I love Carlisle, it’s my favorite fragrance, I bought Red Tobacco and they do smell very similar, but Carlisle smells a lot smoother in my opinion, I don’t like the opening to Red Tobacco, but the dry down is really good, great video bro, u and Gent scents are my go to guys when I want to find out about a fragrance, your reviews on fragrances is the deciding factor of if I should get a fragrance or not
Patchouli can have a cooling menthol effect and I strongly believe that’s how Parfums de Marly process it and shows the quality of ingredients they use.
I just bought The PDM CARLISLE today. It wasn't my first thought or my first choice. I was going for The Layton and to my surprise, it wasn't what I thought it would be on my skin. However that CARLISLE IS THE TRUTH!!! Totally Surprised me and my senses. I didn't even mind the cost; a Great Buy!!!

Glad you got to try this, always interesting and informative to hear your take. I have been in two minds about this one. When I first tried it, I didn't dislike it, but I was immediately reminded of Tom Fords Oud Wood, which I think is just ok, maybe it was the creamy, warm spicy tones, and perhaps I'm just not accustomed to fragrances like this. As it tried down though, I thought "damn, this smells special", that rose makes it. I can smell some of that sweet Herod DNA too, and some remnants of Layton perhaps. I tried Red Tobacco too, which I like (although the opening is madness) I can see the similarities, but Carlisle is smoother.

Carlise have a very harsh opening if you ask me. It’s so harsh I can’t really grasp any of the opening notes. But afterward!!! OMG ITS THE BEST FROM THE PDM house I’ve smelled!
I have 6 pdms and they are definitely worth the money. If you can afford it at all, and want high end cologne, this is what you get. Carlisle herod and layton are my fav, but many more good ones
I'm wearing Mancera Red Tobacco right now - smells so damn good. Can't wait for my decant of Carlisle to arrive. I only own Herod atm, which took me a minute to warm up to, but I love it now. Excited to try more from PDM.

They're entirely different scents. Layton is probably more mass appealing and easier to wear more of the year. Carlisle is a very solid late fall/winter scent.
Carlisle has a tobacco note (even if not listed I think) which makes it a heavier wintery scent however it’s not too dense For date Layton is safer, Carlisle is slightly more bold
Okay so I bought Carlisle off of PerfumesAmerica for $215 and it just does not smell good to me. The bottle and packaging seems to be 100% real cause i compared it to layton exclusif and it has the heavy cap and everything but the smell just isn’t there.... i dont know if it’s just me or if I bought a fake? Someone please let me know! Doesn’t perform create either, if I have layton or Godolphin on one wrist and Carlisle on the other, they definitely out perform Carlisle in everywhere (projection, longevity etc.) But I bought it in new in the packaged too (which seemed spot on as well when compared to other PDM)

I own Carlisle and i can smell it on me all day and ive had people in controlled environments smell me from 30-50ft away and compliment me. So id say its beast mode and fragrances never seem to perform on my skin. Hope this helps. I hear Layton is weak and layton exclusif is beast mode not sure how true this is.
30-50 feet?? How many sprays you spraying, 10? What Batch Code so you have? I had a bottle from a batch from December in 2020 but the cap broke so I sent it back and instead got a Feb 2021 batch with different atomizer and if I'm not mistaken I get worse performance from the Feb 2021 one
Honestly, I bought the samplers for Layton, Herod, Carlisle, Greenley, Sedley and Percival, I was honestly disappointed in a lot of them tbh:/ at least on the paper, I wore Greenley today and it was really good but doesn’t really project, I have to try the rest on skin but I’ll see if my opinion changes:(

My first buy from PDM was Carlisle, since then I have Layton, Layton Exclusif, Herod, and some other samples. You can't go wrong with buying Carlisle or Layton. Carlisle is godly, Layton is super model hot. Warning though, if you get Carlisle, only spray twice to start with, its godly strong...
I prefer Layton. It's an amazing unique smell and I think is more versatile than Carlisle. Carlisle is great, but I felt it was more dark, mysterious and certainly more suited to winter. I also loved the dry-down. However, I think Layton can be used in most seasons and it's definitely one of my favourites, a fight between my Creed Aventus & Layton. I also love my JV Dark Rebel, and Dior Homme Parfum, but again both also more suited to winter (& decent enough dress code). ❤Layton❤

I went back and forth for over a year about buying it, but once I got a hold of a decant of it I knew I had to order a full bottle. After I decided to purchase Carlisle, I had to wait for 5 months for it to come back in stock.
Parfums de Marly has REFORMULATED Carlisle. I own an older formulation which has an alcohol concentration of 77%. The new formulation I see in stores has 81% alcohol. My formulation is a dark ORANGE / AMBER color. The new formulation is a very light, faint copper color. The new formulation does not last as long and it smells different. Parfums de Marly fragrances are ALWAYS much weaker than their ORIGINAL releases. Parfums de Marly HAS NOT been transparent when it comes to the reformulation of their fragrances. Herod, Layton & Oajan have also been reformulated and have 3%-4% more alcohol in newer batches.
I just got the discovery set, and so far this one is not impressing me at all. It smells like an old uncle. If you're a fan of the fresh fragrances, you might not like this one.

Sweet, creamy and slightly fresh marshmallow vibes is what I get from Carlise. It's very well balanced and definitely a solid fragrance.
I bought 2 bottles when it 1st came out. The perfume is beast. The dry down is out of this world
