    Don't forget that it is second rainbow jersey this year. Not only did he win Milan-Sanremo and Paris-Roubaix, he also is world champion Cycle Cross. If he wins the rainbow jersey Mountain Biking later this year, that will be really an even more exceptional achievement

    I remember him as a little toddler when his father became World Champion cyclocross in Montreuil in Paris. I was there as a young boy to support his dad. To see Matthieu winning now monuments, world championships and help his teammate Jasper Philipsen in the Tour de France is pretty amazing and exceptional. Looking forward to the winter when he is crossing again with Van Aert and Pidcock.

    Did he unclip his right shoe and try to put the foot on the ground for balance and break a fall or did the fall make the shoe unclip?

      @N0pe_G ปีที่แล้ว +8

      He unclipped before crashing, trying to save it. In the process of crashing, his BOA knob on the right shoe cracked off. That means he rode with loose and poorly strapped shoes all the way after the crash.

      Yes, I think so too. I mean, he did his work for Philipsen no doubt, but he was otherwise not doing anything spectacular, and that is not like him. I already hoped he was saving up. When he said he expected a lot of ‘ lijken in de kast” (skeletons hidden in the closet) meaning a nasty surprise (people not so fit anymore) my hopes were raised even more. A fantastic race. Beautiful surroundings too, enjoyed it!

    • @shawndev3901
      @shawndev3901 ปีที่แล้ว

      He couldn’t race the same as Pogacar tho. He’s way lighter and more of a climber. All the stages of the tour didn’t really suit a cyclist like MVDP. That’s why he was focused more on the green jersey for his team. Als he was sick during the tour.
