I was raised on a farm, and at every meal, we said, a blessing, or grace is some people referred to it, as, before we began eating. I continued that Prayer Blessing before we began eating.w/ my children. Now that they are grown up and raising their own family, it’s just me. Watching your videos and all the hard work you and your family do to raise. Vegetables has made me more aware of the food I eat, and all the hard work that goes into that food. Consequently, it is made me change how my blessings or sad and I don’t just ask for blessings on the food. I’m about to eat but rather asking God to bless the hands of everyone who had a part in growing the food that I’m about to eat as well as having markets so that I can buy it from them or put it into Semi’s to haul across the states.… Should I add them to my prayer list as well.
I am very grateful to all of you who work in the heat of the day and in the sunshine and even the rain to make it possible for us to have healthy food. I don’t take that lightly in anyway.❣️❣️ God bless you all and your family, and a big thank you for everything I’m able to eat that is healthy instead of processed food because I’m a cancer survivor❣️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

RUN MATHEW RUN My grandmother used those wooden bushel baskets. She had a plastic liner that went inside it and used them for her laundry baskets. She had a wringer washer and those liners help keep water from dripping on her when she carried them outside. You can still buy those liners online.

Andrew, I have been watching your channel for a couple of years now. And I absolutely love watching you all working together. You are living a life, I have always wanted to. I want to thank you so much for sharing your family's life with us. I was wondering if your grammy would ever consider doing a video when she is doing her salsa or baking pies? I would love to see some videos of how the ladies in the family contribute in the market. Baking, preserving etc. I am hoping you all get above 200k before the end of the year. I share with all of my friends and family. Maybe you would perhaps also consider a live Q & A video? Warmest regards. JoNi from Oregon.

Great video guys! The weather in the UK atm is so contrasting with cold and heavy wet weather in the North and in the South and here in London was 25c during the day and 15c at night. The weather is changing in the South and this Sunday they are predicting 11c during the day and 2c at night! It will be cold at night for 3 days before going back to 10c at night.
So basically, we have gone from above average for the time of year, to below the average for us in less than a week! RIP 2023 warm crops.
We have a small garden compared to those in the US so can only have 17 tomatoes plants. We still did good with 32.1kg processed. We still have a full shelf of red one's in the fridge so probably another 3/4kg.
Because, in between now and the weekend, we are due to get a lot of rain, we decided just to remove all of the tomatoes left on the plants and now have two big buckets of green tomatoes. I can't wait to weigh the final total but i will be happy with over 40kgs (about 88 lbs) of tomatoes this year! Green or Red, nothing goes to waste! What we don't use, the wormery will love!
Going to get the bed in order and plant garlic early. Because of the El Nino, they are predicting a cold and wet winter in the northern hemisphere where we are. This first light frost is about a month to 6 weeks early. We don't usually get freezing temps until the first week of Jan.
Still have my cold hardy veggies out and should be ok. My potatoes are nearly ready in about 2 weeks in fabric bags. I am hoping that they will drain out in time for the cold snap. If not, i can bring them in and finish them off in the workshop.
I don't know if the raspberries will ripen in time. It is their second flush? They are normally done with by the time it gets colder.
On the good side of the end of tomato season, i have saved some more free seeds for next year and i have taken some cuttings to over winter. I was also able to take in a smaller cucumber plant in a container and also a gardener's delight (cherry) tomato plant in a small container indoors. Worst case scenario, is my cold weather herb starters go in the window box and be brought indoors early. Hubby will probably hate me for it but i have conceded on growing any more mushrooms this year so in theory we have more space in the house now.... Lol

Great harvest...wow, the cauliflower and broccoli look so good! so here's a dumb question, so give me a dumb answer - how can you tell the difference between field corn and white/yellow sweet corn?? Nice to see the new babies and mama's doing well. We always need dedicated farmers like your family - it's got to be a very satisfying feeling to be your own boss, have all your own land and harvest some great veggies! Thank you for all you do! :-)

I grew cushaw squash for the first time this year. I'm just a little bit overwhelmed with them. I got 9 squash. I'm giving some away because these squash are huge! Love watching your family. I grew up 4th generation on a produce farm in Ohio. So many memories. I didn't like picking tomatoes because of the huge spiders with big yellow bodies!! We took our harvest downtown Cleveland to the Farmers market. Tomatoes, potatoes, cantaloupes, green beans, sweet corn, lime beans and strawberries were our money crops. I'm 69 now and still garden. Once a farmer's daughter, always a farmer's daughter!! 🏜

In SE PA there are almost none this year, so there’s hope. Someone told me that they are moving west, hopefully to vanish into the great American desert or the Pacific Ocean and be gone.

Hi there love your channel! Have we ever seen Grammy say the “and girls” part? I would love to see a Grammy video doing a recipe- everything she makes looks amazing.

I’m 8n west Michigan. My yellow tomatoes are still green. My red cherry tomatoes are only just starting to color. We have a few days before first frost. I will bring them all in green when we get word of frost.

Your corn garden is very large, I like the delicious young corn you are harvesting, my farm also grows a lot of corn to feed chickens and ducks
