Jesus, that teacher was so unbelievably cruel. I had a similar experience which caused me to give up art for about 8 years, except it was school 'friends' who ripped them up, ridiculed, and scribbed over them, not the teacher! I think the authority aspect would've made it even more damaging for me. I'm glad you've managed to overcome it, your art is wonderful and what matters is it brings you joy. That's what helped me; reclaiming the joy it gives me.
Thank you for such a heartfelt response and sharing your story. People can be incredibly cruel of all ages. I'm glad to hear you were able to reclaim your joy too. 💜
Firstly, this painting is amazing! My daughter has just had a bad experience of an art teacher. A different type - dismissive and uncaring. She did the eurgh sounds too. I think it’s going to take a while to get over how bad it was. But we won’t let her give up! ❤ Sorry you went through such a toxic experience. She sounds very strange.
I'm sorry your daughter went through that. Having supportive people around can massively help in rebuilding creative joy and confidence. I wish her the best in overcoming the experience ❤️
Thank you for listening to it 💜 I was unsure what to pair with the process footage of the cheetah after I painted it, and it felt right to finally talk about this
Sorry to hear Daena that this happened 😢 i never went to art school or lessons but I can understand how this messes up your thoughts about drawing. It's good of you that you overcame it! You can draw such amazing pieces of all kinds of things. I'm glad you are still drawing and having fun with it despite what happened. Keep going, you are inspiring me to draw more and post more stuff on the social media sites. Even tho I'm afraid what other people will say, it's positive so far and I probably wouldn't have posted everything i post today without seeing you post often. Thanks for being an inspiration :)
That's so kind of you to say, thank you so much 💜 I wish you a happy time drawing! Most of the time people are lovely, but if anyone ever isn't nice try to focus on how art makes you happy and all the support that you do have
That is straight up abuse and property damage. Complaining about it to faculty is not enough. She should have been fired and had minor charges against her. That is just evil. Beautiful art, by the way. Sorry for my Jamie's being rustled. Lol I'm so glad you are still making art.
I loved my art teacher but I won't deny that she was the reason I was steered so sharply away from fantasy drawings and why I developed a massive reliance on references. It doesn't take much to influence young adults
omg, that sounds like your teacher was super abusive. I'm so sorry you had that experience. I thought my teacher was bad but yours was just cruel. Your art is so beautiful and I'm glad you kept being creative.

Lol thank you! It took some time but reclaiming the joy of creating has been worth it.

Thank you for listening. I'm grateful I've been able to find such lovely and supportive communities within art. It helps so much 💜
@@daenafae You are wonderful and you deserve all the good! Luckily the art community is very kind and supportive.
What a toxic teacher
Thankfully there are plenty of constructive people to find and learn from online now!
