Everytime I see an upload for a new Knuckleheads episode I instantly say to myself "YO YO YO WE LIIIIIIIIIVE ON LOCATION" before I even click on the video 😂😂.
I love how D Miles always turns his head to talk directly to Q-Rich when a straight outta highschool player comes in. "Just in case you don't know what's going on!" Bahahah
Tyson is an integral part of the Mavs' championship year! An underrated player who does the dirty work day in and day out! Dallas city are forever grateful!
Been waiting to hear from Tyson Chandler, this is dope. This dude was that DUDE in LA back in highschool driving cadillacs and shyt hanging around Kobe and Shaq
I had this VHS tape back in the day that featured high school footage of Kobe, kG, T-Mac, and a lot of other high school phenoms. Tyson was on that tape and dude was a MONSTER been a fan ever since. Now that I’m remembering D.Miles might’ve been featured as well🔥
Excellent episode. As a Chi Bulls fan, was such a fan of his energy. He would have been so perfect for the D.Rose/Joakim Noah Era. But that's why they call them hoop dreams 😔
“Man We liiiiive on location!” Absolutely Love this show. Between these guys, all the smoke, old man and the 3, and Gilbert arenas pod, the NBA talk is in great hands. Keep up the great work guys! ✊🏽
Played against tyson when we was in the 6th grade and he sucked . Freshman year I’m hearing about this freshman sensation . I went to see him play and he was a straight up dawg ! Him and Tayshawn Prince was a problem ! That game against them and westchester was a classic
I remember playing 2k5 and pulling up to the Bulls roster and remember seeing this dude being 7'1 listed as a SF LOL but Chandler was a beast in his later yrs with NOLA, Dallas and NYK. Glad he got a chip with Dallas.
Was never a big fan of Chandler...but a quality vet and ahead of his time. big men in the league mostly have his build these days. Good to see him in an interview. Good call out with David West.
You know, I stopped watching this podcast as much as I used to because all the smoke grabbed my attention so hard. but I started off w knuckleheads and honestly it’s still a great podcast w genuine conversation about hoops. Love y’all boys mane fr !
All The Smoke is cool but Knuckleheads is for die hard basketball fans. ATS has a better look about it but a more corporate feel; Knuckleheads is raw & uncut with that locker room feel...
I enjoyed cheering on Tyson Chandler & the Dallas Mavericks in the 2011 NBA Finals against the Miami Heat. Even better that he became a member of the New York Knicks in the 2011 offseason winning NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2012. Great interview as always, keep them coming.
About time, we appreciate you for that ring TC. Greatest Center in Mavs history, was a major part of getting us that ring. Y'all need to get Dirk, I know that he'd love to do it if you just ask him. Monte Ellis too.
shoutout the pod again for bringing another one of my childhood favorites to the set!! growing up in the pre-social media era we never really got a chance to really know the players we loved watching..so it’s really dope to get to hear stories and perspectives! especially know that i’m older and understand the world a bit better
Mannnn y’all remember when this man was a cheat code on 2k, 7ft grabbing all the boards n blocking everything along with running the floor like wing/guard😂😂😂
Finally! Tyson Chandler! Next up can we get back Rasheed Wallace. Followed up by in no particular order. D. Rose, B. Roy, B. Wallace, D. Williams and Toni Kukoc.
This exchange is what fueled the lob as being a staple in basketball @22:05 ... Yes I'm aware of GP & Kemp but at that time it was unique, kind of a "that's their thing" but not something we can implement. An athletic, Rim running, Shot blocker is a position now that teams draft or trade for. Salute to Tyson Chandler 👏🏾
Imma watch every ep of KHP but gotta run it back a few times when the Knicks up here. That Knickstape era had NYC on tilt you couldn't tell us anything and we knew we could beat Miami in the ECF because we beat them 3-1 during the season.. if tyson wasn't sick the series versus the pacers we would've gotten there
Great interview Q and D I thought Tyson was from Compton to. I played against him in high school in summer basketball league war on the floor at Canoga park high school. There were newspapers articles about him, all over the gym. I was shocked I had to guard PG Prince 6 feet 10
The out of high school running joke is hilarious even when you know it’s coming it’s still funny. This was a good convo. Podcasts are my favorite invention ever especially now that we have podcasts from superstars and even role players it’s great to hear different perspectives basketball is a very psychological game and to be as big and athletic as these guys to train their minds to move like ballerinas and jump like Olympic jumpers then also the skill they train their brain to throw a ball from far away into a ring with a bunch of giants trying to stop you and then how they work together basketball is a true team game. There are iso heavy teams but now with so much talent I don’t think you can win a title if it’s a take turns iso offense. And even on iso teams the role players matter a lot more than they usually get credit for.
I was at the MLK shootout that he was talking about! That year had Dominguez with tashaun prince, jason thomas and kenney bruner, crossroads with baron davis, harvard Westlake with jarrod and jason Collins, faifax had one of the ship brothers (i think it was Josh) and crenshaw had a good team... That year was great for hoop fans
he wasn’t a bad player, he was a tweener. not having an actual position was considered a detriment in the 2000’s. if he was drafted in 2015, he probably pans out well.
Shout out to the Clippers ‘00- we grew up Underdoggs lookin up to y’all fellas 🤝🏽💯 had to respect Kobe an Shaq but yea, y’all was part of the neighborhood
Tyson can’t tell this story. So I’ll do it for him. One time, him and Felton had the pick and roll humming. Layup. Dunk. Jump shot. It was probably 5-6 times in a row. After each time, you could see Melo ask Felton for the ball. Felton is like ‘hold on for a minute’. Melo was getting more frantic after each successful play. Eventually he said fluck it and went and stood in the middle of the pick and roll until they just ended up with a bad shot. It messed up the whole mojo.I can’t remember what happened after that. I think they lost because of that
Hey cuz love you man Hate I moved from dallas, but keep up the positivity fam, I know everything that happened. And tell uncle Freddie Steve said hey agin
Before he even said who bust his ass I knew it was going to be Rasheed Wallace. He's exactly the kind of guy who was confusing traditional vet centres, let alone rookie centres out of high school lol
