  • This is the first video in the "Parametric Architecture & Design" series.
In this Parametric Architecture & Design video, we will have a quick review of the Arboskin Project. First, we will talk about how the project has been made and look at some details. Then we will talk about a simple Grasshopper algorithm and how you can model the pyramid and slice it with a rotating plane.

It will be more amazing if you combine it with BIM, using ArchiCAD and Grasshopper live connection.

I don't have any experience with ArchiCad but I will try to also talk about BIM and computational design in the future!

SUGGESTION: Excellent series looking forward to these. As someone learning Grasshopper, I could realy use 2 things. I'd like to see how the Parametric design is used in the realworld. Most tutorials show cool descriptions but nothing you'd use in real building. Second, I can follow the design process in GH, but if you'd give more REASONs why you are using a node. Example, I'd like to know when its better to start with a point, or a plane, etc, and then build off that. Like making a vase. You could start from a circle and extrude up, or maybe a profile that you revolve. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback FilmFactry🙏 we are adding thesis and articles to our website so I guess you can see how grasshopper is advancing research in architecture and design.
But seeing how grasshopper can empower real design is what you mean and I agree with that. Two years ago I completely used Grasshopper to design a mobile case and a series of wedding rings! Anyway I will try to research and add the technical stuff to the future videos.

loved the video, keep em coming.
No one on youtube is explaining how you can make it on grasshopper and digitally fabricate with such detail.

Hello, I will make a model of the "Arboskin Pavilion" as part of the structural design course. I need the dimensions of the design. Can you share the model?

Thank you for sharing your talk, very clear and interesting. Would love to hear more about how parametric design and digital fabrication is offering advantages for a client, or the environment, or society at large compared to conventional forms of design and construction. Can’t wait to hear more!
