I visited NZ from USA 30 years ago and visited Dunedin, Queenstown and Clyde. The jet boat is the one thing I enjoyed the most. I do understand why you chose to live there. I fell in love with NZ while there and hated to leave to come home. but I missed my kiddos.
My husband is a kiwi dual American citizen. We visited Queenstown in 2011 and before COVID would travel to Wellington, Auckland and both islands to be with family every other year. We went to a wedding in Rarotonga 3 years ago. New Zealand is a beautiful country and the people are wonderful. Queenstown has changed a lot since we were there. We want to visit again as soon as the quarantine is lifted. Thank you for your video. It makes us wish we were there.
There is a ton of great things to do in Queenstown but it's important to remember that Queenstown and surrounds is a staggeringly beautiful area. I loved it just for its sheer beauty. All the activities are just the icing on the top.
Now is a good time to go to Queenstown as it is not overrun with overseas tourists. It's not that they are bad but there are just so many and this has a detrimental affect on the prices of everything. I spent a week camped at the airport with my airforce flying course in 1970 and flew all around the mountains in the lower half of the South Island. A magical place with many good memories and one not so good that I'll explain elsewhere.
Hey Tara, as you know NZ has such a small landmass yet it is ranked at the top for land diversity, with everything from bush, fiords, glasiers, golden sand beaches with snow-capped mountains as a backdrop how many countries can say that, it even has a dissert, thankyou for sharing and showcasing nz love your content😎❤️🇳🇿👍✌️
My wife, baby and i are on our way down now. This is my first time in QT so looking forward to it. I'm a skydiver so have booked 90mins of flying at iFly so can't wait! Great vids
my family all come from this central Otago region. Over 200 years. The hotel on the waterfront was where my grandparents stayed on their honeymoon (was called Eichardt Hotel). Although I live in the US, this area always travels with me :-)
Very true you cant do everything in 1 week. The floating bar is also a great spot . You can take your own food on and buy a drink from the bar . And devil burger I recommend next time you come to my town
Would be awesome if you could've also add the Mt. Nicholas cruise+farm tour. Goes through the lake. They take you around massive private farm and mountains. That's something people can also check out. When I traveled in 2019 September it was awesome to witness 🐑 sheep shearing moments and the guided tour takes around the whole farm and ends up with the lovely kiwi snack. It was available thru Southern discoveries.
Hello Tara, is Fergburger really good? When I was in Queenstown first week of January 2020, I was walking in the main Queenstown CBD when I seen the long queue for that Burger shop and it was only like 11am. I wanted to try that Fergburger but every time I go there its always full of people.
You're like magic. You saw heaps with your eyes squeezed shut on the boat? Lucky they were wide open at an ice bar. Need eyes for low hanging stalactites and what not. Might need to eat those. Yoga and flying sounds cool. Sobering 😇 Oh yes wine tasting on bikes. Onsen afterward. Perfect. Wonderful share. Thank you.
Hope to get the NZ in 2023-2023 once I have the money saved & Covid is more under control. Great to have tips for a different place to see. Is your friend Chrissy planning ye or has she been to NZ already?
Haven't been to Queenstown for well over 6 years, I haven't been to Wanaka since 2009, I live in Invercargill and yet I only just heard Wanaka and Albert Town are being developed into a major international film industry meaning it will be a big city pretty much
Wanaka is beautiful, one of the most beautiful town in NZ that I've been. I was there last year before COVID-19 hit, I was there 2nd week of January '20. Wanaka is beautiful but very expensive to buy groceries (foods, alcohol or sweets) in the shop.
It's called New Zealand which is it's original name - ROTFL - don't let your white liberal guilt force you into using a name created 250 years later by a colonial governor :p
@@deankumeroa1515 No, Waipounamu was Ngai Tahu's name for the South Island before Ngati Toa ate most of them (and then in turn Waikato ate those Ngati Toa left behind around Egmont) :o Te Ika au Maui is "Maui's fish" referring to the North Island. Back to the kura with you :p
Oh man that sensory maze looked *cough* amazing 🤗😂 This was less my kind of video, it just felt like a bunch of advertisements... but thank you for uploading nonetheless! And there were a couple of interesting businesses highlighted for if I ever visit 😌
@@Kobe24NZ I never said not to do so - in fact I thanked Tara for posting! 🙄 My opinion is that I didn’t enjoy it as much as the many others I’ve watched. I suspect feedback from both camps is appreciated. It’s good information. I wouldn’t continue watching if there were lots of videos like this, that’s constructive feedback. It’s up to Tara whether she wants to act on it.
I definitely appreciate your feedback! I decided to make this less about me snd more about the story of these businesses.. without making it too long :)

OMG!!! You literally stayed across the road from where I live. I'm so glad you enjoyed your time here in Queenstown
Really???? Where you across from the "stay of queenstown?"
Yusss!!! Across the road in the Pounamu apartments the big apartments with all the big glass windows!!
Fergburger was alright (went once)when I went in 2018 for 4 days, but I must say Ferg Gelato next door was my spot. I went every damn day.
Oh really? I have not had that. I do like their bakery and pies.
We’ve been to Queenstown so many times but wow thanks for introducing new stuff to do
I know right.. it is a hard place to nail down. So many options
My toes are tickling and screaming: I wanna go so badly right now! Take me there!!
You scared me a little bit with the things you did. But I feel braver about trying to roller skate now 😁
