  • In this parametric design video, we will have a review of the EKKO installation structure. First, we will take a look at the project and how it's made and then we will remodel it in Rhino Grasshopper.

For the sections , you could try contours, and save a lot of time!

Nice tutorial! Wouldn't it be better though to work exclusively in GH and set a circle as base curve, subdivide it in equal lengths, assign a rectangular frame in each division point and then rotate gradually the frames and produce a lofted surface so as to achieve a Möbius band with smoother curved transitions or simply follow the same steps you did but use a box whose height is equal to the length of the circle you use for the flow path so that your twisted box gets to be distributed more uniformly around the curve without using the stretch option. Just an opinion, your channel rocks! ;)

      Thanx

yes, it's possible and I usually model everything in grasshopper in my tutorials but in the parametric design series, I usually combine rhino and grasshopper to make it easy for beginners!
There is also another way of modeling this which I explained in the course.

    Thank you for this course!
Can we control « the intensity and the projection place of the twist mouvment » on the circle ? If so, is it possible to do that completly in grasshopper?

Yes you can control it by graph mapper or simply by changing the location of the twist axis. Check out the graph mapper tutorial for more info.
