    I have had this problem for years. Had several plumbers come out and no one has figured it out. They all say I am getting it wet when I shower, but since I’ve lived here for 21 years and it’s a recent problem, obviously they are wrong. Gonna show the next guy your video!

      Or it has deteriorated after time and you truly do have a leak. Maybe house shifted and there is a small gap now. I say with love!

      Because it's a little every time, you don't notice until the damage is obvious. I've been in my house 20 years and we just started seeing the damage last year. Out damaged the ceiling of a closet that is underneath.

    😂 “if they spinning on your spout , tell them to go home”

    Those tub surround assemblies are no good. I've lived in rentals that had those and they ALL leak at the seams, whether caulked or not. Only a seamless tub surround will not leak.

    Because there’s no sealant or puddy, the water from the spout drips to behind the wall causing the damage on the wall?

    You skipped over the part I was interested in, the dry wall repair of that area next to the tub; do you have the covered in another video?

      I clicked hoping to see the drywall patch myself as that's what the thumbnail showed and I have that problem.

      @@GetToThePointplz123 no worries. My repair area that's damaged is smaller than what you show here but down to the studs. It is in the same location as this repair. Can I tape it and use Durabond 45 too?

    How did you fix the rotted area? Did you replace the drywall there or just add compound?

    • @GetToThePointplz123
      @GetToThePointplz123  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Used durabond and mesh tape, wasn't bad enough to remove drywall

    Do you have a video of fixing the drywall. I have the same problem and I don't know where to start from the drywall

    That thing you put first in order to seal the empty space, is there something like that for the taps? I have some water leaking through the taps holes. You can see the other side! No wonder the water gets in there. Do you have any suggestions?

      Not exactly sure where your leak is or how big the hole is?Plumbers putty or silicone should work

    Why only seal the last 4 inches?

    • @GetToThePointplz123
      @GetToThePointplz123  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most remodel tubs with seems are made to direct water back into the tub , the last few inches should be caulked when its installed to insure it doesn't run out of the tub onto the floor or into the drywall. You have to make sure your caulk gets all the way in and around the outside corner otherwise water will get behind the caulk and cause an issue like the one here. If it was done during install this probably wouldn't have occurred

    Who does this type of repair to both faucet and wall?

      Hard to find but anyone who does bath remodeling, handyman, carpenter...best thing is ask friends and family who they would recommend, good luck👍

      If its really bad cut the drywall out completely and replace before mudding, that one there I went over with durabond 45 and mesh tape then finish coat

      I have that same exact thing. Does something like that travel and damage the structure of the building or wall? Or does it generally stay in that area? mine is from being splashed with water
