Legends never die but everyone's gotta rest. As long as he is talked about he will never truly die as long as he is remembered he will never die. Love you brother. We all suffered a terrible loss with this one.
Just really found out who John was in the past month or so. I see how highly you and the whole fitness community speak of him. If I learned anything from this video it's to be strong, kind, and caring.
I'm sad I only recently discovered John within the last year. His knowledge on lifting was priceless and he seemed like such a kind and passionate man. I really wish I could have met him before he passed. RIP Mountain Dog ❤ 💪
I am in shock….I have been doing a social media detox so I am just finding out that he passed.Such a knowledgeable, kind, and humble human. He was a valuable asset to the bodybuilding world and humanity in general. He will not be forgotten his impact on athletes will be everlasting.Thank you for this lovely tribute❤️
I’m gutted. This is the first I’ve heard of John passing, the man was a legend and all my love to hie wife , kids and friends. Love from the U.K🇬🇧🏴
John was a good guy. After he passed I cried because I have looked up to him as a virtual coach for like 5 or 6 years; a genuine, humble, passionate, knowledgeable bodybuilder with humbling characteristics, amazing genetics and a well known personality, he taught me good form for all exercises, exercise selection, high intensity techniques etc. I’m very 😭 that he is gone but we as a community still have his videos to look back on and cherish for long term health because to me, John is the face of bodybuilding; so passionate about what he was doing, about his lifestyle and how nice he was. JOHN MEADOWS will be DEARLY. . . DEARLY. . . DEARLY missed, condolences to his family. rip to a LEGEND in/to the industry 😢😣
John was freaking the epitome of genuine awesomeness my bf and I met him and he and him chatted it up for a good hour and was very chill and so personable and was juiced to see that my bf did things the old way with hybrid power lifts up to 400 without a belt . Thanks for this vid it pays homage to the myth and legend of the mountain dog stay up and blessed everybody 💖
We were all lucky that he came out to teach us. Hopefully his spirit flows through the weightlifting community forever. We all should strive to be more like him in the gym. Be kind - not overbearing.
I can't stop saying the same thing, but during the lockdown, John Meadows' videos were not only the best option, buy my favorite choice to get routines , his parting of this life, has left a big whole. Every week I was looking for his latest routines. THANKS Coach Joe for sharimg this.
It's taken me a few days to watch this, his passing affected me a lot more than I expected. As I've gotten more into bodybuilding the past few years, he was my primary source of knowledge and inspiration. So much of how I structure my training has been learned and borrowed from his methods. I'm glad you were able to meet him, I always had wished I'd have a chance someday. Hope you're doing well.
John was a great human...a rare class A 1%er...I’ve met only a few in my lifetime and when in the presence of one it’s powerful and undeniable...I will miss him
Great tribute, Coach Joe! We’re all lifted up by the shoulders of giants. It’s clear he helped lift you. You’re also that for many people. You could see in your work with him, that he saw and admired that in you as well - I couldn’t see him working with anyone he couldn’t greatly respect. May his spirit and legacy always shine a light for you when things darken, and may you always have the strength to lift others when they are in a state of weakness. You’re great, man! Thanks for all you do.
John always seemed so genuinely kind, caring and friendly. It says a lot about the kind of person he was when a whole industry is rocked by his passing. Usually there are a few people that don't care or say things they probably shouldn't and with John everyone has nothing but good to say.
I’m running the Unity program by John Meadows and Dave Tate right now. John has had a huge impact on my life in so many different ways, just like millions of others.
Very well said!!! Been following John for years (Along with Jeff from Athlene X) and I was beyond stunned to hear about his passing. I just watched his live stream 2 days prior!!! Such a crushing blow!!! On another note, I just found your channel from jujimufu and I really love it so keep up the great work. And I'm a 54 year old man!!! LOLOL
I am so heartbroken by this news. I’m sure he’s smiling down on all of us. I’ve been doing meadows rows every chance I get. And i hope everyone keeps his legacy alive. Best of wishes to his family, and to you of course.
Ive watched everything he’s put out at least 5 times or more …… Ive spent hrs in my shitty basement hlf ass gym watching and learning from that man…. This is so terrible and i wish nothing but the best for his family and friends…….. THANK YOU JOHN MEADOWS YOUVE HELPED ME CHANGE MY LIFE FOREVER, and I’m sure many others to…….. GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN!!!! REST IN IRON PARIDISE MY FRIEND
I've followed John for years now and he's totally changed the way I look at the gym. I used to think a good workout plan just meant it included all the right excercises at the right volumes. But he always saw a workout as a journey. I love his style and now a days I incorporate it as much as possible. I remember asking him questions in his live streams and when he answered one he'd really engage with you. He didn't ever rush, he just really wanted to spread his knowledge as honestly and thoroughly as he could. Truly a mentor to his core. Of course, as much as I respect him as a coach, I respect him even more as a human being. He was, by all accounts, a truly great man. RIP John Meadows.
I’ve just started my journey in weights I found out about you and John through juji I loved all your content with John thankfully we still have his videos. Such a great guy may he rip
Kinda crazy that all the fitness channel that I follow have the same consistent message about him. Amazing guy, will be missed, and hope part of him stays in us no matter how big or small.
Thanks. I've been loving these tributes to an awesome man. I was one of the first to subscribe to Mountain Dog after seeing him on one of Jeff Nippards vids. Tbh I hope Juji makes one too but I realize he may need some time before he's able to give a proper tribute to John. god bless
The only thing we have left of someone like John is having enjoyed the great moments and having learned great things from someone like him. Joey, would be proud of you.💯💪🏼
We are only viewers of videos but after a certain length of time even we are all family. We appreciate your time, your dedication to making videos, your knowledge, leadership, positivity, and friendship.
People are lucky to have you as a friend. You’re a real good guy with a big heart. My heart goes out to you, all his friends, and most importantly his family.
I literally had to stop and double-take when I heard he had passed because I had seen him post a video two days prior. I was like, "There's no way." Deeply saddened.
John Meadows was one of the first bodybuilders I ever knew of, back when I was just a young teenager who liked to pick up heavy shit and put it back down. He was a fantastic role model and class act. My thoughts are with his wife, sons, and everyone who knew this sterling example of a man. RIP John Meadows.
Thanks, Joey! I literally watched his last live q&a while wrapping up my too short gym visit that Friday by doing some supplement exercises at home. The news hit me early on Monday morning and was the first thing I saw as I was getting up for work. Hit real hard. It was almost unbelievable and unreal. Stunted me for the whole day. I try to keep the best of what I picked up from John with me and follow his example. If I had to choose any one person out of all my favourite gym guys, I would have to go with John, in particular for his knowledge, kindness, genuinity and grit. (But I think you, Brian and Alan hold your own pretty well!)
I think we all could take a page from John and try to become as great a man, as John was. I feel like the more I hear about John, the sadder I get because I will never be able to feel his spirit in person.
Appreciate this video. He was a great leader in the industry and will be missed by so many. When I was going through my weight loss journey he dropped a few likes on my progress pictures. To most maybe that wasn’t something that important but I was a huge fan and it meant a lot to me. Still does. He won’t be forgotten that’s for sure.
I followed John for couple years now, he answered to my comments multiple times and we would chat on the live. I really wish i had met him, the impact he had the community is huge to the point me in another country with another language was and will still be talking about him.

A legend who was kind and channeled his great personality through his the energy in his videos. Fitness industry has lost a true legend but also a true angel.
Very sad loss, learned a lot through his videos and appearances in other people’s videos. Such a nice guy, someone who really deserved to live forever and he will through all of us in our gym sessions ❤️
One thing that really made me mad for his friends, were the people that instantly used his name to make a quick buck. Tasteless. You could tell who was genuinely hurt, and who was chasing the algorithm Keep your head up bro
I don't believe you're a nobody when it comes to being upset over his passing. I just knew him as a TH-cam viewer and it hurt my heart so much to hear of his passing. Same thing here. I didn't know who he was a year ago, then started seeing him in everything I watched and then tragedy struck. RIP John Meadows.
Same here, echo the comments. Learned some great tips from him, everyone respected him.
