@Zayd Mohammad Merc is the best in tech, just look at the features. Merc is the best in performance see GT3 and the Nurburgring Lap Times of GTR. But, Merc has suffered a little bit of luxury. Also build quality wise they are still face to face with other brands. There is no better or worse, as each german car manufacturer has some issues with the functionality of certain things. I drive a C 300 (and a Mustang xD) , my dad a 530 d Touring and my Mom a VW Golf 1.4. If you took the build quality of these cars together, it would be perfect, as all cars have different types of problems.
You nailed this one! The current model as you often say looks like "melted cheese" and just sort of smushes altogether. This sharpens and defines the rear end. Well done
Sjukt bra jobbat!
W124 is my dream car. Had one for 12 years, 300TDI but the E50/60 is what I'm seeking. Thank you for redesigning my dream car into the new generation. Hands down 🙏🏻🙌🏻😄
I love W124 so much...I even called the girl I loved “W124”... you did a great job but one thing bothers me and that’s that your design reminds me of Audi
I like this design, very strong "German" lines unlike the current soft "Korean" curvy look. Anyone who thinks this resembles an E39 does not get what they are talking about.
That would be nice. Modern hybrid - coupe. Maybe with covered wheels too :) I also think that this would fit to the style of TSM. Maybe redesign of Insight and CR-Z in one?
I have always loved the W212 facelift model - launched in 2013 as a 2014 model - I think that was the last E-Class which was still very distinctly an E-Class. That rear was gorgeous especially the tail lights - I still think that car looks more modern and more beautiful than the current car except for the interior of course. Even the estate version of that car was great! Had all the strong lines @sketchmonkey references.
I agree with your thoughts on the W124 design - such a handsome saloon. Bruno Sacco was a design genius. I have a 1990 W124 and it’s a fabulous machine.
The line you’re discussing about at 5:35 was meant to fade away before the rear door and that’s how it was in their previous design years (2016-2019). But, again it’s missing line flow as in this design it should connect/continue towards rear light.
C'est dingue comme tout semble être évident quand tu travaille sur tes voitures ! Merci de redonner une vrai identité stylistique à nos autos d'aujourd'hui.. Tellement 'Kia'😅🙏🇫🇷
I agree, the taillights look like they lifted them off of a second generation Kia Forte. I am disappointed in the direction that Mercedes has taken their designs across the board.
The rear end redesign looks good. It finally create some unique design, despite slightly looks like audi rear end. I would also love to see the front end redesign.
Mercedes W124 was looked mafia cars of that time. The design was beast . And I personally liked the boxy design and squared lights. I can’t wait to see this comeback. 👍🏼
I agree with you about bringing simple back. SUVs are too curvy and not boxy anymore (probably more for aero) but I feel like the best designs of the 80s and 90s were more squared off.
Many people complain about the rear of the 2021 E Class, but they keep forgetting that W110, W111, W112, W113, W100, W108, W114, W115, W116, R/C 107, W123, W126, W201 and R129 also had horizontal rear lights and no one complained. The front is unimpressive, I agree about that.
Love the redesign, it hits the brief to be more “German”...it definitely now has a touch of Audi, BMW and Skoda (I know they’re not German) from different eras - just goes to show how correct this redesign is!
Another suggestion: Can you do by any chance a series where you design from scratch a car by a particular brand for the next generation. For example the next 5 series or the next C class as if you were employed as their designer.
I love your redesign work..there is one very iconic toyota..the Landcruiser 70 series. its had basically the sane shape since early 80’s I believe . I don’t know if you would consider doing a sketch of this car.
Those lights are very reminiscent of a BMW E39. Just like a more modern, sportier, aggressive version.
If the trunk opening were to hug them at the top it would be a fine looking e39 revision
With the silver bar across it almost looks similar to a mid 2000 BMW 7 Series
They do remember me of the Citroën ZX as well. Nevertheless: Impressive make-over, I do like it.
I think that too. In the last Minute the desgn changed a bit. But till then, they remembered me very strong to that 5 series BMW.
At least I'm not the only one, who'd thought about the 39 😅
I think it looks more like 90s Audi than a Merc.
I was thinking the same thing😂
Indeed B5 A4 to be precise
Or a 5 series 90s bmw
@@bagos1997 You're spot-on.......the BMW e-39 5-series or some Audi.
@@keloduma my parents have one and i thought the Same ^^ the rear Lights combined with the "Spoiler"
At first it started to look like an old Audi a6 then it started to look like an e39. Love the stronger look.
Absolutely yeah hhhh
Exactly my thoughts
A skoda Octavia too
99 honda accord
yeeessss
Back when "The best or nothing" really meant something
lol still means the same today, just that other car manufacturers come closer
@Zayd Mohammad Merc is the best in tech, just look at the features.
Merc is the best in performance see GT3 and the Nurburgring Lap Times of GTR.

Zayd Mohammad definitely not the best in infotainment
Chto ty deyalesh Audi is best in tech wtf have you seen A8s tech?
Gaara true infotainment is best of only bmw
So you've just made E39?
still an improvement
Or an Audi B5 S4
He basically made the 2014 Mercedes E63 but uglier
The rear looks like a mishmash of 90’s BMW, contemporary Škoda’s and a early2000’s Audi. This is no Mercedes in any way.
He’s a graphic artist not a designer.
This is exactly what I love about TheSketchMonkey. Brilliant point-and-tell analysis, and then an entertaining redesign.
Probably that was not intended but now it is more like E39 AMG instead of E63 :)
It’s cuz the tail light... he should have used the 2018 E Class AMG taillights..
Looked like a Skoda for a while
agree with that, skoda/audi around 2010
Just what I was thinking
Still does.
Uh, so close!!! Please modernize the Mercedes W140.
Wow ... took my breath away, fantastic redesign, it’s good to see this type of definition again can’t wait for the front end.
Huge Mercedes-Benz fan here, and let me say, that if they built that car, they couldn’t take my money fast enough! Well done sir, well done!!
You nailed this one! The current model as you often say looks like "melted cheese" and just sort of smushes altogether. This sharpens and defines the rear end. Well done
It’s always enjoyable to see a master doing his thing. You’re an artist my good man. Legit
The new outro music timings with the before and after comparison literally gives me chills.
Also great redesign as always 👍

Boxy is beautiful, please redesign the vw Corrado!
Challenge: redesign something other than a car to see how it goes.
He did. He redesigned a Yacht!
@@toniweak thanks. I'll look for it.
Georgeus! And u know of me that i'm not allways in the same mood than ur style. But today u make me want a new retro era in Mercedes. Really good!
You said “Solid” a billion times and that is why the W124 was so amazing, everything made sense. Probably one of my favorite cars of all times.
W124 is my dream car. Had one for 12 years, 300TDI but the E50/60 is what I'm seeking. Thank you for redesigning my dream car into the new generation. Hands down 🙏🏻🙌🏻😄
Goddamn. I think this is my favourite design you've made. We need more 2020 cars like this! Bring back boxiness!
Looks great! And it's probably why I love the rear 3/4 look of the e39 M5 still as it's very similar to this redesign
Redesigns getting Stronger Day by Day! Loved This!!
This redesign is amazing!
I don't want any "coupe like" sedens i want a boxy solid car
i have a 300ce coupe and boxy😁
I love W124 so much...I even called the girl I loved “W124”...
you did a great job but one thing bothers me and that’s that your design reminds me of Audi
Masoud Hosseini yeah like a mid-2000s A6 sedan
I got 5 w124s
Super nice! I love W124, and Yours concept brings back this boxy spirit.
Tack så mycket för att du görar dessa typer av videor. Jag är 13 och min dröm är att bli bildesigner, och du inspirerar mig ännu mer! Tack❤️
This is spectacular. Looks so much more elegant. This is by far my favourite. Loved it.
What a massive improvement.. great work mate.
I like this design, very strong "German" lines unlike the current soft "Korean" curvy look. Anyone who thinks this resembles an E39 does not get what they are talking about.
Please redesign the rear end of a gen 1 Honda Insight.
That would be nice. Modern hybrid - coupe. Maybe with covered wheels too :) I also think that this would fit to the style of TSM. Maybe redesign of Insight and CR-Z in one?
As a W124 owner, love to see this!!! More please!
I'm lovin this look Bembli!! I hope you gotta front view coming, yes? YES??? PLEASE?????
So much fun watching Sketch Monkey!
More like Sketch Funky! 😃
You really are an amazing graphic artist👍 it looks so much better than the current c-class.
I really apreciate your style! Great job!

100% agree on you. In your design the tail lights are a bit BMWish but the rear trunk V shape opening brings it back that Mercedes vibe.
you made it so much better.. beautiful job.
Love your vids. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
Great representation of the original boxy, solid style!
He never disappoints!
I love how this looks like a variety of old BMW and Audi vehicles haha. The rear end is very reminiscent of the E39, and mid-200 A6 and A8s
This is definetly one of your best redesigns.
I agree with your thoughts on the W124 design - such a handsome saloon. Bruno Sacco was a design genius. I have a 1990 W124 and it’s a fabulous machine.
Hmmm idk I feel like you missed the mark on this one. It kind of looks like a mix between an old mustang, an old Audi and a skoda
Looks amazing bro!
One of your best videos.
Friend of mine, had a coupe and a sedan, he loved them both so i did. What a beautiful car
The line you’re discussing about at 5:35 was meant to fade away before the rear door and that’s how it was in their previous design years (2016-2019). But, again it’s missing line flow as in this design it should connect/continue towards rear light.
i like this new series of designing old cars and incorporating them into newer cars
Wow you are an amazing graphic artist
I would pay for a car like this! Love your designs!
Love your work.
Please do the '87 Ford Sierra RS500. Would love to see how you would re-imagine this legendary car.
Nice work, looks really cool
So you made a Mercedes look like the Audi A6 C5/4B :D
E39 ? )))))
Man... This is an unforgettable car I ever owned! If I can find another one in a good shape, I would definitely own it again!
Awesome, what you are doing with Photoshop...!! The Merc strongly reminds me to a Audi/Skoda/BMW now... But you did a great job with the VOLVOS...!!
Please please please make a sideview-redo on this car, i whould love to see a modern w124!
NEXT: Redesign the face of Scarlett Johansson! :D
C'est dingue comme tout semble être évident quand tu travaille sur tes voitures ! Merci de redonner une vrai identité stylistique à nos autos d'aujourd'hui.. Tellement 'Kia'😅🙏🇫🇷
Those lights have a audi like and a scoda like design
I agree, the taillights look like they lifted them off of a second generation Kia Forte. I am disappointed in the direction that Mercedes has taken their designs across the board.
I wish Mercedes would hire you 😭😭 the side of your design looks like a 212 without the fender flares and the rear reminds me of the Pontiac G8
I feel like the Mercedes E-Class peaked with the W212-r facelift 💯 that one had well defined lines 🔥
The w124 and w212 are the best looking E classes to this date
looks soo better! please redesign whole car in upcoming video!
The rear end redesign looks good. It finally create some unique design, despite slightly looks like audi rear end.
I would also love to see the front end redesign.
This reminds me to a BMW in a way, but really nice man :)
It'll be nice to see a proper updated version of BMW E39 and keeping the original BMW tradition. Thank you!
Mercedes W124 was looked mafia cars of that time. The design was beast . And I personally liked the boxy design and squared lights. I can’t wait to see this comeback. 👍🏼
1991 Mercedes Benz is one of my favorite old-school Mercedes. Very beautiful.
yeah totally agree, back then, my Macintosh had blue E400's rear end as wallpaper when everyone had Countach/Testarossa
You have very good taste @TheSketchMonkey
Nice! I really like it. Are you going to make the front view?
The new e63s looks better than all cars in the world
The W212 E Class looks strong. But the W211 was very flowing in design and still looks gorgeous.
Cool Idea! I hope Bruno Sacco will see that Video one day. It would be great to see a correction to the front too.
Thank you sketch monkey you just turn a Mercedes into a "Saudi" AKA Saab/Audi mix 😂 love this channel though 💯✌
Beautiful, Im waiting and hopping you finally decide to make the Peugeot 206 cc and XR redesign...
I agree with you about bringing simple back. SUVs are too curvy and not boxy anymore (probably more for aero) but I feel like the best designs of the 80s and 90s were more squared off.
Good job looks a lot more robust and simple
WHEN HE COMPARED TO GRILLS TO SCARLETT JOHANSSON'S FACE AND A GROUPER FISH
It's really old school and that's what I like!!!
you should be a car designer 🔥🔥
Maybe it's just me but the redesign reminds me of the some of the later Saab sedans right before they went out of business
Absolutely outstanding love it
Many people complain about the rear of the 2021 E Class, but they keep forgetting that W110, W111, W112, W113, W100, W108, W114, W115, W116, R/C 107, W123, W126, W201 and R129 also had horizontal rear lights and no one complained. The front is unimpressive, I agree about that.
Love the redesign, it hits the brief to be more “German”...it definitely now has a touch of Audi, BMW and Skoda (I know they’re not German) from different eras - just goes to show how correct this redesign is!
The first revision reminded me of the 2nd Gen Infiniti Q45 and with the further revisions I still feel it’s a missed opportunity.
Love the old mafia style Benz
Another suggestion: Can you do by any chance a series where you design from scratch a car by a particular brand for the next generation. For example the next 5 series or the next C class as if you were employed as their designer.
Looks more serious now, as in, having a strong presence. Nice.
It Looks Like a e39 with Skoda Elements.
i would really love to see an audi rs2 redesign
I love your redesign work..there is one very iconic toyota..the Landcruiser 70 series. its had basically the sane shape since early 80’s I believe . I don’t know if you would consider doing a sketch of this car.
Well, it did improve a lot after the break. I feared it wasn’t going to go well, but you saved it in the end 👍🏻
You are awesome dude
