Got the Göta Älv, huge river from Vänern, Swedens largest lake and several more normal rivers going thru the city that holds plenty of pike and also got canals in the city that are REAL street fishing with pike in there too. Really a very good place for piking as there are so so many lakes around the perimeter of the city. It is much more varied than in Stockholm, where all waters are connected. It isn't in Gothenburg. I could guide you! The fee would be the Ike combo, as I can't find either the reel or rod anywhere and it would suit me PERFECT, the rod atleast. And you can't go around fishing old outdated things, well? Win-win!!

However I’ve seen so many nightmares of birds nests and reel not set up right etc. could you do a short video showing us how to set the reel up and best ways of casting with a bait caster? Looks to be MTP camo pattern but with “urban” colours. Might be wrong as it’s only a small patch. Multi terrain pattern is what British military use for their camo but with different colours of course.
When that float bobs and goes under, is the best feeling ever. The only time you know what you're into, is when you hit into it. Could be a 1lb or a 30lb fish on the end, or anything in-between. Just have fun with it. And If you get a soft take on a lure, don't ever think it is small fish. Cause if you have your drag to tight, a big fish will go off like a train, with your rod, and if your still holding on, your arms too. Tight Lines out there.

Lads I’m a carp angler , I recently bought the Abu Garcia combo set up ,I took it to the local canal to have a few casts and could only cast it a few yards , I was using 20 lb braid and it was bunching up on the reel 🤷♂️ do I need heavier lures ? Tia 👍
No mate you need to adjust the drag and the braking on the reel as at the mo when you cast the spool is just spinning freely and giving you birds nests if you look on youtube at baitcaster set up tutorials itll help you a bunch
@@jackyelnats3543 look at the original post buddy hes new to baitcasters and as such may not have it set up as I said originally so start with the basics first before buying new lures as it will also do the same thing if the lure is too heavy
I reckon shaun should do a pro series like the American pro's where spinnerbaits are concerned he should bring out a big series with his name on the blade and the spinnerbait should be called ( YA BREATH )

Depends on what kinda budget you got in mind. To cover a couple options for you guys to look into I’d say check out, tsurinoya reel and rods or fishband gh100 reel and kuying Teton rod, if you want something a touch nicer then look at major craft rods and possibly Abu bf8 reels. If you wanna go balls to the wall, have a look at the shimano aldebaran or diawa alphas air.
Pike are the best fish in the whole world! I love them more than my Nan! Not really, but all jokes aside there’s nothing like having a pike smash your lure right at your feet or seeing one leap out to smash a frog or duck. I’ve had a couple cuts from the teeth but only at the start of my fishing career, handle them correctly and use the right tools and you’ll never even come close to the teeth. Ah man I love pike fishing, just writing this makes me wanna go right now but I can’t, sadly
Westin W4 powercast 30 - 90, revo beast. The westin cast 10 gram lures easy, it cast 90 grams easy. ALL the lures you use for pike from little canals to big lakes. No point buy 20 different rods realy if you look at what lure it is. Never buy the cheapest rods, never buy the most expensive rods. Buy the one in the middle
Savage gear road runner rod I had was like that, could cast anything upto like 90g even though it was only rated to 70g but it could cast small lures well below its minimum rated weight as well. Wish I still had it.
