  • In this video we drastically change the ride quality in the hijet, i took it on a few spins around the block after and the cabin is much quieter after the sound deadening i might go back and clean up some more area but it was 100% worth it! Radio next along with some more upgrades!

    Good first round. Do the doors and the roof (under the headliner). It’ll also make a noticeable difference.

    • @Waybeforethefame
      @Waybeforethefame  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah for sure, Looking back I would do the doors but headliner is a lot of work to redo.

    I like your floor cleaning technique. Last time I had to do this job, I taped plastic over most of the dash, drove a few blocks to the coin-op carwash with a wrench, took the seats out and pressure washed the interior. I honestly think you got better results with car wash fluid and a scrub brush.

      Appreciate that man, i was pretty happy with the results

    Do yourself a favor, separate the seat from the engine covers and use sound deadening sheet before reassembling. You’ll see a big difference.

    If you want to put the sound dampening under the seats but not in the engine compartment, the seat can be separated from the base plate by 4 bolts, hope this helps.

    I bought a mini truck too about three months ago, bought the deadener a few weeks back and can't wait to put it on, I've been busy as hell with university and running my business, but I've soo far done a deep clean, put my company vinyls on it, and repaired the paint ( I lucked out finding a light blue jumbo cab.) I'm also looking to fix my radio, repaint my rims, re carpet the floor to get rid of the cheap vinyl, re upulster the ripped seats (maybe using versa/Paseo foam as it fits the seat rails of the jumbo,) and figure out what the hell some after market 3 way switch does (plugged in the first blank button left of the steering wheel.) The more I do the more I wanna do.

    My 1996 4WD Hijet should ship from Japan soon. I'm removing the floor mats and I'm going to use Monstaliner bed liner to paint the entire truck, inside and out. It's a very tough rubbery polyurethane finish and does a pretty good job of sound deadening. The headliner is missing, so the gray Monstaliner will make it look a lot better (in a durable off road fashion) while also protecting the truck and deadening the sound, although putting 25 inch all terrain tires on it will generate a lot more road noise so maybe I'll break even.

    Put that gold foil on the engine side of the panels under your seats. It will help with the heat of the engine bay. Then do the sound deadening under the seats

    Why don’t you just paint the bottom of the seats with the bed liner, I’m sure it will help with the sound and most likely won’t melt off , ? Just a thought 🤙🤙

      Ive been basically daily driving the truck and its made a HUGE difference. not coming off at all, i kinda want to do the doors and roof but i plan on selling the truck in less than a year so its not worth the headache but i would 10/10 recommend

    People use the term OCD wrong so often it diminishes peoples actual suffering.
    If you were a sufferer of OCD, just your socket set being untidy would be enough to set off extreme anxiety and panic.
    Gripe aside, nice job on the deadening and bedliner.

    Instead of doing the bottom , why not pull the seats off the pan and putting the sound deadening between the two
    Also the radio I’d going to be tough as the stock radio is only about 2”s deep and there’s no room in the dash for anything to go farther in . You will need a mechless tuner as they are only thin enough for it fit . Also you’ll need to open up the bezel to handle the single DIN as the slot has just the opening for the 2 stems and the tuner window

    • @Waybeforethefame
      @Waybeforethefame  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah i was thinking about splitting the seats, i just put the sound deadening on the bottom today. and dam i know the radio was small but 2inch lol
