a pb300 so what ever
Interesting. Out of all my speakers only my Sony SRS-XG500 is refurbished but I got lucky because there is not a single scratch or problem with it so far and I got it on Amazon for 183 after tax
Yes especially at higher volumes and the firmware update and I did a video on the Charge 5 VS Xtreme 2 here if your interested th-cam.com/video/Af_cjbcDqxI/w-d-xo.html
Have you heard of the charge essential? It’s basically a charge 4 but without the app and sounds not as good but sounds good still I used to have one 😂 it’s kinda in between the charge 3 and 4
@@TheAscendedTechNinja yeah I got mine from Costco for 130$ and had problems with them 2 times so I returned and got the charge 5, one of them my speaker kept turning off then the other one there was a buzzing sound when there was bass in a song it was like vibrating kinda weird
Is the Xtreme 2 still a worthy purchase in 2023 given that it’s £150 on the JBL UK site compared to paying a minimum of £220 for an Xtreme 3 anywhere else? I mean, what I’m trying to say is that are the upgrade(s) significant enough enough to warrant paying that bit extra?
Excellent question and in my Xtreme 3 full review I said it wasn't worth the extra money and even after the EQ update it has gotten better but 70£ more is not bad. but here are some things to consider. Partyboost, more highs, more deep bass and its louder. The Xtreme 2 has better mids and more mid, upper bass and its cheaper. This video is pretty old however it should give you some good detail on which one to choose th-cam.com/video/egdr3d3P6Ow/w-d-xo.html
Did you ever try a Charge 5 and an Xtreme 3 side by side? I’m asking because my Charge 5 sounds really loud with all the EQ bands maxed (probably not a great idea and I’m gonna come under fire for that by those who appreciate sound quality) and I’m wondering if the Xtreme 3 unplugged can match the Charge 5 for volume? Also, I was very surprised at how it holds its own against the Boombox 2 for volume when considering its size and both are unplugged. It would seem that the vast majority of extra power in the Boombox 2 is all put into bass as opposed to adding much more in terms of just absolute volume. I couldn’t name the parts where the bass comes from but I’m still learning, maybe power goes to the passive radiators? 😅
@@TheAscendedTechNinja good to know I’m not imagining it, seems a bit of a shame really but I guess it’s more than loud enough without having to add another nearly 5kg for a Partybox 110 with considerable less portability.
I saw you on Alan Ross reviews so i had to subscribe. I just got my second xtreme2 at tj maxx for $99 last night. I’ll call it a win.
Thanks bro and that is a absolute win 👌
I had no idea they even sold speakers especially JBL😯
