"You gotta love the copious amounts of tape box pictures," said Jamie. Love it! I can imagine Jamie 'Scrooge McDucking" on a pile of tape boxes in his underground vault! 😃
Thank you so much for this unboxing!!! This movie kicked started the love of Elvis Presley to a 5 year old me back in 1986. My grandma was a HUGE Elvis fan, and I remember the weekend visits and sleepovers at her house being filled with Elvis music and movies. I was all the time wanting to stay with my Mamaw so we could ha e our Elvis filled weekends. I wanted to buy this when it came out, but damn FTD makes a lot their products impossible for the average person to buy. FTD makes some AMAZING products, but they are hard to buy sometimes. Your unboxing allowed me to see these amazing books and I appreciate it so much. Thanks for keeping the love of Elvis alive!!! I'm so glad I found you TH-cam!!!
You are SO very welcome! Yeah, these are pretty expensive, and it's a shame, because the info and pictures in them are wonderful! And thank you for sharing those memories with us, too, we really appreciate that! And we're glad you found us, too!
Just received this box set from Graceland on Monday. The books are beautiful and the sound quality on the CDs is amazing. If anyone still wants this, you have to call the shop, it's in their FAQs, as it's not listed on the website. They may still have the Making of Jailhouse Rock, as well. I received that one back in March. Thanks for the great videos you guys do. From an Elvis fan since I was 3!
Always been intrigued with the sessions of this soundtrack. Elvis really getting the best out of this material. Some great songs. His voice in the early 60s is absolutely out of this world. Just got the sessions set. When can we expect part 2?? Thanks for the review of this release.
You're very welcome! Yeah, Elvis is in great form on these sessions, for sure! And Part 2 will be coming this Friday, so not too long of a wait at all!
Would love it if FTD could/would do this sort of thing with ALL of Elvis’ music. Now with the “Memphis” set out and released, it will be interesting how they will tackle the Stax sessions, either individually (Raised On Rock) or collectively. 😊
Yeah, it'll be interesting to see exactly what they do for future projects like this. I love the concept, even if I could do without edited CDs - and I'd like to see a cheaper paperback version.
Kauai... "Grand Canyon of the Pacific" 56:31 ... Sorry about that, John. I just couldn't resist the correction. My o.c.d. has been so bothersome lately. 😆😅
Hi there, absolutely fantastic thank you for all you do! Can I just say though when you have these beautiful books on that stand turning the pages it always makes me cringe a little as I think the pages could maybe get creased or worse! (Although I do know you always take good care of them) But I was wondering if it would be better for you to have a camera set up above the book your showing us which would be a lot easier for you to turn the pages and keep the book in more pristine condition, it would also be much easier when the books are laid flat…sorry I’m not really trying to be a Karen I just thought I’d suggest it to you😉 TCB ⚡️
Hi, Louise! We are super careful with the books, but what's interesting is that the last few we filmed for season 3 (they air out of order, just saying) we did exactly that, and I'm looking at perfecting that camera angle for season 4! So your instincts match up with ours pretty well (even if it took a few seasons to get there, lol) 😁

hello i have this box set i love blue hawaii
Very cool, Adrian!
thanks for your review. One question, you said (and bet) about is the blue hawaii sessions box set wouldn't be edited. Are they??
Hello! Jamie here. Sadly, I won that bet; FTD went the lazy route and just put the same discs in their standalone sessions release.

Hi have you reviewed the Elvis Blue Hawaii sessions ftd 4 cd set?
what did you think of it
I love the books and the music sounds good! But the session audio on the CDs is edited, so that was pretty disappointing.
