A safer way to get onto the tak me doon is to cycle further along the canal to the dullatur Rd Bridge. Swing a left onto the Kilsyth Rd cycle through the Colzium park and brings you third way up the tak near the quarry. A lot less traffic. Great video.
I love doing that route but I always go down the Tak🤣. I went up Croy Hill earlier this year to make a film but never thought to go to Barr Hill. Don’t fancy getting the bike over those gates but there are tracks further up in the woodland. It’s a really nice gravel loop around the Carron Reservoir I’ve done it from Stirling taking in Lewis Hill and the North Third. It’s hard to believe that all that lovely countryside is a stones throw from Glasgow. Roads look great now they have been laid, need to get myself back round there again.

You can ride through Carron Valley Resi on the left bank, it comes out at the carpark at the far side of dam....just maybe not on 25mm slicks tho .
